The "Voice of the Cherokees" is the best in the business especially at the high school level. He is unbiased towards the team McMinn is playing and never uses words like "Us & Them" . He has been calling McMinn games since 1976. BTW his name is Johnny Coffman.

Maryville has a great team all around. I dont see any team in this state beating them including the VOLS and TITANS. Somebody up there needs to tell the PA guy that its Murville not Mary Ville!

Is that a 91.4% favorite to get beat by the mighty Rebels? It seems to me that Vegas is typically pretty close on their game predictions.

On a separate note Vegas has Maryville as a 27 point favorite. I hope McMinn can hang in there with the mighty Rebels so that we get our monies worth. What a daunting task to play Maryville on the road plus its there homecoming.

Apparently they have always had good football teams at Maryville. My dad played for McMinn back in the late '40's and tells me that Everette High School was a tough opponent. I assume Everette is now what we currently know as Maryville High School?

There has got to be more to it then what has already been mentioned. You have 4 high schools in Blount County....are you telling me that Maryville gets the majority of the good players? It just seem like everyone is not playing on the same level playing field. Even in college there are programs that have success for years then fall off. But Maryville has not lost pace for over 20 years. Anyway what a great tradition that Maryville has established over the years probably one that will never be matched.

As a high school football fan I would like to know what is the secret with the success Maryville has had the last 20 + years? 1) Great coaching? 2) Great tradition? 3) Good players? 4) Quality feeder program? I mean every good program I can recall over the last 30 years has had a few poor years. I can name several programs that have had good programs such as Cleveland, Oak Ridge, Farragut but they stumped their toe every once in a while. But all of those programs have not had the level of success that Maryville has had. So what is Maryville doing that other programs are not doing? I mean they have not lost a regular season region game in 20 years and have enough gold footballs to make Fort Knox jealous.

Is there a 6A playoff bracket published somewhere? Of course its blank at this time as there is a lot of football still to b played. I would think there is a bracket so you can figure out who may play who as the playoffs work themselves out.

What has happened to this once proud program? They had 3 wins last year and are currently 3-13 this year. They have had players quit mid season plus an assistant coach resign this year. What is going on????
