It is fun seeing more diversity in the finals from different schools. There is not a doubt in my mind, that more places across the state is developing youth programs. I hope one day Tennessee is seen as a treat to the power houses across the country! Get on your grind this off season gentleman, as Mr. Brands say "nothing is deserved it is all earned"

That is true. That seeding meeting would be something no one in their right mind would want to be part of. That would take days to do. Medalist first then have common sense with the region champs and runner ups. Because a lot of it is common sense looking at some brackets. Some weights have 1-2 medalist on one half with 4-6 in another, that is a horrific act on no common sense!

Ok here is the think. takedown earned, reversal earned! Knox didn't give up an escape but stalling was called on landers. Knox picks bottom landers get hit for stalling again = 1pt. has to cut him and does. Knox up by 2pts. was the second stalling call BS yes I think so but to try and say that the match was given to Knox or if the scenario was reversed is ridicules.

He's not on Kennets side of the bracket and I'd like to see Gaither beat Kramer, but who knows. Filbey will take the title I think either way!

We have already discussed how terrible a couple of the officials were! Do I think they are both good wrestlers, sure I do, but they both know they will meet in the state finals so no huge risks were taken during that match and the ref played in. With saying that I think more points will be scored in the next match up and nothing will be left up to a refs "the quote I absolutely hate (judgment call)"

This is another one of those weights that is who ever shows up to perform will do well at state. I just think he hasn't been as exposed as the others on his side of the bracket, and could possibly pull off an upset. It was one of those who am I gonna pick decisions so I just picked! No particular reasoning!

Yes, I agree that they have to wrestle better. I would say all top three schools think the same thing. Never being satisfied with any result and thriving to always do a little bit better, is/should be every team/wrestlers goal! That's what makes this sport so special! A lot of things can go wrong in any weight at any match, and that is fun! I'm excited to see the outcome!

Maybe you should note that BCHS has beaten both of these teams in a Traditional style Tournament. I think Bradley can score more bonus points as a team, and do well/enough in the consolation rounds to pull it off. They have to wrestle better than they did at duals though. But for either of the three teams to win I think they have to do good in the consolations with bonus in the championship rounds to pull it off!

I used to be dogged on this message board when I competed. Saying I was punk, I wrestled dirty, or I was a bad kid because I went out and was a teenager at the same time that I was an athlete. I'm not saying what I did was always correct, but at the time I was one of the top dogs on the hill and reading the things that GROWN MEN wrote about me made me grind that much harder. Did it piss me off? Sure it did but it cracked me up that people kept up with rumors and wanted me to sit out when I transferred schools, even coaches! Looking back it was funny. On the other hand I do agree that rankings is sometimes made like a betting ring but they are interesting to read and keep up with for across the state knowing. I never meant to talk bad about the kid nor do I think anyone else did. I know first hand what its like. I had posts made about me!

I think BCHS is a better Individual tournament team than a dual team! I think the team point race for at State will be a nail bitter between them CHS and WC

Personally I don't think rankings matter from a competitor stand point because at the end of the year an athlete has to beat the best to prevail and get to the top of the podium at the state tournament anyway. BUT, I have not competed in a little while now, and I try to keep up with what all goes on around the state. Just so I can see the best match ups and know what to look for at the State Tournament. I know in seeding meetings that I have personally sat in coaches will say "my kid is the #3 kid in the state he should be on the other side of the bracket blah blah blah" Importance Seeding - Which can bump out some (Should be Finals Match ups) Mentally - A kid can beat 3 or more ranked kids and not see any improvement on the ranking board, and can mentally have doubts or wrestle with a chip on his shoulder End of the Year Bumping - If a kid is the #1 ranked kid at a weight and drops or goes up or has a certain match up with a STUD and not only beats him but controls him the entire match, how is that not recognized for end of the year rankings? From a spectator standpoint. Colton Landers beat the breaks off of the Wilson Central kid at 132, and will be competing at 126 but has no recognition. One doesn't simply beat the number 2 kid in a higher weight class just to drop to a lower weight class for no reason. This kid must be tough! Point being made, is there a standard for how these rankings are put together, one persons opinion, or several people discussing? I really appreciate the work that is done please don't take this wrong, but I think some are questionable. Is this favoritism or facts? *Colton is an example this is not a Cleveland parent wanting something for their little angel!*

I agree! Its not that middle Tennessee is a bad spot, it is the place in which its held. Its fun to have a little bit of a crowd cluster instead of being so spread out! It tones the competitive atmosphere way down in the stands.

What ship is Cleveland taking? There is a 1-1 record between the two teams this year, BCHS with the largest margin win. The second match-up BCHS wrestled straight up and Cleveland bumped winning from a tied match. Its going to be an incredible dual. The team that wins will be the team that didn't hold anything back!

Being a good kid and seeming to work hard doesn't make you a state ranked kid! That sounds like a mother wanting recognition for her young. On the other hand rankings do not matter anyway, rather your going to produce at state or your not!
