  1. I can't see Harpeth going 0-3 down the stretch... I do agree with your picks below. Heritage over Harpeth WH over Cheatham Westmoreland over Greenbrier.
  2. Heritage 52- 49 over Westmoreland Heritage up by as many as 16.... lucky to come away with the 3pt win. Calling off the dogs at halftime is not a good thing.
  3. I strongly believe in the theory that the better the play, the better the officiating... It wasn't an aesthetically pleasing game, lol. It looked for the better part of the game that Harpeth was the better team. The game next week should be a good one.
  4. Harpeth 54-51 over Heritage Sloppy game... turnovers and fouls galore! Refs were their usual dumpster fire selves, but by now... we all know that. DesMarais and Neely made back to back to back 3's to bring the game to 1pt but Harpeth sealed the game at the free throw line, fittingly. Rematch next Tuesday night @ Heritage.
  5. B52 - Good call on Welborn. DesMarais gets the fanfare (as he should- unbelievable athlete) but Welborn is the heartbeat of that team. For those that don't know, he picked up 3 fouls in the 1st Q vs. Greenbrier. Why he was even on the court with 2, I have no idea. Once he got the 3rd foul... he eventually fouled out in the 3rd I believe. I went to the Springfield v WH game earlier in the yr and Springfield had a layup line too, even without their 6'5 Center (probably their best player). I told a few of the Heritage boys that if they get through the WH press... there's easy buckets to be had. It happened in both games. Is 21 made layups normal? Probably on the high end, but this front court has been very efficient with their touches. The front court scored 45 in the 1st game and 42 in the 2nd game. Most of those were easy looks.
  6. MJHoops - How's T. Wilson looking this year? We had him and JR on the same travel team last summer. Both were lights out from 3 and I expected both to be putting up big #'s.
  7. All of the freshmen mentioned are getting PT on varsity. Some more than others. The 5th freshmen I believe is injured. The Sr. actually was at WH 1st, and transferred to Heritage for his So yr. He played JV as a So., and everyone's expectation was that he would start as a Jr. He played great over that summer and during the Heritage team camps...Long story but he's now back at WH.
  8. Sr from WH Heritage Fr from Greenbrier Fr from TW Hunter (?) transferred in as 8th grader 3x Fr from WH Heritage transferred in as 8th graders Their current Fr/So roster is stacked. I was talking about the future of the program. What if those Heritage kids stayed at Heritage? lol
  9. Are we playing the if game now? Tell you what, go ahead and wish in one hand and poop in the other and see which one fills up 1st. While you're at it, why not talk about how many kids have transferred into WH in the last 1-1/2 yrs? Don't be shy - By my count, I see at least 6. What would the future of the program look like without those? Pretty convenient to omit those from your 'what if' diatribe?
  10. fyi - I wasn't talking about WH, I was talking about Heritage coaching... when it was mentioned that it ruined the new transfer. No worries...
  11. B52... I'll leave it at this... He's also been through a lot in the last year+ so I wouldn't blame him if his heart wasn't in it as a Sr. having to play JV. Should he go out there and get 20? Sure... Would it earn him more time on Varsity? I doubt it. Re: Heritage turnovers and pace of the game As Bama mentioned, 2-20 turnover games still resulted in comfortable wins for Heritage. I doubt that you want to see a clean game (see Sycamore). There's also no need to worry about what Heritage might do in the district Tourney or beyond. That sounds like sour grapes. That's would be like me saying... "all of those good young FR/SO guards are going to be wasted at WH. No way they're all going to get big minutes there."
  12. Funny you said that... This is the same team and coaching staff from the last 3 yrs you're referring to. Looking pretty good so far, am I right? Not bashing you/ WH or anyone, but I actually know the player in question. I won't speak to what led him to transfer but he's much better than you think that he is. Seen him play on some strong AAU teams as well. Maybe if he chucked up a 3 he'd fit in better? I think that since he's a Sr., that the coaches would rather invest more time in the youth than winning. Why else would they have played 19 players so far on Varsity? Not a bad strategy,as I think that WH will be really strong for the next couple years.
  13. Agreed...They play those younger guys by design, not out of necessity. The 6'3" Sr. transfer from Heritage played maybe 5mins. You can't convince me that he shouldn't be starting or at the very least playing major minutes. The 3pt shot is WH's biggest vice. They simply shoot too many... or the wrong people are shooting them... or both. 122/440 28% from 3p Everyone on here keeps saying... "wait until they get hot." Glad it wasn't last night.
  14. 73-60 Heritage BlueDevils made about 10 - 3's...maybe more trying to keep the game close. It didn't feel close. Side note - WH plays way too many kids. At this point, they should have a solid 8-10 man rotation. They must have played 15 kids tonight.
  15. Was like a Twilight Zone episode Heritage (team/ student body) didn’t show up. Zero energy in the gym. It hurt not playing for 2 weeks with the bad weather last week. It was like watching shoot-around for an hour. I kid you not. Greenbrier didn't look like they wanted to win either. Heritage had 3 starters foul out and 2/15 from 3 didn’t help. No such thing as a good loss, but maybe this will help them shake the rust off for the rest if district play.
  16. ^ Agree These are the same kids minus (5) cogs from last year. 3- seniors; 1- transfer to White House; 1- 3yr starter hung up his high tops mid last year. They should have been loaded last year but finished 9-15. The Goodpasture win was no fluke. Heritage started slow, but outscored them 41-27 in the 2nd half.
  17. WHH 67 - Ezell Harding 36 42-15 at halftime... Stout front line - and tough guard play
  18. We're in White House, but are willing to come down to Nashville area, as we have in the past. I'm looking for an organization that has several age groups, potentially allowing the boys to grow. Thanks
