  1. Elimination games on Monday and Friday.  A seeding game on Wednesday.  I doubt anybody threw their #1 for more than a bullpen on Wednesday.  It's not sound strategy if they did.  These Wednesday scores will not be very indicative of who has the better team a lot of the time.

The No. 1s threw on Monday. It's just a matter of how much they threw. This thread was started on Monday.

  2. How good is Brooke Parrott at Chattanooga Central? She's been lights out in the postseason, giving up single-figure hits while producing strikeout totals in the upper teens every game.

  3. WH 1 - MLK 0

In a match that saw multiple cards (for one team), an ejection, and a player telling/showing everybody they were number one, shoving his coach, throwing water bottle onto the field and into the dugout, White House wins a squeaker.

    Wow...

But, and I quote "what do you expect from a school full of incest loving cousin marrying people and

    cheating referees."

    Composure wins out....BDP moving on.

DCURTIS, is it a 7:15 start at WHHS tonight?

  4. I'm talking about Hayes (no N in there) from Riverdale. She signed with Tennessee. Regardless of Holly letting the program slip, they're still viewed as an elite program. Thousands don't show up to watch women's college basketball at every home game everywhere. They do in Knoxville. Pat built it. Holly is having a difficult time maintaining it. Hayes is better than Levy.

Now, Haynes-Overton (with a N) plays at East Nashville. She's a ridiculous athlete, super quick and leaps well. If she had size, she'd have gone to a power-five school. But she doesn't.

Some of you are getting Hayes and Haynes-Overton confused. Nobody in the state is as good as Hayes right now. Levy and Haynes-Overton are both quality players too though.

  5. I've watched both of these kids play several times and in my opinion Hayes gets more "pub" because of where she plays at and the team she is on.  There isn't a lot of difference between these two players in ability in my opinion and thus far Levy has outplayed her in this tournament.  That being said one tournament doesn't make or break a player.  Both are very good and both will excel at the next level.  I know WKU is the school of choice but she has another year of competition left and I'd be very surprised if you don't  see some SEC schools come calling after this tournament.

Levy is a really nice player. Hayes is easily better. Doesn't matter though. Both got gold.

  6. District 14AA and Region 7A is far from weak. Now maybe this next 4 years it may be when they adding 3 single A teams. SS played Upperman good til 4th qtr. Anxious to know the rebound margin, which i think was the difference plus #11 hitting those timely 3s. First time jitters may have played a part as well, but i accept to see them back. Everybody on here us so bias to there area without seeing teams throughout the year. Westview has been to state like 5 consecutive times and they had to beat a food Haywood team to get there so saying districts and regions are weak is not REALISTIC!

Fantastic Haywood team? Who did Haywood beat that one would consider a quality opponent this season? Haywood won its district and region by defeating a team that finished 8-16.

  7. Ball went out of bounds off of Levy twice on the possession that she made the three-point play late in regulation. Ball was given back to Upperman both times. Officials let the players face the wrong way on the opening tipoff of the first overtime, and Pearl-Cohn was called for a backcourt violation once Shaw dribbled into the wrong court. So, I'd say the bad calls went both ways. Upperman found a way to get it done. Kudos to Upperman. Kudos to Pearl-Cohn on a great season. It was a great championship game.

  8. Preppy have to be homer . This team most talented in AA . Then how in the world you get boat raced by east in Regionsl final . I love Shaw but here is whst I do and it's a huge gamble cause there is no Shaw on the bench . I X Levy with Shaw she doesn't touch it if she does she is doubled not by Maynard man though if so everybody rotates . Maynard no open looks . The gamble is Shaw gets in foul trouble . Love you alls coach just not sure she will go to those tactics because of the gambles . If not this might be a repeat of the regional final . Pearl Cohn being boat raced .

They haven't brought it every night. I don't understand it either. They're relatively talented though. Depth and mental focus are the biggest issues. There's a lot of positives though. Those guards are hard to handle. Second half should be interesting. Upperman has missed some open looks so far but has made some too.

  9. Don't start with the "oh we aren't any good" stuff. Pearl Cohn is a quality team we all know this. Upperman needs to get over the hump and finally win a gold ball. That in itself will be challenging enough let alone playing a good team like PC. If both teams play up to their potential then yes Upperman wins easily however we are talking about 17-18 kids and as we all know anything can happen at the Murphy Center.

If both teams play up to their potential, Upperman wins easily? Easily? Poor comment. Clueless comment. P-C is the most talented team in the state, not the best team but the most talented AA team. Those posts aren't incredibly skilled, but they'll make it difficult to score once Upperman gets into the lane. Shaw is the quickest player in the state. Sandifer has played well in the tournament so far and is savvy. The quiet one has been Nelson, who can shoot it from the perimeter. Don't sleep on her, or she'll have 12-15 on 3-balls. It should be a good game. Levy is very good, but it won't be easy once she penetrates into the lane tomorrow. She may draw fouls, but she won't get easy baskets. Upperman will get some shots from the perimeter. If they knock them down, it might be gold. If not, Pearl-Cohn may be the third consecutive state champion from District 10-AA.
