  1. Alright, this week's matchup is a non-conference game between Montgomery Central and Greenbrier. Both teams are coming off close losses in region play after last week. Central fell to division opponent Kenwood by a total of 28-23, while Greenbrier was defeated 20-13 by East Nashville magnet. Both teams have good size up front with some competitors in the skills positions, making it look like an interesting match-up on paper. With both teams looking to get back on track this week, they will both be hungry for a win this week. I look forward to seeing this one in person. I take the Indians 21-14. Good luck to both teams, here’s to a healthy result on each sideline.
  2. Hey Rusty, Sorry it took so long to respond. Central very well could have had this game, but key mistakes at crucial moments, and missed opportunities cost them. They outplayed Kenwood most of the night, but penalties killed them in the final stretch of the game. With around 2 minutes to go Central tagged a roughing the kicker and a personal foul, giving Kenwood control of the final minutes of the game. This paired with some miscues on both sides of the ball led Central's first loss of the season.

  4. Sorry for the typos and grammatical errors, I was in a bit of a rush. I think Central is the more disciplined and bigger team going into this one, but Kenwood’s speed and athleticism is something that could prove to be troublesome if the Indians don’t come out ready to play. If they can contain the Knights’ playmakers then it should go for the W, but if not it could prove to be a long night on the hill. I’m still going with a 3-1 win, as I’m betting on the Indians to be prepared. Central 21-7.
  5. This week Montgomery Central hosts new division opponent, and fellow Montgomery County native, Kenwood Friday night at 7:00 pm. Montgomery Central (4-0) is coming of a very emotional win over big rival, Clarksville Academy, where the game was decided on an interception with 11.1 seconds remaining on the game clock. One of the hardest fought games I’ve seen in a long time, while holding a very impressive tribute to our nation’s military men and women. Kenwood (1-3) is on a three game losing streak after defeating West Creek in week one. Since them they seem to have had trouble getting their momentum going and have been on the downhill slide, as it were. MCHS started off sloppy last week, but fought hard to come up with a W last week. The defense is fired up and ready to play, and the offense seems to be drawing on their experience to get them this far. They have the size advantage up front again this week, which will them out over the course of the game. The depth at the skills positions also will help them in keeping up their energy going into late moments of the game. Kenwood’s line seems to be a little smaller and less athletic than MCHS, but their backfield and skills positions make up for that with their athleticism. Their offense rests on the shoulders of a couple play makers, which one would assume would make them the targets of most coaching perspectives. Nearly all of their skills players play both sides of the ball, leaving them potentially tired in the fourth, which is where this game may fall to. Going into the second round of division games this week, MCHS must come out with their heads on right and play smart against this quick athletic team in order to pull this one out. Kenwood’s going to be hungry after their recent games have fallen short of the mark, which is going to make them a dangerous opponent. They will be looking to knock off the undefeated Indians, in what could possibly be one of the most important games so far this season If MCHS comes to play like I have seen them in the past few games, I will take them winning 21-7. Good luck to both teams, Here is to a safe and healthy game on both sides of the ball.
  6. Final score: MCHS 28-CA 21 Great game for those in attendance. Hard fought for both teams. I haven't seen that much heart in one game in a long time. Hats off to both teams and both coaches.
  7. Central travels across the river to take on what may be their biggest rivalry this season in Clarksville Academy. This rivalry has become known as the "Battle of the River", as Central is on the Southside of the Cumberland River, and CA is on the Northside. This Rivalry has a CA leading the series, but Central currently holding the trophy (yes there is an actual trophy), after a 14-13 win last season. Central is coming off a big win in their first divisional game, and the best start to a football season in the last 17 years. They are sitting high on the hog right now, which is something that they are not accustomed to.(3-0) CA is struggling to find their momentum right now, they have fallen to 1-2 after making it several rounds deep in the playoffs last season. However, they do have two starters returning to action this week, which could help swing favor in their direction. If Central comes to play I feel like this will fall in the win column, they have a stronger defense, and their offense is moving the ball pretty well at the moment. They have the size advantage up front as well. Central has the better team athletically, but I know Coach Hood (former Central OC) at CA will be more than prepared for this matchup. This rivalry has always been an exciting game to watch, and I am looking forward to it this week. What about you guys?
  8. I think Central's Defense is stronger as well. If Central can move the ball on Creek Wood, which I believe they can, then they will take this one. They have a multitude of backs sharing carries, and I feel that last weeks defense was much tougher than what I've seen from creek wood this season, meaning they should get some good yardage this week if they play well. Creek Wood is a big rival for many different reasons, so they will be going all out this week. I wouldn't be surprised to see something surprising from them. I like central 28-7.
  9. Ok so this week we have MCHS taking on Creek Wood in the first conference game of the season (for either team). Central is 2-0 for the first time in 10 years and is playing strong at the moment, winning 23-7 over a motivated Harpeth team. Creek Wood is coming off of an emotional win against Fairview. Starting off the game with a 14 point deficit, to come back and win 17-14. I think MCHS is the tougher team here. Stronger defense and a lot more size up front on the offensive side. Creek Wood seems smaller and quicker up front, but it looks like they may have a few tricks up their sleeves. With it being the start of division play, this is where things really begin to get important. What do you guys think? Best of luck and best of health to both teams.
  10. Final Score MCHS 23 Harpeth 7 -which means MCHS with a 16 point margin. Good call Buckeyeball, coulldn't have gotten much closer.
  11. This week MCHS takes on Harpeth at home in a non-conference game. Both teams are delivered big wins with MCHS defeating Stewart County 42-6 and Harpeth knocking off Clarksville Academy 42-28. There has been bad blood between these two in the past, for various reasons. This usually leads to a game that is both brutal and entertaining for the mass of fans that come to watch. With both teams looking to start big seasons off on the right foot, by going 2-0, this is bound to be a game that will be remembered for some time. With both teams coming off such dominating victories in week one, I'm anxious to see what happens at the end of week two, as well as what you guys thing about the match-up.
