  1. Not saying Belfry will hold Catholic to 14 like they did last year, but they DID hold Catholic to 14 last year. Catholic and Belfry are both better than last year IMO, but the game is decided by points, not yardage. TOP and the ability for Belfry to finish drives and not have a fumble fest will be real important for the Pirates. Go down there and turn it over a bunch and it will be a long night for the Big Red.
  2. Just for information purposes, they play 6A Lexington Tates Creek, Average 6A Lexington school, 5A Harlan County, average 5A school, 2A Newport Central Catholic, 5 time KY 2A champion and finalist 4 years in a row, KY 1A state champ and county rival Pikeville, TN 4A Champ, WV largest class Cabell Midland 3A, 2000 students, WV semi-finalist and beat Belfry last year 49-7 for their only loss, District foes Pike Central and Lawrence County and they finish the regular season at 4A power and regional rival Johnson Central Ky 4A Runner-up. By no means cupcake.
  3. Belfry doesn't dodge anyone and travels to find teams to play to provide quality competition. That is a pretty disrespectful post or maybe just a troll. The little "country mountain school from Ky" laid it on the big city boys last year. By no means does it mean they will this year, but they should have KC's attention. I expect a dogfight. Two opposite styles, but two really good teams.
  4. When KC came to Belfry last year we really enjoyed talking to their media guys. First class. I was wondering if their is a source for TN high school stats? In KY, schools post to the KHSAA website.
  5. For the poster who said Belfry is 3 yards and a cloud of dust or turf, I would say not so fast my friend. They tend to be more of a quick strike O just primarily on the ground. We can three and 4 yard you to death and if you allow that you will never beat Belfry, but just last night they had 4 explosive TD runs of 63 yards or more. Easy to say you can stop it, but really hard to do.
