I'm taking Giles 37-35 the key game that show how much Giles has improved is the Page game they loose by 1 point in overtime on a questionable call now Page is playing for 5a state title I've watched this team mature and improve drastically after each game. Plus I think a little payback is on order.Giants do fall.

37 points?? The Tornadoes defense will not give up much more than 14 points. Good luck with your prediction tho. :thumb:

I would love to play Alcoa next year. We need to start scheduling games like this. But that doesn’t change the fact that Alcoa v Giles  is going to be another dominant performance by the Tornadoes. Alcoa doesn’t lose the 3a public schools.

    Much appreciated crow! :thumb:

Thought that GP's defensive game plan was fine. Load the box and stop the run. Made Alcoa throw the ball against man coverage. Got some really good match-ups with Winton they took advantage of.

Offensively GP was pretty vanilla. Did not take too many shots down the field. Waited late to get the RB involved in the passing game. Outside of the drive to open the second half, they just did not do anything to try to win the game. Plenty of weapons, with the QB, #7, #2 and #23.........Their OL line could not do anything with the Alcoa pass rush.....either.

Agreed! The Tornado defense wasn’t going to give up much more than 14 points. On top of that, there was zero chance of GP holding Alcoa to less than that. Just not enough horses. Especially at the line of scrimmage…..:thumb:

No denying Alcoa is one of the best programs in Tn. That’s why my point is you’re still in 3A clubbing baby seals going for all time high scores

Anxious to see how next reclass goes. With the growth that Alcoa is experiencing I would think The Tornadoes move to 4A very soon. When that time comes, I hope all the teams you mentioned (and others) decide to stay in 4A. Otherwise, Alcoa will be in the same situation, but driving longer distances to play regional teams that aren’t any better than they have now….

Good luck Friday night. Looks like not so great weather might be in the area. Would be two long drives ($$$$$) to Greeneville if it gets cancelled for safety reasons. Hopefully it shifts!  B)

I have a buddy of mine that is an Alcoa fan.  He said that the two guys he was most concerned about was #2 and #7.  He said that they did not touch the ball one time in the 2nd half.  He said all they did was give it to #23 who is the new kid that was recruited from out of state.  He said that #23 was really good, but #2 and #7 were both really good players that have been at GP all four years.  Poor coaching not to get those guys the ball.  Even peewee coaches know that it is easy to stop an offense that only gives it to one guy.  Peewee coaches also know that getting the best players on the team the ball is a better chance of winning.  I guess the GP coach has some job interviews this week and didn't want to take any chances having to cancel them because of practice.

Not true! 2 got hurt. Looked like maybe a shoulder and 7 had several catches in the second half… The GP defense was their major problem. Did well slowing the Tornado run game between tackles, but couldn’t defend the pass (especially #0). He had his way with any defender GP put on him ALL NIGHT LONG!

The second issue with GP was the offensive line. QB was under pressure most of the night. Took way too many shots. Lack of depth showed up early.

    Good luck next season! :thumb:

    Close? :roflol:
Alcoa was ahead 21-0 at halftime, and 31-0 after 3 quarters.  Alcoa unloaded the bench at that point and Giles scored on Alcoa's subs. Alcoa's subs also added a touchdown on Giles' starting defense.
    Total yards:  Alcoa-402   Giles-106

When Alcoa pulled all their Starters, Second & Third String players and puts the FRESHMAN TEAM in the game....first play freshman RB, #33 runs for a TD. Then the Freshman DB #80, intercepts a AE pass a races to the house. Yeah, we scary! :roflolk:

So we agree you're butt hurt that Alcoa whipped BC?!

And....Since you can't deal with it, and have to down play it makes it even better!

You think Alcoa was the only team playing football that day on Bradley Counties football field? :bored:

You think BC's player's showed up in Pajama's and just "Let Alcoa win?" :roflolk: YEAH RIGHT!

By your repeated whine......We KNOW the truth!  :thumb:

Do not worry about this game. Alcoa Tornado will not get mercy ruled by Gatlinburg Highlanders in this game. If mercy rule happens it will be Alcoa Tornado doing it to Gatlinburg Highlanders. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

I believe maryville will make a recovery, may take a couple more years but that principle isn’t helping up there from what we hear. And Alcoa getting all the players on the band wagon….I’ve always been a huge fan of maryville… I love that school, community and team…  can’t stand Alcoa… I Wish Bradley was 3A just to smack them loud mouth tornadoes in the mouth by stealing their championship. We’d mercy rule them this year… they thought that half #### scrimmage at the first of the year proved them best team in state haha they’d get 50 points out on em if they played Bradley right now

And just like that, Alcoa loses yet another imaginary football game. We just never seem to win those. Even after handing out a curb stomping not too long ago. Good luck with the rest of the season! :thumb:

Wow. I'll admit I know nothing about Alcoa's program but even Alcoa fans would have to admit how someone would believe there is some kind of recruiting going on over there.  Even if there is not you have got to at the least say to yourself, "I can see where it looks fishy to the outsiders".  I mean it's hard to believe one school has that much "state champion" talent year after year.  And even harder to believe they found 5 great coaches in that tight of a time frame.  Even the richest D1 college teams don't get that lucky and they pay millions for coaches. Example: Alabama. A long history of winning championships but the few dry runs they've had was when they made a "dud" hire for their coach/recruiter.  But Hey I'm not hating. Just giving the Alcoa fans a little something to think about before they get defensive when being accused of "recruiting".   Go get you another State Title Tornados!!

2000 was Scott Meadows. First championship since 1989.

2004-2005was John Reid who is now the highest paid HS football coach in GA (Rome). DC was Brian Nix and has been with the team from that point on.

2006-2021 was Gary Rankin. Brian Nix as DC.

    2022-present is coach Nix…

Alcoa doesn’t have to recruit it’s players or coaches as both are drawn to the local talent and success of the Alcoa community. :thumb:

Not to mention, you’ve got Murvul within 5 mins of Alcoa….Success breeds success….
