My understanding is second is one used to determine seeding. Should mean Houston comes in as #1 seed.
McCallie and MBA split the series two years ago, and McCallie got the #1 because of total margin of victory even though they lost the second game
-
so in other words mccallie did have the game under control up until that valient 13 man comeback attempt?
MUS dominated the first half and held a 6-1 lead early in the 3rd quarter before McCallie went on their run.

Well according to the web, JPII and Father Ryan kick of the 2006 season this thursday. McCallie also has action this weekend with a jamboree on Saturday. Good luck to all teams. Any McCallie guys have info about this jamoboree on sat?
Farragut, Webb, USN, Ryan, Ravenwood, and obviously McCallie. Games start at 10 and end at 5

I think Billy was referring to their trip to Disney, which usually has some good teams. I'd probably give the edge to McCallie due to Gilman, which will be the best team anyone in TN plays this year, and Winter Park, Lovett, Charlotte Latin and Lassiter are all coming off good years, but McCallie is a little bit more centrally located for a schedule like this, which helps them out.
Although it's quite obviously easier for McCallie to play teams from the Atlanta area, like you said, part of the strength of the schedule is taking the trip to play in North Carolina year in and year out as well as getting games against MIAA/IAC teams consistently. While location is a factor, MUS could/should take advantage of being much closer in proximity to quality teams from Texas. I realize it isn't that close, but the opportunity there is comparable to a drive to North Carolina from Chattanooga. And as far as the Disney trip, who all did MUS play there last year, and who are they planning to play this year?

D1 or D2 ?
do you really have to ask?

So enlighten me, are you a current MUS player relying on the legacy of four championships that you were never a part of, or are you an alumnus of the glory days that gets his kicks from demeaning other teams on this board? And by the way, I'm sure you put the fear of God into MBA when you destroyed them by one or was it two goals in the semis? I'll leave you with one final question: what was it this year that erased McCallie's fear of playing MUS? Could it have been the loss of our best player last year or losing all but three starters from last year?
On the topic of competition and travel, good texas teams, including one or two that MBA played, are a lot more accesible from Memphis than Nashville. But I guess it's not necessary if you play pushover Florida teams on a Disney vacation or the Illinois powerhouse of Nequa Valley.

some of you are so ridiculous this is pathetic that MUS is getting bashed so bad. The truth is McCallie has been too scared to come down to Memphis until this year, and MBA was to busy getting there ### kicked by everyone else to reschedule a game, since they canceled the first time (they were scared) and we went all around the ####### last year to beat every team that was incredible this year. Oh and by the way Gibson dominated a d-pole for Highland Park that was going on a full ride to Nebraska to play football. So why doesn't everyone grow some balls and quit talking ####.
Scared? Hey slim, check any two of your fingers, and ask yourself one question: What is not present? In case you're too thick to get it, I'll be blunt. The team that is "too scared" to play MUS has beaten them for the past two state championships.

Rabil is a fromer McCallie defenseman who went on to play at UNC. And Kapman it's Tornado(singular)...like the Stanford Cardinal

You need more than atheletes to win state. This year McCallie won not with a bunch of big defensemen and middies that play running back, but with guys who focus on lacrosse 100%. We were by no means the biggest team in the tournament, but with teamwork and skill we won. It's going to take more than a year to start a decent program too.
First off, 6'2" 230, 6'3" 190, and 6' 190. Those are not small defensemen. And coincedentally, McCallie did have a middie that played running back. As for the 100% focus, we have plenty of guys that play multiple sports and even more that could but choose not to. One of the reasons I think we won was the overall athleticism of our team. However, you're right in saying that it takes more than athletes, but with solid coaching and participation, a program with better athletes should ultimately be the better team.

During the semi-final game vs. MUS, I saw Caroland for MBA on the sideline in street clothes. I'm assuming he was injured, and I was wondering if anyone from MBA could elaborate on it.

The winner of the McCallie/MBA game will be the #1 seed in the East region, and barring a freak loss to USN, MUS will be the #1 seed from the West. The loser of the McCallie/MBA game would most likely face USN in the quarterfinals with the winner playing MUS in the semis. On the other half of the bracket, Christian Brothers will probably meet the winner of the Webb/Farragut game, and the winner of that will play the winner of McCallie/MBA.

MBA-7
Ravenwood-5
A close game I believe that it was tied 3-3 at the half and Ravenwood fell off a bit and MBA took it away. A close game between a top DI program and a DII school! Maybe the Divisional gap is closing more quickly than the DI kids believed. Hopefully we see this match up again next year.
I'm not sure if the divisional gap is closing that quickly, but Ravenwood definitely has a solid team this year. They are capable of competing with anybody in state.

I'd really like to have another shot at McCallie. They had one defender, #17, who was a complete jerk. The whole game he said derogatory things about my family under his breath. I can't wait for the state tourney.
-
Those three are definitely below Rainer, Taylor, Hansen, and the Webb goalie at least. The only way in which that might be the case is if you completely exclude D1.

TN and GA state champs are getting some attention

It's really great to see some southern teams et some recognition. Down here we know that some boys can play, but hopefully the rest of the lacrosse community is taking note. The only difference is that the kids up north have generally had a stick in their hands most of their lives.

Well, I know when I've been proven wrong, so I admit that I underestimated CBHS. I'm not sure what this will mean for the rest of the year, but things are certainly looking more interesting.

I don't know anything about the games themselves, but of the three teams that they beat, two are below .500. The other is a decent Georgia team but not of the caliber of Lassiter, Lovett, Westminster, or Pace. I'm not trying to take anything away from them, but I don't think three wins against mediocre Georgia teams necessarily means a program transformation. They've always been a solid team but will probably find themselves 2nd in the West again and on the losing end of their game against McCallie or MBA in the tournament.

He had two goals, and one was in transition. Giving him that many assists would be pretty generous stat keeping
