Reprisal of a cheermom post a few years ago after a WB/ Maryville game.
I don't know when the idea of kneeling during an injury timeout came about. To me it is more important to get the players instruction and hydration during a timeout. Injuries, sadly, are part of the game. I just don't see this disrespect thing.
I agree 100% and so do our coaches. I hate it when someone yells at the team to show some respect and take a knee.
-
Blevins was the difference maker. Jeff County had trouble getting him on the ground all night.
-
Our players don't take a knee during an injury timeout either. I don't have a problem with it as long as they aren't laughing and joking.
-
Congrats on the win. Blevins is a stud. We had him in the backfield for a loss and he broke free and went about 40 yards for the touchdown. That was a backbreaker.
-
Prayers sent for the young man.
-
Jefferson County by 3 touchdowns.
j/k JCHS by 3 points

That freshman receiver is pretty good too.
-
I want to win this game more than any other game on our schedule. Hopefully, the Patriots gained some confidence from the Maryville game even though the final score wasn't that close.
-
I bet the view is great from the upper deck but I'm going to sit on the visitor's side when we play at DB.
-
The sun shouldn't be much of a problem tonight. It's supposed to be around 80* at kickoff and mid 70s by 8:00. If you sit on the home side please keep in mind that the blue and white numbered sections on both sides of midfield are for season ticket holders. Moose will run you out of there if you try to sit there without a season ticket pass.

So how is this game gonna shake out? What does JC try to do on offense?
I haven't talked to the coach but I'm pretty sure they are going to try to score on offense.
-
LOL. I noticed that too.

Tell momma to stay home. LOL.

Charged when we played them.
They were charging at the big parking lot at the bottom of the hill but we wanted to get closer and when we got there the kid just waived us thru. Maybe he thought they had already collected from us.
-
Yeah that's where it was at. And being friends with Rw87 is better than the coupon section in the Sunday paper, imo
We parked in the church parking lot last year. I think we donated $10 just for that one game.

MidTennFootball,
I'm not a cheapskate, i'm a broke college student. I drove up to the Science Hill game last year, which is a little over 2 hours away, and they were charging $5 to park. That was an unpleasant surprise for me because I was on a pretty tight budget. The worst part is you can look at a school like Science Hill and tell they arent hurting for money with their campus and stadium that are nicer than a lot of colleges. It is greed, plain and simple. Some will try to squeeze every penny they can from you. The schools that charge to park are generally the ones that arent hurting for money. They'll be charging to use the bathroom before you know it.
I heard that Science Hill charges to park for football games but we didn't get charged last year when we played them. I'm not sure if the kid who parked us didn't know what he was doing or just didn't care. There was a circus going on at the same time and he may have been confused. They were definitely charging some people.
-
You'll sure pay to park if you make it to Cookeville.
Gladly

Jefferson County considered charging $5 for parking at games this year but ultimately decided against it. They do have a paid parking section next to the field house but general parking at the front of the school is free.

George has been known to rotate quarterbacks. How is your garbage service?
Doh! Sorry SteersNBeers, I just realized what you were getting at. There was a time when I worked in Maryville and commuted back and forth that I seriously considered moving so the boys could play football there.
-
Uh oh I know what that means...
I don't. Someone asked me about our garbage service in another thread and I had no idea why they asked.
-

I don't think George will be rotating Jefferson County's quarterbacks. Garbage service is great when I remember to put it out.
-
Theroy how are things looking with Spencer. Are they liking him and his system. I was impressed with the number he had out dressed at the GCA game.
Barney,
Overall I think the fan base is happy, so far. Of course, we also realize our schedule gets a (whole) lot tougher starting Friday night.
There are a few changes that I'm not personally happy with, my oldest son was expecting to get lots of playing time on offense this year in addition to starting on defense but we don't have any players playing both ways this year. Also, my youngest son was the freshman quarterback last year but has been moved to defense this year. While he's doing well (starting on special teams and backup DB with an interception against GCA), he wants to be a quarterback.
-
It wasn't last year because we played y'all. But I'm thinking it was 2 years ago.
Correct. It was two years ago.

You just gave Lamar Brown bulletin board material. West will never lose again.....
I take it back. I take it back.

This game will be close if Jeff County can correct the tackling issues and costly penalties they had against MW.
