  1. USA Wrestling's guide lines, and TWF Qualification policy for Fargo. FYI The TWF Board is made of 11 members. ATHLETES 1.All athletes who meet age group requirements, any existing state qualifying procedures and are current members of USA Wrestling are eligible to participate (see Qualification information below). QUALIFICATION Junior Division 2. Wrestler must have qualified in a competitive event conducted under sanction of USA Wrestling in the state where he/she resides, and must be certified by the state association. For Mens Freestyle and Greco-Roman, each state may enter a maximum of forty-five (45) wrestlers in each style and a maximum of four (4) wrestlers in any one (1) weight class, per style. For Womens Freestyle, there is no limit for the amount of female wrestlers each state can enter in this style. 3. In addition (TO ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS), the top four (4) place winners from USA Wrestling's Junior Division Regional Championships and the top eight (8) place winners from UWW Junior National Championships shall be automatic qualifiers for this event but must still adhere to all individual state association policies. The top eight (8) place winners from UWW Cadet National Championships shall also, be automatic qualifiers for this event. Cadet Division 2. Wrestler must have qualified in a competitive event conducted under sanction of USA Wrestling in the state where he/she resides, and must be certified by the state association. Each state may enter a maximum of fifty-one (51) wrestlers in each style and a maximum of four (4) wrestlers in any one (1) weight class, per style. For Women's Freestyle, there is no limit for the amount of female wrestlers each state can enter in this style. 3. In addition, the top four (4) place winners from USA Wrestling's Cadet Division Regional Championships and the top eight (8) place winners from UWW Cadet National Championships shall be automatic qualifiers for this event but must still adhere to all individual state association policies. The qualifications are clear, number 1 must be satisfied before number 2, number 2 before number 3 applies. All Tennessee wrestlers who want to go to Fargo must attend TWF State and South East Regionals or apply for a waiver. Again if you don't agree with these guide lines from USA WRESTLING CALL THEM... USA Wrestling6155 Lehman DriveColorado Springs, CO 80918Phone: (719) 598-8181 Personally, In my opinion, all this conversation is great; it keeps everyone current on TWF events and procedures. Besides all this conjecture, if anyone wants to get involved with the TWF, get on the Annual phone call that is always posted on here, and apply for a position. The board appreciates all the help we can get. Also, the numbers in every category show wrestling in the State of Tennessee is growing. Athlete memberships up 10% to almost 950, coaches membership up 21% at 154, officials up 38% to 13, sanctioned events up 12% to 10, and Bronze Coach education is at 65 vs Copper at 17. So we are double digits in all categories. Junior National Greco Team finished 8th at the Junior duals, first time ever. The board has worked hard to get us where we are. Last thought, in my opinion, if you do not like the fact that the TWF wants kids to go to State, or that we are following the guidelines of USA Wrestling, then you don't fundamentally understand what our job is as the TWF Board. If you have a problem with the guidelines, call USA Wrestling. While you have a representative on the phone, ask them what they think of Tennessee.

  7. All this Interest in the TWF and USA Wrestling (Freestyle and Greco) is wonderful. The Ironman at Blackman was an amazing event yesterday, most of the Board Members were there supporting the State of Tennessee and the Wrestlers. They will also be at TWF STATE on May 12th, if anyone wants to come out to meet them. Here are all the web links to help anyone find the information they are looking for to HELP with any questions. Southeast Regionals Eligibility https://usawevents.sportngin.com/page/show/1670215-eligibility-membership Fargo Eligibility https://usawevents.sportngin.com/page/show/1678013-eligibility TN USA Wrestling Board and Phone Numbers https://www.tnusawrestling.com/page/show/993010-about-us USA Wrestling Staff Members of State Services https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestling/About-Us/Staff-Directory If anyone has any questions please contact some one from the USA Wrestling Family. To clear up any QUESTIONS about eligibility for Southeast Regions and Fargo, it clearly states that all wrestlers who wish to participate in the events MUST follow STATE Qualifying Procedures. The Board has discussed and voted on these procedures, as follows: To qualify for both Fargo and Southeast Regions all wrestlers must attend TWF State or receive a wavier to the RULE: Now to clarify more clearly: Regionals are a Qualifier for Wrestlers in that Region for Nationals. Wrestlers from OTHER regions it is an OPEN. Example: Wrestlers from the Southeast can wrestle in the Northeast Regions, but it is not a qualifier for Nationals for them. Wrestlers must qualify from the State of Tennessee for Southeast Regions through the TWF State Tournament to qualify for Nationals. The Regionals are an open for wrestlers from other regions. This can be confusing. I hope it helped. Below is a copy of the Eligibility page for Southeast Regions.
