  1. I have not seen all of those teams play, of course. What I can say that I have seen is this defensive line play and about 50 years worth of other defensive lines play. With that being said, this one is the best 4 defensive linemen (as a unit) that I have ever had the experience of watching. Satisfied?
  2. Pass defense is a concern. But championship teams run the football, and stop people from running the football. The D-Line for Henry County is probably the best in the state. That being said, the QB will rush his throws as he is running for his life. I predict HC scores at least twice on defense. 38-0...I stand firm.
  3. We will b ready this Friday. This coaching staff has the answers. As a matter of fact, they were probably preparing for this game during the dickson county week.
  4. DC got beat like a drum by Northeast. It's hard to convince your players that a team is worth a crap after they get beat by 28 by someone who you beat 43-0...and could have beat them 100-0 if you wanted to. The only issue in the DC game is that we underestimated them (which was very easy to do, based on their record) and were flat because of the serious lack of atmosphere and 10 fans in the Home crowd! This team, defense, etc. is fine. The shutout train is back on the tracks! 38-0
  5. Brentwood will not score 31 on the HC defense. They will be prepared for this week. There will be a chip on their shoulders after allowing pop warner dickson to hang 27 on em. And 2 weeks for these coaches to prepare...look out! My new prediction: HC 38 B 0. Let the shutout wagon roll again.
  6. Battle of the Trenches...HC All Day Long. Coaching...HC Physical Play...HC By a LONG shot. Special Teams...HC Rushing Offense/Defense...I shouldn't have to answer this one. Not even close. Passing Offense/Defense...Brentwood. That being said, I take HC by 21. 38-17.
  7. Very true statements, Debbie. These next two games will answer a lot of questions.
  8. Henry County's best (possibly only) pass defense is making the QB throw on his back. A couple of hits from the incredible D-line and #47 should shut him down pretty quick. If we give him time, it will be a long night.
  9. Hats off to DC. Fought hard and didn't give up like advertised. Offense is for real. Defense played hard but couldn't come up with a needed stop at the end. I think EVERYONE in Henry County underestimated the Cougars.
  10. Wow. Looks like somebody got an early start on the weekend. Northeast puts up 7 more than HC...and DC scores 28 more against Henry County's defense than they did against Northeast...Ok....time for bed.
  11. According to dictionary.com: rivalry - the act of rivalling; competition. No competition tonight in Dickson. HC 43 DC 0.
  12. The play Sims made to beat Melrose may be the most legendary play in High School football. Incredible. Safety blitz to basically take the handoff and trot 50 yards with the go ahead touchdown with less than a minute to play... That's a movie scripted ending right there.
  13. That is the key to success at Henry County in a nutshell. Having a staff of assistant coaches who MANY schools would kill to have as their head coach is definitely the recipe for success.
  14. That's true, we have had our share of spectacular athletes over the years. McNairl, Teague, Allens, Ray, Sims, etc. However, if you line up the players from each of these teams and picked the best athletes, the Ridgeways, Liberty's and Melroses would win hands down. Probably 5 to 1. So to say we "match up" is unrealistic. We play disciplined, tackle well and win on special teams.
  15. I agree. Shutouts are great and all...but keep the main goal in mind, the gold ball.
  16. Speed Kills. Believe it or not, Henry County is not blessed with a tremendous amount of athletes. They win football games the old fashioned way...smash mouth. If you compare the Henry County football team to Dickson, Clarksville, etc. they match up pretty well. Lined up against Liberty, Ridgeway, the old Melrose, and other Memphis teams, it's not even close. So, with that being said, Henry County has to be perfect when they play these teams. No margin for error against that kind of speed and athleticism.
  17. Henry County did have some rough times about 12 years ago. We hired a head coach who brought an energy and enthusiasm that was GREATLY needed (Joe Gaddis). The players and community would run through a brick wall for him. We went from 2-8 one year to playing in a state semi-final two years later. From what I gather, the Dickson Co. football program needs some fresh blood.
  18. I don't think it's trash talk at all. Henry County needs a decent "rival" game because it has no one else. The only surrounding schools are 1 and 2A schools. Numbers don't lie though, the last 6 meetings have all gone to Henry County, in convincing fashion. DC was able to avoid further humiliation by joining a different region and choosing not to play the last two years. No where to hide now. I'm predicting the same score as in 2008. HC 43 DC 0.
  19. The worst news dickson county received in the off season was hearing that henry county was in the same region as them. No way to avoid playing them anymore. Defense gets to 6, no problem. Offense gets as many points as they please.
  20. Prediction spot on if rossview offense hadn't given up the safety.
  21. One too many "pops" to the head, I believe. Rossview 0 Henry County 35
  22. The Dickson County football program needs more ammo than a CoachT message board can provide, I'm afraid. They've been shooting blanks since Creekwood came into existence.
  23. Don't say that!! Rossview may not show up tomorrow night.
