Why are you coming on here trying to be negative about Oak Ridge?Do you have something against Oak Ridge or Coach Cummings.Who is your team? Just trying to figure out where all your comments are coming from?I seen where somebody said something about Clinton to you but surely a Clinton fan wouldnt be trying Oak Ridge

And God forbid a Clinton fan "Try" OR. It is those comments by OR fans that make most teams in the area not like OR.  What has OR done in the last decade besides beat West on a lucky call to cake walk into a state game?

I just thought this was a place to exchange ideas about programs in our area?  Not trying to be negative.  I guess when it comes to OR we can only discuss the positive things?

Idk YB. Coach told me again today Rogers is practicing and working hard.   We are losing a senior wr though, not named Rogers.  I guess we will have to wait and see.  Like you said, the A B A thing isn't going to work anyway.   I do know this much, if he is planning to leave, he hasn't mentioned it to anybody on the coaching staff to this point.  He is practicing and wearing cardinal jersey #1.  You can see him for yourself, in the flesh at Blankenship at Tuesday's practice.

You may be right Cat, I just heard he was the one looking at TKA but you know how things change with kids from day to day.  I hope he stays with you all and performs well.  He is a good kid that has just been a little misguided by the wrong adults in the past.

To be fair, isn’t that the case with any Coach? What would Gaddis in his heyday been without Lussier as DC, Rankin without Nix, Quarles in his heyday without Jimmy Gaylor, Ditka without Buddy Ryan? And the list goes on………A HC is only as good as the coaches he has surrounding him.  That has always been the case, and today it’s no different.

This is a fair statement. I should of been more clear in my opinion that Cummings hasn't always hired the best guy to call his D

So..... a former Vol/NFL player as D coordinator isn't going to cut it?  Are you making your stand there?  With any changes to any program, there will be some turnover.  It happens.  Also, everything is new, offense and defense.  I expect a slow start to next season and finishing stronger.  But, I like what I see out of this staff so far.

Didn't that same D coordinator get demoted at Catholic?

What little I have got to know our new coach has been great.I have no doubt he will have us on top in no time.If you are good he will find a way for you to help the team.Ive been impressed and if parents can get behind him and just tell little Johnny to go to work they will be happy in the end.Its too bad so many kids today are taught its all about them because its so much better when you play for the right reasons.Im just glad my parents told me to get better instead taking my side when I would complain about not getting ball enough. We have some really good players and it can get good quick if we can fix or improve a few areas in yr 1.Go Wildcats

I can appreciate your excitement. He is a good coach, but I think everyone knows he is only as good as his Defensive Coordinator. He scores points but most of OR games will turn into shoot outs… if he has any players left by August

Heard the same on the WR.  Hear a public school in Knox County public and a private school in Sevier County are in play.

He would have to move in to the zone to be eligible at another public school, and I am pretty sure he would have to move to be eligible at the private schools, too.

Yeah, the A, B, A move wont work here without a move.

  8. Serious question, not an attempt to throw shade at anyone or stir anything up but I heard a pretty good athlete that played two years at Central is now working out and intending to play with OR this season.  Did he move to OR or was he always from OR to begin with and now wants to come home due to the coaching change?

  9. In region 2-AAA, Northview and seymour are in the district not hosting the region this year, but are the only two remaining in the tournament for girls.  Seymour wants to host the championship because they are the one seed and northview is two, but northview insists the game stay at the neutral site of the other district that hosted the semis.  Now Halls is hosting and are not playing. This makes absolutely no sense and the game should go to the other district's top seed, Seymour.

I do not understand why Coach Keith would have players living with him. His son is on the team, and he may have some friends over. I hope that is the confusion. What is with all the eyes on Clinton? What did the Dragons do?

Taking advantage of a Foster Care System is low.

I think the issue is people subconsciously think that if they downgrade and slander something, eventually it will become the negative aspects people say. I also think that since Clinton is having some slight success in sports this year, the old guard wants the sports programs to “stay in their place” at the bottom. The reality for those critiquers is if the team at the bottom starts coming up, someone else is going to the bottom!

Fact, he is not the only head coach that reads this stuff.  Some do post, but they all read these threads.

Traitor, I can't elaborate right now or I will lose my source over there.  I'm sure you understand how that works.  But, when the next regime is in place, I can  put it out there how I knew,  what I knew and when.  But for now, just sit back, wait and watch and enjoy the show.

What if your boss really knew how much time you spend doing this, when you should be teaching CTE instead...

Or maybe you are still doing that metric lesson when folks walk in to observe...

Halls and Gibbs will most likely both finish top 10, not quite top 5 this year in single A.  Granted both programs would say they are down this year, when they are "up" they most certainly both would compete for a state title (Gibbs did win it just 3 or 4 years ago).

Also- is anyone going to acknowledge the fact that the  winner of this  Clinton vs Halls match has to go wrestle Greeneville??? You're arguing for the chance to drive 2 hours during the week to go wrestle one of the best teams in the state this year regardless of classification?  Actually, considering this, I think I am now on your side youngbuck.  What can I do to help make this Greeneville vs Clinton dual happen?

I just think that kids should be given chances when they earn them and not to have opportunities taken away based off of technicalities and adult decisions. Shannon and Halls knew very well they could of agreed to the true second well in advance before last night, they had a ton of opportunity.  I am sure Clinton would of won or lost last night with a smile.  If anyone from Halls says that Clinton left early before their match, just ask anyone from Gibbs. Tim is very knowledgable about the whole situation as the Clinton coach wrestled for him in high school.

District determines the region. Based on my encounters with Halls personnel I would guarantee the AD’s discussed. If you weren’t ready to show up and wrestle and let your guys slack in discipline to be ready with only 4-5 hours until a scheduled competition time then that’s on you. I’ve met Coach Sayne and I know he would have been ready to wrestle Thursday even if the meet was cancelled. You can show up to wrestle because of that then you were right to not get to wrestle for a “true second.” Prepare better. Instill some discipline and accountability to be ready day of no matter what.

Districts do not determine the region in our region obviously. Our district and region follow whatever Halls wants to do.  Keep following sheep

Clinton and Fulton have no chance, CBG. Fulton barely has a team and Clinton isn't much better.

Gibbs and Halls on the other hand have a shot at Top 4, but it's Greeneville's to lose if they're healthy.

I know the reception isn't great out in Harriman, but have you seen the Halls and Gibbs teams currently?  I think all can admit that they are down this year and not the teams of the past few years
