  1. I think Dresdens expectations should be as high as ever. With all the skill players back I would say they should be the favorite in this region going in, but as we saw this year it's very unpredictable between UC, Dresden, and TP. Winn is the most important player to his team in the region and as he goes Dresden will go, which based on 2015 is most often in the winners column. Unfortunately I'm afraid no matter who wins getting through NCS moving forward will be a problem. Even though they had a senior laden team, they have a way of "finding talent" if you know what I mean.

If by "finding talent" you mean having a tiny workout facility with a killer strength coach who pushes the boys to compete then yeah we find talent. Get in the weight room. You can "find" some talent too. Hope that helps.

  2. Which kids have been offered on next years team besides lawless. i already know about the new qb for next year but because he sat out a year I wouldn't think he would be getting looks yet

No one yet. Were he eligible this past year, he would've had a real chance to take the starting position. He's good.

Both of the main RBs for next year will be 1000 yard rushers unless held back by the coaches. There will be at least two more RBs added to the mix.

The line will be affected by the seiors leaving, but we have some up and coming guys there who will garner interest from colleges. #76 being chief among them.

Just opinions. Nothing etched in stone. You can't control what colleges want. You can only prepare yourself. Get stronger, faster, watch film and become a better player.

  3. Losing 15 seniors will be hard for any 1A school and NCS is no exception. I'm looking forward to seeing #8 eligible after sitting out a year finally getting to sling the rock. The development of the young guys in the weight room and in track. Next season has already begun. Let's go!

Not worth the time to try and explain anything to folks that don't understand that to cheat you have to break a rule. Unfortunately ignorance of the rules plays a big part in how people think. Great season to NCS and Greenback.

    eagleeye2020:

Ignorance would imply a lack of knowledge but ability to learn. Stupidity is more of a descriptor for ZZ99. Stupidity is a lack of intelligence, dull-wittedness, brainlessness, slowness, doltishness and denseness.

NCS guys, you see where this thread is headed. Let's not have more shots at #50. Don't get dragged into the public/private argument that folks on this thread seem to like so much. Let's agree to either compliment the players of both teams or just let people spout off. It's time to move on.

  5. I think Ladykee might be implying with her "humm" that they will come out throwing. What do yall think?

They will. The Greenback QB is quite good and throws a mean slant. Their line is good. They will take a bunch of midrange and long shots down the field and their receivers catch the ball. We will have to shut down the amount of time the QB has to throw th ball.

  6. How about you catch up with the conversation. We had a good time yesterday. You quoted me from Sunday. Keep up with our thread all day, every day.

My bad, but no can do. As addictive as this can be I've got work and a family. You guys are obviously in your mancaves with clothes from two days ago on, beer cans all around the room, shooing the kids and wives away as you giggle and type.

  7. Holy cow! Thats pretty bold considering how many college players never make it to the NFL. Not to mention the fact he isnt even in college yet. You could look at Tiny, Hurd, and Ramsey and say they projected to the NFL.

Not a good example. All of those guys either HAVE BEEN or WILL BE in the NFL.

So you actually proved his point. Those guys did project to the NFL and will go.

  8. I agree with you on the part that those who are willing to work give themselves a better chance to get on the field early. Wayne Co has a young group of boys that started working out towards the end of middle school and havnt let up. They work out at least five days a week with nobody pushing them, they push each other and have seen big results. They didn't come up with it by theirselves though but by watching the older boys here do it. WC has a big of a work ethic as any team out there and it pays off. Your team is only going to be as good as they're willing to work and you can't make them, they gotta want it, all we can do as parents is support them.

+1 And that's what it takes to compete. Will, speed, weights endurance. People look at advantages. There are always going to be advantages. Are you willing to work for what you want?

  9. I haven't had a chance to congratulate NCS on their season and their accomplishment making the last game of the season.I have watched very little of your team but enough to know we have our hands more than full.I hope our boys play to their potential and if they do I think we will gain most of the doubters respect. They are a focused hard hitting bunch. After talking to the coaches and talking to each one of the boys they are so excited to get the chance to play NCS.I believe there were more tears shed by the home team Fri than the visitors. That should tell what this great game means to a community as ours. There is nothing like this week we are all going to experience win or lose!Practice hard boys,we are a proud bunch!!!

+1 We are all glad to be here and on Friday everybody laces em up for a hard fought game.

  10. You people need some humility. NCS will win their first football championship on Friday. I know it even if others don't know it yet. They have a great team. This is a good year for them to win it. Some of the teams from the east in recent years would give them a bad night, but all that matters is this season. I've said it many times, but most of us know that the top 5-6 teams were all in the west this season. Enjoy your moment. It's not everyday that you have SEC talent on a 1A team. At the same time lets be a little more gracious and grounded about it.

    No.

  11. Well I'm fixing to sign off have to get Shuteye,12:30 comes quick.I hope we do get some football talk going while I'm away.Good reading in the morn while loading my truck! Those who have watched our films what are your opinions on our Offense??I heard our D is slow and stands around so what about the O??

Regarding the offense, they're slow and stand around. Haha just kidding

  12. Here's my thought on it. I don't care to play the privates but yes I do think they have an advantage but I say get behind your kids and push them and it will catch on to other kids and you can compete with the privates. At the same time I do not in any way look down on or blame anybody in Nashville for not wanting their kids going to inner city schools, I wouldn't want mine there either. I guess my biggest and only gripe is the kids coming from far away county schools to attend that drive past other private and public schools. Just line up and play, win or lose leave it on the field. Nobody on here complains about playing Clarksville Acad or a Zion Christian who has the same opportunity to get kids as NCS. WC went to NCS with the attitude that they were going to win, not compete but win. NCS has had a huge advantage the last two years because their opponents were scared and beat before they got off the bus!

  13. You arent comparing your academics to Ensworth are you? They dont have a different level of curriculum for students which is unlike BA and others. You take what everyone does. Thats why so many kids leave there. They are not in a position yet to handle the rigorous academics. As far as tutoring goes you do realize they have a coach who's sole job during the day is to assist the athletes with academic help? Right?

Here it is rare that a kid is sent away because the acdemics were too hard. Not because they are easy but we care about the well being of the student more. Sending kids away because of academic failure gives you the illusion of rigor while forcing kids to believe they are stupid and unable to complete your program. Both of those are fallacies and part of a design that no longer has merit. Reputation is an illusion. Education is about taking a curriculum and making it digestable and palatable. Kids should want what you're producing. If they don't, you can't always blame the kid. Especially after you've used him for 4 years for sports. ijs
