  1. Head to Head, Myers(NCS) had more yards and TD than Hewitt(DA). Currently leads the state in rushing with 1662 and yards per game 237.4( nobody is close to that state. Lastly, he is at the top of the rushing leaders and he missed the first game of the season.

    Carguy you're right. Nuff said!

Haha. Give us your name and go tell Brothers and the DC in person how terrible they are. That way, they will know like we all do you're just a big bag of hot air. BTW my oldest never played against NCS but my daughter has and she's a big reason for a mercy rule game against NCS and my youngest son had multiple tds in a lopsided game.

DCA isn't going to win it this year ,or any time these next few years, and while I am not sure why the HC does some things I would never question him on a message board. Why? Because I'd go to the school and ask him face to face like a gown man should. Plus, I have more class than that. Not to mention he's won three gold balls, put kids in the SEC, and the NFL.

The truth is your coaches devote their entire lives to the NCS program and have forgotten more about football than you'll ever know. So for you and your clown gang who whine about every loss just look stupid and classless. Luckily, the interaction most have with NCS fans and coaches have been great so you overly critical, hypersensitive children are clearly not the norm.

Its just a loss kiddo. It happens. Coaches aren't perfect and in case you didn't know the team on the other sideline have players and coaches too. I know you like to run your mouth and talk about how great your school is while running everyone else down but maybe, just maybe, you'll blossom into a mature adult and change? I have hope, not much though.

BTW ITT I picked DA by 3. Congrats to both teams for a very entertaining game.

What makes you so sure that people have questioned Brothers behind closed doors? You have no idea what you your talking about in that regards. This is a football message board and fans talk great about their team when they win and are critical when in defeat. Not one person has said a word about Brothers as a man, but I'd you think you know football, you SHOULD realize Brothers put his QB in a no win situation by not playing to his strength. He isn't a kid that can throw it 40 yards in the air yet he is calling go routes. That's stupid on any coaching level.  Where are the slants, screens and underneath throws to play to the kids strength if you are going to throw the ball?  Why not punish the DA defense that had no answer for the run game(great effort by the O line).  Quinn did a great job of exposing Shaw as a DC. Stayed a step ahead all night. There is no half time adjustments with this staff.

Lastly as for your claim Brothers has sent players to the SEC and NFL,  he did little to help Bituli. You can't dispute that. I am personal friends with mom and dad. Bituli would have gone from anywhere. Same with the Ole Miss kid and Lawless, who Brothers has done little to help. Again, he would go from anywhere.

Where is Brothers as far as helping the other kids that want to play. My oldest son played for him and played in college. He never called or spoke on his behalf. He didn't do squat for the next level kid. He hasn't done a thing for Watson and nothing for the RB or Elliott. So please save me the butt kissing about him getting kids to the next level because it ain't true

Thanks, NCSdad23, Jeff was what caught my eye. But, I don’t want this to look I was trying to talk about CPA in your game thread.  Carguy is right, you guys know a lot more about your program than I do. I think Jeff is a good guy and I hate seeing “we went 15-0” in spite of him.  That can’t be true.  For the most part, coaches pour their entire lives into our kids and I’m always respectful of that.  They make mistakes too because they’re human.  I always thought you guys were lucky to have Coach Brothers, but it’s you guy’s thread and I’m an outsider so my thoughts should be taken as such.

Edited to say - NCS didn’t make the playoffs the 9 or so years prior to hiring Coach Brothers and he’s made the playoffs every year with some of those years going deeply...

If you watched the game on TV, you under stand what the guys are saying. I said earlier in the week this game would be Apollo Creed vs. Rocky. It was exactly that. Brothers should be ashamed of himself for putting his QB in that situation. He was 3 for 15 for 30 yards. Think about that. Yet, the RB has 332 and doesn't touch the ball but 4 times with under 4 minutes in the game. On 4th down, he isn't on the field??? Exact same thing happened against BGA. Brothers was trying to show how smart he is and looked like he had never called plays by putting his QB in that situation last night. It was darn near coaching malpractice.  I also said Quinn was a great play caller and got creative in how he got his playmakers the ball. High percentage throws. In regards to 2015, John Crosby built a defense that played lights out. He is no longer at NCS and it shows. The new DC is flat out in over his head. Crosby deserves most of the credit for that championship, IMO.

I went to practice to watch the Eagles final prep for this game. When practice was over, we went to lunch, and I told some of our boys how some folks on the T were picking DA to win. Oh man, was that a mistake! They proceeded to tear that place apart. One of our linemen was drooling at the mouth, another one slammed his fist and broke the table in half. One of our linebackers got in his truck and headed to east TN where he chased down a bear, killed it with his bare hands and then fed it to our Eagle mascot! Very scary stuff!!

Hahhahaha. Good one Carguy! This week has been like the 1A boards. Great to have a game like this.

Man...no offense but I think you may be looking through Dad colored glasses.  As an impartial fan that has taken a look at both teams I just dont see NCS winning this game unless DA comes out and has a few costly turnovers.  The running back, QB and Oline for DA will just be too much for NCS to handle.

Has Davidson faced a defense the caliber of NCS? Has Davidson faced a run game the quality of NCS? Both are no.  We know what happened when DA lined up against BGA this summer. Wasn't close.  This game will be a war.  You mention the DA O-line, do you really think anyone on that line can block the NCS front 4?

Here is what I know, this week has been alot of fun, especially the chatter about this game. We are about 30 hours away from somebody on the board being able to say to the other, I told you so.

Another question on the 21 point prediction for DA: Columbia Academy rolled up 240 yards rushing vs NCS and passed for 24 yards. DA has a much more dynamic back than CA and a very good passing game to go along with it. You could be right but I'm betting this one turns out a little different.

The CA game was a long time ago. It was the first game with a new DC and NCS was without their best player on offense. Again, styles make fights. Does DA want to get into a slug fest with the Eagles? Most of you commenting have not seen NCS play or seen what they do on offense. I could put up a tin of stats on the Offense and the RB. Nobody that is an Eagles fan is taking anything away from DA. The QB is really good, the RB is good.  NCS will be the first real test for DA. How is DA going to stop the rushing attack of NCS?  If NCS doesn't win, it's because Brothers doesn't stick with the run.  Book that!

Scoring points has not been DA's problem.  They can put up points.  This year, it looks like they have a better defense.  Not sure NCS has seen a balanced offense like DA.  These are the ones you look forward to playing/ watching!

I'm not sure DA has seen the type of offense NCS has. This is by far the best team DA has faced. NCS has face Columbia Academy, who if you go by the logic of some on the thread would be the best small school around. They thumped FRA! Ncs has also faced BGA , another really well coached balanced team. The test NCS has faced should help them keep their poise. Will be interesting to see how DA handles a team that fights back. Brothers has got to commit to the run and stuck to it. Utilize 4 in the play action game when he is singled up. That's the formula

  8. Nobody is talking about Lawless. The guy is very motivated for this week and is the best player on the field, better than the DA players, better than NCS RB. When he is motivated, he is unblockable.

I went back and watched the FRA vs. DA game.  FRA had a great deal of success. FRA play caller didn't stick to the run game and tried to pass way to much. That is my concern with the NCS play caller. NCS has two game breaking threats and the HC goes away from them for stretches in the ball game. Quinn only puts the ball in the hands of his play makers.

I won't. Lol. I have no rooting interest in this game, just opinions based on what I see. That NCS passing game is about 90 YPG and sub 50% completion. Maybe that's enough to keep a good team like DA honest. Maybe not though. My guess is if DA can contain the NCS RB, they win this one goin

I think NCS being the better overall team is a real stretch here. They have a great run game but no real passing game to go with it. DA has a great line and probably the best passing offense in the state to complement the great run game. NCS may have to pick their poison here and commit to trying to stop one or the other. I believe the only common games are Fayette Academy and FRA. NCS struggled with both more so than DA did.

Styles make fights. FA was without their starting QB and RB.  Without a doubt DA has a fantastic QB. I like that kid alot. NCS has the best player on the field in Lawless.  Will be interesting to see how the DA line holds up with the pressure Lawless and Elliott put on the QB. Also heard from BGA folks that DA didn't fair well at all against them and NCS held their own.  BGA and DA have similar offenses. This is a match up of styles.  NCS plays their games close and DA appears to want to play uptempo high scoring. This will be a great game no doubt. If DA wins, I think it will be because of Coach Quinn dialing up a couple of special play calls.

Winner of this one should take first in the region.  This should be a good one.  Both have good offenses, who can stop the other?  What do you think?

Davidson has a great play caller in Quinn. DA running back gets most of the pub but I think their QB is way underrated.  I am not sure DA has seen the type of d-line NCS has. Lawless and company really get pressure in the backfield to disrupt things.  I'm not sure about how NCS will fair. I think NCS has the better overall team but NCS coach has a tendency to get pass happy. Not sure who I would pick just yet. Either way, this is the DII-A version of BA and MBA for sure

Some of the numbers may be slightly inflated due to some of the competition.  However, they all are well above average and could play anywhere!!!  They all run hard!!

The only one I have not seen is FCS back. DA and NCS back both ran for over 200 on FRA which is supposed to be a step up in competition.  MJCA back runs with a lot of power, don't think he has to top end speed of the other backs but still a stud.

There was a coach there to see him at Goodpasture the night he hurt his elbow. I hope he saw enough to make a good evaluation. Of course, there's tons of film available. He's a talented young man. He is running like he's on a mission after missing most of last year with injury. When he went down at GP he sent a message to the team to apologize and promise to be back.

I LOVE to hear stories of kids like that. How stand up is that to apologize and promise to be Back?  Tell ya what, that kid has an old man pulling for him now

  14. Has anyone noticed the talent at the RB position in DII-A. MTCS, FCS, MTCS, NCS and DA backs are in the top 11 in the state in rushing. I think most of these guys are underclassmen so we will be treated to seeing these young men for another year. I have not personally seen the kids from MT, FC and MJ. I hear great things about all 5 though.

  15. Our Eagles make the trip down Franklin Road this Fridayh night. Looks like FRA is pretty athletic and has some kids with SEC offers. I hear Stoxstill-Diggs is very nice as a HS QB.  Nice WR for FRA. Should be a good match-up.

I think FRA has a size advantage up front. We have a nice combo working offensively with 4 and 26 offensively.  Will be interesting to see how FRA defends our offense.

Looking forward to seeing some old friends and not having to travel 2 hours to play. Good luck to both teams and praying both teams remain healthy

  16. This is shaping up to be a really fun division to watch. Of course, it doesn't get the fain fair of D2AAA, and rightfully so but this will be fun to see the natural rivalries develop over the years.

It's hard right now to know how good the teams east and west of Nashville really are. I know from watching Fayette Academy play that they are a tough scrappy team. Really reminds me of Columbia Academy.  I think that will be a good warm up for the show down with NCS the following week.

Also, I wouldn't rule of MTCS. Looks like they are playing pretty good ball.

Lastly, according to unapproved website, this division has 5 of the top rushers in the state. Gonna be fun. Good luck everybody

  17. Great ball game out at BGA tonight. Many thought NCS would get blown out and it looked that way early. Brothers benched Lawless, Jesse Watson and Bobby Clark early. Back up corner gave up a pitch and catch 50 yards play. Then Clark, has one hit his hands and goes right to BGA. Of course, BGA scores! The Wildcats are so well coached! The QB is very accurate and play games are amazing.

NCS fought back. Fantastic run game. Xavier Myers put on a fantastic show for us tonight. I'm not sure how many yards he had but it was alot. I don't understand this about the flow of the game, NCS had a huge stop. We were running the ball and had all the momentum and Brothers starts chucking the rock around the yard???? Anyone know if Myers got dinged? If so I understand, if not, terrible play calling at the end.

I will end on saying this, I have not had a chance to watch BGA in person before but I like what they do. One of the best coached teams I have seen in a while.
