  1. . I think the only team from district 11A that could give the 12A a loss is Columbia Academy. With the BIG post and good guards they have, they could cause a problem. I don't think Mt. Pleasant is good enough to beat any of the top 4 12A teams in the post season. Just not enough weapons at this point. The 2nd place team in the 11A is Cornersville, who has lost to (currently 3rd in 12A) Loretto by 50 and 20. But, come post season, records don't matter! Win or go home.

  3. Well, considering the remaining schedule, it could end in a 3 way tie with Summertown, Wayne Co. And Perry Co. Summertown plays Frank Hughes, Loretto, Collinwood Wayne Co. plays Collinwood, Perry Co., Loretto Perry Co. plays Wayne Co., Collinwood District record Summertown 3-4 Wayne Co. 3-4 Perry Co. 3-5 Let's just say Summertown beats FH and loses to Loretto and Collinwood (like they did the first round of games) And WC loses to Collinwood, PC and Loretto And PC beats WC and loses to Collinwood Summertown split with both teams. (If PC beats WC) That would give them a split Everyone finishes the district 4-6 What's the tie-breaker for tournament seeding? The 3 seed is obviously much more attractive.
  4. Obviously a coach who played high school, college and professional basketball would notice "the other team shooting free throws"... From what I understand happened, when the questionable call/no call happened, the coach was complaining to one referee and another ref, out of his site, gave him the technical. Not noticing, he continued to talk/complain to the same referee he had been talking to originally and got his second technical. Please, correct me if I am wrong. The referee that gave the T, should have made it known to him that he got a technical. just my thoughts!
  5. The attitudes of the PC players are not limited to the Collinwood game. The Scott kid just got a technical in the first quarter of the Summertown game this week. It seems that their best 2 players also have the worst 2 attitudes. Talented? No question, but it hard to watch players who find it necessary to mouth off the entire game.
  6. I agree, with the top 4 teams in the standings playing each other this week, it could really shake up the top of the list. Position 1-4 can all look different come Saturday. This will be fun to watch!
  7. With the sweep of Perry County, Summertown has put themselves in the drivers seat with 4 district games left. Although you cannot count anyone out. Loretto and Perry County both sitting at 4-2 and Frank Hughes right on their heels at 3-3, WC still within striking distance at 2-4, every game down the stretch can affect the district standings and seeding for the tournament. I don't think anyone wants to play Perry County on their home floor in a win or go home game. Tournament seeding can play a big role in determining who makes it they to the next round. Thoughts?
  8. With 4 district games to go it looks like position 2-5 will come down to the wire. It looks like Loretto and Frank Hughes may stay put in the standings. Collinwood/Perry County game should be a good one with PC looking for revenge and getting their coach back on the sidelines. The Summertown/Wayne Co. should be no different with WC looking to get a split on the season. Thoughts?
  9. Summertown with a good road district win at Perry County... 74-64 final I believe
  10. Summertown with a good road district win against Perry County. 57-46
  11. Collinwood gets hot behind the arc! With a buzzer beater, Collinwood leads 37-34 at the half.
  12. Summertown got down by 20 against Loretto and had tied the game with a little over 2:00 left in the game. Then McBee hits a pull up jumper with someone right on him and the next posession he hits a 3 and that pretty much put it out of reach. They are beatable but someone will have to shoot the lights out because it's hard to rebound against those trees they have. Side note:: McBee is the best guard in the district (smooth operator) The Summertown/Collinwood game tonight should be a good one.
  13. Seven district games this week should give us an idea of how the district may end up. I think Summertown gets the win on Monday. The Summertown/Perry County game Tuesday could possibly put one of those teams in the drivers seat. The first game was close, PC had just returned a key player and I expect them to be playing better this time around. Summertown usually gets up for the good teams, should be another classic 12A battle. Loretto I believe is still finding themselves and I think the second time thru the district schedule they will make some adjustments and be a difficult team to play. Once a young team figures things out, they could be a handful come tourney time. Wayne Co. has looked very good at times. They have some talented players and I expect them to continue to get better as the season continues. Frank Hughes showed that they can beat anyone, any night. Led by a couple of good post players and hard playing guards. Just as they made a run in the district last year, never count them out. Scrappy, hard nosed team. Collinwood, I don't know a lot about, but they seem to be struggling a bit but in this district you better bring your A game, every game.
  14. Very busy schedule this week. Seven district games, interested to see the standings Saturday morning. Loretto is in the drivers seat, can anyone figure out a way to beat them? Collinwood/Summertown matchup should be fast and furious. Wayne Co. with the strong start to the season but have lost 4 straight district games. Can they put their egos aside and make a run? Perry Co. can never be counted out, always plays hard and very well coached. Not sure you want that draw in the district on their home court. Frank Hughes hasn't come up with any district wins but no one can be counted out. Just look at the girls district tournament last year. The 5th and 6th seed played for championship.
  15. Summertown/Collinwood postponed until Monday. Depends which Summertown team shows up. Collinwood is not very big, but they are quick, scrappy and athletic. My pick, Summertown.

  17. With the district almost halfway finished it looks like anyone could get hot and win it. The game between Summertown and Perry Co. next week could put someone in the drivers seat. But as we seen in last years district tournament, any team at any time could win. Thursday/Friday match ups Collinwood vs Summertown Wayne Co. vs Loretto Perry Co. vs Frank Hughes My picks Summertown Loretto Perry Co. What you got?
  18. Frank Hughes with a quality road win at Summertown. Their 2 bigs were solid in the victory. Looks like the district is up for grabs early in the season.
  19. Friday match ups: Who you got? Perry Co. vs Loretto Frank Hughes vs Summertown Collinwood vs Wayne Co. My picks: PC Summertown WC
  20. Friday match ups: Who you got? Loretto vs Perry Co. Frank Hughes vs Summertown Collinwood vs Wayne Co. My picks: Loretto Summertown Wayne Co.
