  1. The guy hired his own assistants. If offered to resign that doesn't sound like a mutiny. That sounds like bad head coaching. Red bank was super talented and quite frankly he just isn't that good. Obviously red bank has a culture problem...That's all we know for sure from this news. That's what the head coach gets defined on usually. Culture of the program.
  2. I would just call a few good coaches around, ask them which young assistant is a good person and coach. Interview their suggested guys. Hire one and be done. In no way would I hire some retread that has had lots of opportunities and failed. Start a young coach and a youth movement, support him and be done.
  3. Haha..A quick Google search shows he left a job before he even started the season due to health concerns, at a school coming off of an o- fer season. Was fired multiple times. One of which by his own admission in part because of lack of discipline on the football team. Way to go Grundy!!!!! Haha
  4. This will be my last post. First everybody just bashed everything I said that was positive when I was interested in the job. Now I say I'm no longer interested and now I'm wrong again and everything is sunny and bright. No doubt the kids themselves have talent...central always has but they have never been good. Why?. I now believe I know and I'm not interested in the job. I hope I'm proven wrong and central gets...and keeps...a great football coach. Don't hold your breath on it though. I'm not saying I'm the Lord's gift to football I'm saying for me I'm not interested anymore. Good luck Central
  5. You just don't understand. I've spoken with the them. I wouldn't work with them in a million years. You have much deeper problems at central than the football team.

  7. I hate saying negative stuff..but...wow...things are not near what they could be.
  8. Big bad. If that's what you have been trying to say then yes. You are correct. I can tell you this though it used to not be that way...not at all. I remember price vs. Weathers... Red Bank and soddy wars. I played in them where you couldn't even find a place to stand and watch. Bradley vs Cleveland...etc. Chattanooga seems to have let the football haters take over. A few bad hires in a row used to get a principal fired.
  9. It's a Chattanooga epidemic. There are plenty of talented players in the area but nobody wins anything. Going to a game or two in the playoffs is plenty to make people happy. Do you really think the east ridge coach that had the best season I can ever remember was fired because two teens got in a little slap fight that didn't even warrant suspension? The kind of people that choose to be principals are the same kids that loved to take names on the board when the teacher stepped out. Remember those kids? They love to boss people around so a winning coach is a problem. Are there exceptions? Oh yes. There are some that are great to work with. Ask yourself this...what program is excelling...none?...who's fault is that? Like I said ..zero interest
  10. Central has some pieces in place to be successful but not near enough. Everybody on this board can say whatever they want but the fact is that football is not important to the administration. The job is still not even posted with hcde. They don't want a good coach. Good coaches tend to have too much town political power. These guys gave the job last time due to a threat....they don't want a good coach to win games. They want a bad one so you guys will lay the blame at whoever that fool will be instead of at their feet...were it belongs. Good luck central fans.
  11. Well not me. Not anymore. I have zero interest.
  12. I'm from Chattanooga. It doesn't matter. I believe you just like to argue. I answered the other guys question which is what I set out to do.
  13. It doesn't happen that way at central...isn't that what all the hubbub is about? If you do what you always did you'll get what you got
  14. Now that's funny. Maryville and Alcoa are respectable ..they do it exactly that way.
  15. Clearly we are not talking about the same thing. Not even remotely. My meaning was about xs and o's not the varsity head job. If the kids are learning the same thing from little kid football to middle to high...you can win a bunch of games.
  16. Whatever you do its important to build a program not a team. The middle school coaches should have access to varsity coaches meetings and be given whatever they ask for. The head coach of any varsity football team needs to be going to Saturday kids games in the community instead of watching TV. It's hard work to do it right
  17. You have to establish an identity that kids can buy into. The above statement is true if you run the weight room like everybody you play, if you are in the same offense and defense as those better athletes..then yes you get kicked in the teeth. Navy has an identity and its their own. Nobody else does it so nobody else can get their scout team to do it. Not one single player on their team got a division 1 offer from another school. Yet they win a bowl game every year. I'm not saying Central should run the flexbone, but try to perfect something all their own.
  18. Yes, I am a head coach now. I've been coaching either collegiately or in high school in Alabama for more than a decade. My family is in Chattanooga, I'm from Chattanooga. I played against Central in a bunch of sports coming up in the mid 90s. We always beat them but they were always athletic. I want the job because I don't think it would take anything more than hard work and some know-how and you could get right in the mix. Geographically, and talent wise central reminds me of the way Red Bank used to be. I know most coaches don't get on here and talk to people...but..I'm not them. I think it's good to know what community people think about their football team.
  19. Yes I did ask. Hardships could mean any number of things. For instance, I had a linebacker I coached that lived in a little house with no running water, so I had to give him my key so he could go in my office every day to take a shower before school. He is now at Auburn. Please dont get smart....I really wanted to know more information about what was being said. Hardship to me may be something different and is no less a problem. Keeping kids at the school instead of going elsewhere is easier than you think. You cant lie to the kids...either you know what you are doing or you dont and it doesnt take them long to figure it out.
