I agree. What's there to prove by driving 3 hours to take a beat down by clearly a dominant program. Once again my question is why does this 5A school only have 37 players? Are there 40 Baseball and Soccer players who weren't there? Doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Nice analysis! I heard through the grapevine that Clarksville lost two linemen due to disciplinary reasons. Not sure how true that is. For a team that's supposedly not very deep in that area, that can't be good if true. Does anyone one know what Clarksville NorthEast's plan for QB is? I heard maybe the Cross kid.

How's spring looking as far as the teams in the region? Any news? I know it's hard to get a good read due to some players playing baseball, soccer, etc.

Lol, yes politics are alive and well in Clarksville. I was reading the posts above about the QB leaving. From everything I hear, understandably so. I can only speak for the school my son graduated from, but yes. Surely you guys in Knox Co don't have to contend with things like this do you?

Not sure about the QB position. My son graduated a few years back, so I'm a little out of the loop. There was a kid who left CHS last year I heard (over politics)who was supposed to be pretty good. Not sure where he ended up. Anybody know if he went to Rossview?

Just curious if you know why Clarksville's numbers are so low? This was a team that dressed 85+ kids with the previous coach. I heard Rossview was turning away people last year. For two schools that are 10 minutes apart, something doesn't add up.

I can see it somewhat shaking out like this. I'd def flip 3 and 6. Clarksville lost some 20+ seniors, including both sides of the line outside of a couple. They only had around 45 player last year. Rossview will be better this year. Ton of athletes.

Agreed. I think your top 4 are accurate. Wayne will be tough to beat with Rice being a senior. I'm sure Huntingdon will be right in the mix again. CA will better. From what I'm told, they have young and promising QB to build around. Bruceton and HC will compete for 4th in my opinion. HC did lose some seniors, but that staff will coach them up.

In my opinion, Centennial or Henry County will most likely dominate this region as in years passed. Brentwood will be competitive again. They really made some good strides as the season went on last season. Rossview will be replacing their QB. They will be young, but very athletic. Dickson could be the sleeper. Don't know a lot about them. Northeast has a ton of athletes, and a game changer in the Cross kid. I was told Clarksville High school lost some 20+ seniors with a team of only around 45 last year including their QB who made a ton of plays last year. West Creek doesn’t have a coach as of right now. Anybody else with some other insight out there?

Distraction? I do believe players should work out together, but anybody who's been around HS football knows its hard to get 20-25 kids to commit to 7v7, especially during dead period when HS coaches can orchestrate. Some play other sports, others are just not as committed. My son has been to NFA, Manning Passing Academy, FBU, and several others. There are some good things to take with you, but nothing can replace getting the opportunity to compete with some of the best players in the mid-state during practice, and line up against other state's players during the tournaments. And to clarify, my son was at try outs and there was no money asked for upfront. Very competitive, organized event with some tremendous talent at every position.
