  1. I'm all for that! Totally awesome for the Middleton Tigers and the Bolivar Tigers to be playing tomorrow ... and we look for it to be both of them playing again on Saturday! Go Bolivar Tigers and Go Middleton Tigers Hardeman County's Finest
  2. Yeah ... big deal ... you missed those free throws, so it is a mute point. Why can Lake County accept that they are out of it and were out of it before the 'boro??? If Lake County is so great, why did they not host the sectional??? And, if they had, it would NOT have been Middleton as the opponent either.
  3. You need to get your facts straight. Sure the Middleton - Lake County game at Middleton was tied at end of regulation play ... Middleton won by 5 points in overtime, not 1 as you say. As for the free throw ... I am quite sure that just as you say if Lake County had made theirs with 20 seconds they would have won ... there were several things that IF Middleton had made would have caused them to win in regulation time! Also, if Lake County had won their region and hosted the sectional instead of having to be the visitor in the sectional game, they would NOT have played Middleton. So, the idea that if it had been at Lake County is a mute point.
  4. Thanks for these comments. Your support is appreciated. I've always felt that if my team loses that I would want the team that beat us to go all the way! That way I could say we lost to the one that won. I also feel that when you get to this level that any game can go either way, just depending on how well the players are playing on each team. There are definitely NO guarantees and ALL of the present eight contenders could come out on top -- the same as any of these could be out on the first game.
  5. You asked, so I thought I would share the info in the sectional tournament program. These are in order of their jersey #, so don't read anything into the order the players are listed. Justin Hill - G - 5'8" sophomore Jammie Cheairs - G - 6' freshman Manuel Donis - G - 5'8" senior Johnny Tate - G - 6' junior Tabias Murden - G - 5'10" freshman Leon Hunt - G - 5'10" senior Monterrio Williams - G - 6' senior Chris Smith - F - 6'2" senior Marq Murden - G/F - 6' junior Randy Cheairs - F - 6'1" freshman Al McKinnie - F - 6'1" sophomore Darius Hart - C - 6'2" senior Cody Childers - F - 6'5" junior Chris Buggs - G/F - 6'3" junior Jamichael McKinnie - C - 6'3" junior The biggest thing going for this team is the way they work together as a team.
  6. Thanks Peabody Mom! And may I wish Peabody the best of luck in the state!
  7. The 1100 is NOT the total number that were in the gym as this number did not include the players, cheerleaders, coaches, etc. who had complimentary tickets of which LC got the same number as Middleton. Sure there were not 200 LC fans in the stands as there were not even 200 of them to purchase tickets. Also, it is not rude to not give up your seats to the visitors. A lot of Middleton fans did stand and they didn't complain. When you travel to another school, you have to accept what you get and you are lucky you got what you did. We could bicker back and forth but it will change nothing at all. So, I won't be responding to your rude comments any further!
  8. As I said, time will tell. Any team with good coaching and good players can beat any other team at any given time with the right circumstances. It does NOT mean we have to play every team in the state to say this. As for the possibility that we will be through after the first game, YES, we might, but it is not a done deal at this point and won't be until the final whistle sounds next Wednesday afternoon in Murfreesboro. At least we do get to go to state to play instead of being left out of the Elite 8!
  9. YES I can answer that! I know for a fact that Lake County had 500 tickets that they were given to sell by our principal. Mid-morning on Monday, the day of the game, LC school called our school and said they had sold about 200 and might need as many as 250. Then within the last hour or so of our school day LC called again and said 200 was all they needed. There were still close to 50 tickets that were sold at the door on a first come first serve basis. So, you were not limited other than what your fans limited you in their purchases. You had the opportunity to have 500 of the 1100 seats. Again, why would you expect less than 200 people to get an entire side of the gym. The sides are equal unlike in so many schools. I also find it very difficult to believe that the seating you got was only enough for 75 people unless your fans got there after at least one quarter of the game was over. The last time we hosted the sectional the seating was measured and it was verified that we had enough according to TSSAA! Next time win and you won't have to come here!
  10. You got the seats you paid for. And, yes the gym will hold 1100 - it has before. You are alloted 18 inches according to TSSAA per seat. If you want or need more space, you should have purchased two tickets. As far as I am concerned, that is all there is to that! As for one sided calling, I personally don't know as I was working at the gate and could only see the scoreboard. But, I doubt that the game was stolen from you as my spouse who watched the game and other Middleton fans shared about the very poor calls made in your favor. And, if you are trying to imply that the officials were for us over you, you need to check again ... TSSAA sends officials from another area of the state and we had no idea who they would be, no previous contact, and definitely no influence, etc. If you had wanted to host the game, you should have won your region and you would have had that right! Let's move on and get over petty things. As for Temple, time will tell. There is no A team that Middleton can't beat anymore than there is no team that can't beat us IF we have a bad game and/or the other team has a great game. Middleton earned their place at State. Now it is up to the teams and the coaches, with the support of the fans as to the outcome. Have a good day ...
  11. Congratulations for a job well done! Tell O. Kemp his Algebra teacher said Great Job!
  12. Thanks! Hardeman County has a great showing in State Tournaments this year -- 3 of the 4 basketball teams will be there ... this week and next!
  13. When LC only bought less than 200 tickets out of almost 1100 tickets sold, did you really think LC would have an entire side of the gym? A small area is all you paid for! I do agree that parking is horrible at Middleton, but that is true about a lot of places. Why should Middleton be expected to go to a neutral site when we met the requirements of TSSAA? We deserved our home court advantage.
