  4. Here is a word for the Middleton Tiger Mascot: Hey everybody, this is the Middleton Mascot, Troubles. I just wanted to thank everybody for all of the compliments that I've had. I really enjoyed being at the games, it was one of the best times that I've had mascoting. Since this is my senior year, that was my last time that I could mascot, I thought that I should go all out. I've never had the response that I got at the State Championship Saturday. It really meant a lot. Thanks again. Troubles
  5. Why would you??? You would if you want to sell papers in those outlying areas ... and also if you did wish to get advertisement from those areas. Why should businesses in those areas advertise with the Jackson Sun in addition to their local county paper when it would not increase their business??? Now, if you wish to sell your newspaper in an area (which brings in $$$) why would you not cover that area?
  6. #31 was Monterrio Williams and #35 was Marq Murden They are first cousins. Williams is a senior, Murden is a Jr.
  7. I remember Coach Day very well. He came to Grand Junction High School the year after I graduated and coached there until Grand Junction consolidated with Middleton. I taught at Grand Junction Elementary until the 7th and 8th graders went to Middleton at which time I transferred there. So, I had the privilege to teach with Coach Day for several years. I taught Bobby Parks at Grand Junction along with many of the other ball players from Grand Junction through the years. I am proud to say that I have now taught students from the 3 championship teams at Middleton. Coach Day's daughter, Kim, is the secretary at Middleton Elementary.
  8. http://www.jacksonsun.com/photogallery/200...Hoops/index.htm Bumping up ... these are great Peabodymom Thanks for sharing!
  9. In addition to Murden, Jamichael McKinnie, and Childers, we also have Al McKinnie, Chris Buggs, and Johnnie Tate to be back.
  10. You could have fooled me and most others who waste their time reading your posts. As of now, I will skip over your posts as they are not worth the time to even look at ... it was not wise of me to have wasted my time reading words from your mouth ... you must have felt it was worth your breath as it has been done since the sectional on March 7.
  11. Just remember that you are not the only one with the facts. And, others have the right to state facts. SO, show your rudeness again and tell others to SHUT UP... you need to follow your own advice. You will NOT have the last word ... as yours are not all the facts! As I said ... (more than once)
  12. Rebecca to be very honest with you I am sick and tired of your whining about Middleton. NOBODY took your seats. I checked the TSSAA regulations and we had to only have capacity for 1000 which we had. Quit your belly aching about having so few fans when 500 of your fans could have purchased tickets at your school until midday the day of the sectional. Also, anyone has the right to sit in any available seat at any of the sites of play. So, get over it. Also, as I was at the door let me assure you that unless your fans got to Middleton after the tipoff of the game they had seats available. I know that MANY of our fans did not arrive until near the end of the first quarter or even after. If your school cared at all about you getting seats and supporting the team they would have allowed you to check out early just like our school does. Our students and the students at our feeder schools even got out for "field trip" day the days we played in state ... Bolivar students and their feeder schools did the same thing. Put the "blame" where it belongs -- Lake County and its fans. And, quit your belly aching.
  13. Not really sure about any other team but I know that the boys from Middleton have indeed worked very hard to be ready for this week. From August until November they were conditioning like you wouldn't believe. They tired sometimes and some even tried to take shortcuts, but the others would report them. They wanted to get to the 'boro this week. After two years of losing out at the Sectional they wanted this and have worked for it. It was NOT the fact that all but one of the players is black, but that they wanted it. And, yes, they have a great coach with one state championship under his belt. Coach has a wonderful way with the boys. The boys do it for themselves and their coach ... I'll be there today to support these wonderful boys and the coach.
  14. Oh, but didn't you realize they lost to Peabody before they lost to Middleton. Middleton is the fresher defeat.
  15. Glad you and your mom think you have good sportsmanship. It has been evident to me and many more the lack of it you have. I want to see Hardeman County bring home two golds!
  16. Becky, How well we know you are not good at making predictions. Maybe it was just sour grapes ... wanting Middleton to lose to whoever they played. I have made NO predictions and won't now ... but, I will say this should be one good game tomorrow and I will be there to cheer on the Middleton Tigers.
  17. As to the why West TN is so dominant ... not really sure ... But, now there is no doubt...all gold balls will go to West TN tomorrow. Congrats to all the teams who played today ... everyone deserved to be there! Now, to see which three West TN teams will the gold is to be determined tomorrow. And, to think two of those could easily come to Hardeman County which only has two high schools. That would be awesome. Go Bolivar Central & O. Kemp -- your former Algebra teacher will be there to watch ... Go Middleton -- I will be there to support my many Algebra students tomorrow!
  18. Anything can happen! And, we are praying the gold comes back a bit more to the south part of West Tennessee ... to MIDDLETON!
  19. Not over zealous here. I have said all along and still say that any game can go either way ... depending on how the players play and the coaching they receive. I have at no time said that Middleton will win like some others have said about other teams ... Temple, Ezell Harding, Unaka, and Pickett County among them. But I do wish the Middleton Tigers the best AND will be rooting all the way tomorrow for them to bring home the gold!
  20. Anyone depending on trusting you on this misplaced their trust! I stand by what I have said all along -- any game can go either way ... depends upon the desire and play of the team along with the coaching they receive.
  21. Hey brother! I second that all the way!
  22. OK Rebecca (becky), how about a look at your homepage??? Since you have the link on your profile, I'm not sharing here anything you have not already shared! You tell us a lot about yourself. 23. And just when would this have happened? I thought you were so on top of every thing becca but obviously not.
  24. A big congratulations to all the teams who have played. Just the fact that these teams made it to state tells me they have a good team. I have said from the very beginning that each game can go either way -- depending upon how well (or how poorly) the team is playing at the time that their game takes place. I am sick and tired of those who think they know who will be in the finals. Nobody really knows until the games are over tomorrow. Then we will all know -- at the same time. I also don't think many (if any) really have knowledge of all the teams playing in any division. So saying ahead of time who will be in future games will depend on what the players (and coaches) do when it is their time for the 32 minutes of play -- and not what they have done in the regular season and previous tournament games this year! I think what we are seeing (or in my case hearing) during this tournament is how these great players (yes, every one of them) are doing at the time they play. Anyone can have a great game and anyone can have an off game, but that does not mean that the one who has an off game is not a good player. I also think a team that has several who can take the "star" role instead of depending on one or two players to do it has a better chance because if several can take that role then the chances of having someone who is having a good game take that position! I do think that is what makes Middleton a power to contend with ... we do have many more than our 5 starters who can be that "star" or "stars" in any given game. Sure, I want to see our Middleton Tigers bring home the gold ball ... and I think they will. But, I am NOT cocky enough that I will tell you the opposing team does not have a chance, etc. as many on here have done (just to find the team they favor go home). Also, it does not mean that the team that beats another today would beat the same team tomorrow. It can go either way each time a game is played!
