  1. We're up 14-0, second quarter. I know it's early but does anybody know when was the last time Pioneers beat a 6A team?
  2. Probably one of each teams few shots at a win. Since its in McMinnville, I'm gonna go with Pioneers 20-17
  3. 30 year old story. Nothing new just rewritten with different names
  4. If Jennings will take a little mustard off his throws, he'll be able to just pick WC apart. He's got all night to throw. Pioneers need to play smarter and stop beating themselves. Penalties are killing them. Should be a good second half
  5. Talked to a few WC players at the pep rally. Very confident bunch going into tonight's game, some even bordering on cocky. Had one say they would be 3-0 going into the Riverdale game. I hope they know something the rest of us don't. Look for the big Calbert kid to play some defense tonight especially if Jennings is banged up and not as mobile. I had earlier said Dekalb wins 50-14, change that to 35-21 Dekalb.
  6. Anybody that thinks Jennings is going to miss a shot at going 3-1 against WC is badly mistaken. I hope the Pioneers are not thinking they've got this in the bag, after two scrimmage wins against two teams that are way down. Tullahoma and White are no where near Dekalb's level at this time
  7. Pioneers will have to run the ball and control the clock. If they can't and Dekalb receivers catch what Jennings throws it'll be a long night for Warren. Pioneer DB's are going to have to show up. As much as I hope I'm wrong, DC 50 WC 14
  8. After watching this kid Friday night, I believe his best option if he really wants to be a future Vol is go the junior college route. Kid has all the talent in the world but he is raw, very raw for an o tackle. Go to a good JUCO, learn the position and go from there. JMO. The Stuart kid has the technique just not the height or arm length for a major college o line. Both should be playing college ball in the future though. JMO
  9. After actually watching the Pioneers for myself last night I can finally form an opinion. They have decent size on the o line but only run behind Stuart and Calbert. The big back is a handful and runs hard but doesn't have a lot of speed. The QB kind of reminds of a young Josh Dobbs, he's not going to beat you with his arm but can run effectively. Their run defense up the middle is adequate but anybody that has a decent option attack and can get outside will give them trouble. A good passing game is going to tear them up. They'll play hard but just don't have the overall athletic ability to hang with most of the teams they'll face. Not knocking the kids just stating what I observed against White County last night
  10. Last year the Pioneers claim to fame was nobody scored 50 points against them. How long will that streak continue this year.
  11. WC always seems to have some huge players but never seem to be able to do anything with them
  12. From what I hear, that's probably the only way the Pioneers can keep up with anybody this year. Haven't seen them but word is things are the norm at Pioneer Lane. How did the scrimmage go
  13. Is the Giles-Warren county scrimmage still on for Friday, May 20?
  14. Field house is finished except for padding around the steel pillars. Team should be using both it and the new weight room by March 1. This will be the first year the upcoming seniors will have the same coaching staff 2 years on a row. That's got be a positive.
  15. A couple that should help a lot. Just may finally have a little speed
