I seriously doubt any coach or fan is gonna put up a potential starting lineup

My apologies, I didn't see many fans hesitant to throw names out on the boards for each weight class, so  I guess I'll have to spend a couple of hours piecing those together instead.

Question though- Why is the starting line up such a secret in high school wrestling?  Football has the Murphy's Fair magazine every year that has almost every school in the state listing their projected starters from the pre-season and I am sure baseball and basketball have something similar;  College sport teams release their starting line ups to the media on a weekly basis-  So I am just curious, why is this such a secret?

195 will be interesting this season. I am uncertain of who is actually going to end up in this weight class. However. Here we go.

Favorite has to be returning champ Walling(mt. Juliet)

There are many folks who are very strong contenders. 195 has many who can get on a run and win it.

Gentry (Bradley) if he is here.

Williams (Clarksville), Noga (Wilson central), Brown (Science Hill), Miler (Mcgavock), Harp (Halls)

I am sure there are other contenders...

I've heard that Buckman from Halls is eyeing 195 this year. If so, he should be in the mix for a top 3 finish here.

I heard from a very reliable source this weekend that Buckman from Knox Halls will be at 195 this year and Harp will be going to 220 for the red devils.

  3. What are the potential starting line ups for these teams this year?  I understand a lot can change between now and February, and I am fully aware teams often "bump" wrestlers in duals, however I think it would be very interesting to see how teams are looking to line up from 106 to 285 for the 17-18 season.  If there are any coaches, teachers, parents, or fans of schools like Cleveland, Bradley Central, Science Hill, Beech, Soddy, Heritage, Arlington, TN High, Wilson Central, Knox Halls or any of the other schools that have been mentioned, could you please give us casual fans your potential starting line up so we can start looking at big match ups coming this season!

  4. SX1234, you may wanna change your Rd2 winners bracket from WC over Cleveland to WC over Science Hill. Maj may agree with you being spot on with everything but I'm gonna def disagree here.

Yes thank you, I meant Science Hill there not Cleveland.  I was doing too many things at once yesterday, typing that out from my notes and still trying to make it look like I was really doing something productive while at work! lol

  5. Haven't seen a whole lot of wrestling this year, especially teams from outside my area, still thought I would make a bracket though just from what I have seen, read, or heard about over the course of the year.  Please let me know if this could be close, and if not, where am I wrong and why.

  6. Essential Micro Nutrients go a long way with young athletes because they do not receive essential amounts throughout their diet.  Most teenage boys eat a lot of junk food, or even if it is semi- "healthy" 3/4ths of what they eat is probably processed food.  To account for the vitamins and minerals that they are not receiving in their nutrition a multi-vitamin honestly goes a lot further than most people will realize in their performance (especially when they are cutting weight!!!).  I work as a personal trainer and that is honestly the first thing I prescribe to any of my athletes.  After that, for high school level athletes, I would keep it simple and stay with amino acids in the form of BCAAs and Glutamine.  Also Creatine has huge benefits despite what some people may argue religiously.  Then everybody knows about protein or weight gainer supplements which you can add (I personally believe in going the real food route for my macros, but that's just my opinion) and if you really want to invest you can add in little things like fish oil, L-carnitine, or CLA which are all beneficial but not really necessary.  That is honestly the entire list of options I would advise anyone under the age of 18 to take, and as far as specific name brands are concerned- anything made by BSN or Optimum Nutrition will be a high quality product in any of those categories as they are the 2 best companies in the supplement industry (really 1 as they are owned by the same people)

I know that was a lot of rambling- but hope that helps!
