Missed on the Perry County and Middleton games.
This weeks lineups:
Summertown @ Wayne County
Huntingdon @ Waverly
Mt Pleasant @ Collinwood
Stewart County @ McEwen
Perry County @ Houston County
Hollow Rock Bruceton @ Greenfield
Alcorn (Miss) Central @ Middleton
Wayne County, Collinwood, McEwen, Perry County, Bruceton should come out with the W.
Huntingdon has their hands full and should be a battle, just think Waverly has too much offense. Should be a battle.
Don't know anything about Alcorn so I don't know how Middleton will do.
Any thoughts?
Middleton will win this week.

Looks like Middleton at Humboldt has the most potential to be a close game
Totally agree. They played each other back in the middle of the season and Humboldt won by 5. As good as Humboldt is playing and has played all season long, Middleton has the ability to come in and pull off an upset. It will take a solid, all-around effort for Middleton to win in that hostile environment for sure.

Please consider, Senior F/C, Chelsey Perry of Middleton for Miss Basketball, Class A. She is a 2.5 year starter for the Lady Tigers. Chelsey is a 4.0 student who signed with UT Martin as a junior last year. You won't find a better young lady than Chelsey to represent this great state.
2014-15 (10th grade) 315 points, 273 reb, 56 blocks, 81 steals, 34 assists, 56 FG%, 74 FT%
2015-16 (11th grade) 413 points, 385 reb, 87 blocks, 95 steals, 65 assists, 51 FG%, 68 FT%
2016-17 (12th grade) 332 points, 236 reb, 109 blocks, 36 steals, 49 assists, 51 FG%, 80 FT%
(Thru 1/30/17)
Chelsey has totaled so far through her 2.5 seasons: 1060 pts, 1004 rebounds, 252 blks
In 2014-15 Chelsey helped lead the Lady Tigers to the Class A State Championship with a perfect 35-0 record. She was named to the All-District Team for District 15A. She was also named State Tournament MVP for Class A.
In 2015-16 Chelsey helped lead the Lady Tigers to the Class A State Final Four with a 32-1 record. She was named to the All-District and All-District Tournament Teams for District 15A, and All-Region Team for Region 8A. She was a member of the All-State Tournament Team. She was named an All-State Selection, and was also named 1st Team All-West Tennessee.
Chelsey also helped lead the Lady Tigers to 67 consecutive victories over the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
Thank you for your consideration for Chelsey Perry for Miss Basketball, Class A.

A lot of the turnovers were not due to Haywood's defense; rather, with Middleton breaking in new players in key positions this year that barely saw the floor last year, and have not played in that environment. Haywood also made shots when they needed to as Shutes and the PG made shots all night. Middleton missed a bunch of chippy shots around the basket and failed to convert at the line in key situations.

I can tell you firsthand that Coach Palmer, who was promoted at JC is a great guy that in no way was looking to replace Coach Roland as coach. I have coached with him in Alabama and my son played for him in both basketball and football in Alabama. He is as good as they come, and an overall great guy. He knows football and will be successful, regardless of the move to DII, although that will definitely help. He gets the most from his players, too, so I think the move was a good one.
Coach Roland is a class act coach and his reputation definitely precedes him; however, for anyone to think Coach Palmer was purposefully seeking to replace Roland as HC is ridiculous.

I noticed Memphis Middle College wasn't listed in A, either. Their enrollment is around 299-300, so would that bump Fairley up to AA?
-
This is what I have at the moment. I wasn't positive on some of the very small schools. With three schools at the end of the Class A group having the same enrollment it made the counts 108, 106, 105. Any private schools unexpectedly staying in would throw these counts off, as would new schools (probably charters) adding teams, or any of these not fielding teams. There are about 5 without the latest numbers up on the TSSAA site the last I looked, which could also move things around a bit.

Riley Ragan for JCS will be one of the best players in the district this year. JCS lost a couple of good players to graduation, and I believe Josh Cole transferred to North Side this year. Middleton will have a great trio of Reaves, Parks, and Jones, and I believe that will be too much for the Eagles to handle.

Well said westtnsportsfan....That's my point as well. GC played some of those teams as well including Westviiew who probably will be making another trip to the 'Boro Middleton is good ,I'm not saying that. You don't win 65 games and not be good. I was just making a prediction. "That's why they play the game"
Best of luck to your team on Saturday. Hopefully the top two teams in the state will meet where it counts.

Not saying you are wrong. But from what I have seen GC beat Liberty by 30+ twice this year and handle Haywood pretty easy early. I'm not saying Dresden is better than the two but definitely right on par with them at least
It'll be a good game and great atmosphere for sure.

I agree. It was one of the better games I've watched in that gym in quite some time. (Been going to them for about 15 years or more). Dresden is the real deal folks. I agree with others who say that Dresden lost control in the last 2-3 minutes. You can press GC if you want, but they can handle it for the most part. Dare say there is not a better conditioned team in West Tennessee than GC Lady Pioneers.
I am picking Dresden to win against Middleton. Middleton better be ready, because I can guarantee Dresden is the best team they have played all year. (my opinion)
Lausanne, Liberty, and Haywood are all better than Dresden so "best team Middleton has played" is moot. (My opinion)
Middleton hasnt lost in nearly 3 years at home, and they won't lose this one either. Funny how people don't think Middleton is good or played anybody, yet they have won 65 straight games.
Middleton is ready for Dresden, you can bank on that.

Middleton will be ready. Burkley will have his girls primed and ready to go.

Give it to Coach Courtney...She lost a lot of talent off of last year's team, and has still fought back to substate again. Obviously losing those seniors hurt, but they can still put up points, and also have one of the best players in West TN in La'sha Scott. They have good perimeter shooters, and are very disciplined on the offensive end. They throw a lot of different looks on defense as well. The knocks on them are they're not very deep (7 at most), and not very big (Goff maybe 5'8 and Scott 5'9).
That said, I think Gibson wins by 15...White, Lannom, and Fields are too much, and also factor in the home court advantage as well.

Dresden is a good team, no doubt, and anyone has a chance at the stage of the game; however, Middleton will win at home by 10.
