  1. 56-26 WC. WC is a very classy team. Hope you guys have a good rest of the season.
  2. Upwards of 5 inches of rain is predicted.
  3. Middleton will win this week.
  4. Totally agree. They played each other back in the middle of the season and Humboldt won by 5. As good as Humboldt is playing and has played all season long, Middleton has the ability to come in and pull off an upset. It will take a solid, all-around effort for Middleton to win in that hostile environment for sure.
  5. Please consider, Senior F/C, Chelsey Perry of Middleton for Miss Basketball, Class A. She is a 2.5 year starter for the Lady Tigers. Chelsey is a 4.0 student who signed with UT Martin as a junior last year. You won't find a better young lady than Chelsey to represent this great state. 2014-15 (10th grade) 315 points, 273 reb, 56 blocks, 81 steals, 34 assists, 56 FG%, 74 FT% 2015-16 (11th grade) 413 points, 385 reb, 87 blocks, 95 steals, 65 assists, 51 FG%, 68 FT% 2016-17 (12th grade) 332 points, 236 reb, 109 blocks, 36 steals, 49 assists, 51 FG%, 80 FT% (Thru 1/30/17) Chelsey has totaled so far through her 2.5 seasons: 1060 pts, 1004 rebounds, 252 blks In 2014-15 Chelsey helped lead the Lady Tigers to the Class A State Championship with a perfect 35-0 record. She was named to the All-District Team for District 15A. She was also named State Tournament MVP for Class A. In 2015-16 Chelsey helped lead the Lady Tigers to the Class A State Final Four with a 32-1 record. She was named to the All-District and All-District Tournament Teams for District 15A, and All-Region Team for Region 8A. She was a member of the All-State Tournament Team. She was named an All-State Selection, and was also named 1st Team All-West Tennessee. Chelsey also helped lead the Lady Tigers to 67 consecutive victories over the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons. Thank you for your consideration for Chelsey Perry for Miss Basketball, Class A.
  6. A lot of the turnovers were not due to Haywood's defense; rather, with Middleton breaking in new players in key positions this year that barely saw the floor last year, and have not played in that environment. Haywood also made shots when they needed to as Shutes and the PG made shots all night. Middleton missed a bunch of chippy shots around the basket and failed to convert at the line in key situations.
  7. I can tell you firsthand that Coach Palmer, who was promoted at JC is a great guy that in no way was looking to replace Coach Roland as coach. I have coached with him in Alabama and my son played for him in both basketball and football in Alabama. He is as good as they come, and an overall great guy. He knows football and will be successful, regardless of the move to DII, although that will definitely help. He gets the most from his players, too, so I think the move was a good one. Coach Roland is a class act coach and his reputation definitely precedes him; however, for anyone to think Coach Palmer was purposefully seeking to replace Roland as HC is ridiculous.
  8. I noticed Memphis Middle College wasn't listed in A, either. Their enrollment is around 299-300, so would that bump Fairley up to AA?
  9. Wow...Memphis East in Single A? Geez, just give them the gold ball if that is the case.
  10. Riley Ragan for JCS will be one of the best players in the district this year. JCS lost a couple of good players to graduation, and I believe Josh Cole transferred to North Side this year. Middleton will have a great trio of Reaves, Parks, and Jones, and I believe that will be too much for the Eagles to handle.
  11. Best of luck to your team on Saturday. Hopefully the top two teams in the state will meet where it counts.
  12. It'll be a good game and great atmosphere for sure.
