It's never been any different there in Cannon Co.  Sadly, there's still some of these Counties/Communities that just refuse to get it right.....for those at stake......the kids!!!

Strong Tie for #1 dumpster fire - Cannon Co. or Grundy Co.!?!?!?

    I think Grundy wins this!

From the outside looking in, it appears that things won't change in Grundy Co., at least not for now.  I hate that for you folks because you feel like your hands are tied and at the mercy of people who have no moral compass or direction for the youth in their own community.   It sounds like those at the top of the food chain are threatened by anything that will better their educational system.

As long as they don't interfere with my monthly trips to the Pelham exit for my monthly mason jar deliveries, I'm good.

    Excellent post!!!

Me and my parents talked to him after the game last year. Very respectful and the kids coming out of the locker room helped my mother carry something to her car. Class act all the way, and it showed that the coach and parents are definitely teaching them to be outstanding young men

Something we have lacked in Grundy. We’ve had those caliber kids...just poor leadership.

Good luck to Coach Meeks !  Hopefully he has Daryl Graham out there with them, sounds like they need some time with Coach Graham to remember who they are and who they represent.

I think Coach Graham should have been coaching at the high school. I don’t think he would’ve let so much happen.

Nope, not a coach, just a friend of a coach that was FALSELY accused by idiots up there because their kid wasn't any good and didn't get the playing time that their parents thought that they should. I do think it's a hoax because I have heard that there was no body fluids found on the object that was used. Its funny that if this wasnt a hoax, then why did these guys go eat breakfast together that morning after it happened?  Now if you have ever wanted torture your self and have ever watched one of those board meetings you would know that they have been after Tate, Helton, and Kinsey for over a year now. That what all of this boils down too and it wouldn't surprise me that they were found not guilty when this is all over with. Remember, this is Grundy Co. and they aren't below doing something like this to try and get their way.

You sir are an idiot! A hoax? Go tell the parent of the victim this. What the heck does it matter if bodily fluid was left or not. Video evidence. Thank God you got out of this county.

That sheriff is a JOKE, way more than anyone else up there. He loves the spotlight and to hear himself talk. He talks about cases even before he has an ounce of evidence. I wouldn't believe a word that idiot says. It sounds like those 2 boys were suspended for that just as I had heard that Coach Brewer was suspended because he saw kids down there the day before and he didn't say anything. The coach shouldn't be blamed when those kids were their in that building without permission, or at least that was what I have heard.

The sheriff does his job more than the other. Others have to tell him because it don’t come from school officials. Like last year money comes up missing from girls basketball..that tried to get under the rug. I believe coaches involved with this are suspended for other reasons.::stay tuned.

    incredibly well use words :thumb:

dont know the coach....but u have a couple of individuals who have so much hate for this coach that they themselves cant even see the really unfortunate accused WRONG doin in this situation....they themselves have a bad point5in compass......what these kids have been accused of chosin to do own their own, goes way past that coach

    Booger just sayin

I can definitely see the wrong doing. A coach should guide his team not just on the field. I've had family that played for this guy. He has known and allowed so much to go on. Had that not been dealt with we wouldn't be in this unfortunate situation. My compass is pointing in the right direction bc 90% of Grundy knows what has been let go in that field house. These kids that performed this act probably felt they would not get caught because there have never been any consequences. Are the kids to blame? Without a doubt, but if you are a player and your leader from day 1 year 1 allows acts to occur he's not a leader. Kids will do what they are allowed to get away with.  Booger just saying!

Them 5 boys are going to get what they deserve now, no excuses for what they did, they’ve earned what they got coming to them, as a survivor of sexual abuse( something that to this date only several people know of)  I’m mortified by Clint’s description of what happened, and I hope they spend years in therapy getting help for a sick act that deserves no sympathy from  anyone...

However,   Them 2 boys that did nothing but get up an go to work day after day, need to not be punished for working hard.

Suspending them for bettering themselves is a joke.   If what they did was wrong then I wouldn’t want to be right, because I was allowed by many of the same coaches to do the same exact thing routinely.

I also see through that move though, good move principal and board members, school board has to have a great lawyer!!!  Can’t be held liable if you claim they had no permission to be there!!!!

Why in the world would the 2 Nunley boys be suspended? I recall Jerry Brown, the basketball coach, getting suspended without pay for kids not supposed to be there. Hmmm..why are punishments not the same. A true coach would take the blame and innonceny kids would not be punished. Just another prime example at how corrupt the system is. Just glad the sheriff got wind of this because if not nothing would have been done.

Casey should be fired for allowing it to happen

If Casey would've been fired his 1st year for things allowed in that locker room kids lives could have been better. I'm not just speaking on the wins and losses---I'm talking about their well beings

Terrible to hear the news about Grundy. Hope it don't ruin it for all the kids. Not sure how they recover from this, at least this year. Wishing your luck and prayers your way to the victim, other players and community.

Thank you. It would be different if you all knew previous things that have been let go. I'm not talking about minor things---major things--not to this extreme--but very close. It's always been kept hush hush.

Big win over a ranked opponent. Sequatchie went ahead late, Smith drove down the field but was stopped with a fourth down sack at the Sequatchie 15 with about 10 second left. Indians ran the ball well and took lots of time off the clock including a 19 play, 9+ minute drive in the second quarter. Passing very effective too.

Smith was a very good team. York, Upperman, will be hard opponents too and can't forget a rival in Grundy. Indians will have to refocus for a winless Cumberland team with homecoming next week to put aside for a couple of hours on Friday night.

Rival or not you all will run us all over the field. We possibly have a 2 in a row win streak—never happened under Tate’s watch. Tate has already said Barger will give away his plays. Last year it was Woodley told Caine what Grundy does so y’all beat us. Good luck on the rest of the season except when playing us.

Grundy should win big, but Casey will try his best to screw it up like he did last year. Grundy has a chance to win two games in a row for the first time in 4 years but we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully Grundy will win for the kids sake.

Our kids deserve this win. Cannon is bad...on top of them being bad they are making a lot of self inflicted wounds.

  13. 13 hours ago, Jnutz2 said:

He lost the players and coaches last year. If that idiot principle keeps Tate I'll be shocked if Grundy will have a team. As far as changing offense again he done that every week last year because he's to stupid to be around kids, having authority over kids, and the obvious he can't coach a lick. I promise you you this if they win he'll walk around like a peacock with feathers out. When Dunlap and Smith beat us down he'll blame a kid and coach.

    Amen! You are exactly right.

Let  me ask you a question. Why do you think these Grundy boys is moving away from that heep of mess? That Tate man was too scared to play Grider this year. You think im joking but im not.

I don't blame them one bit for moving. It's just sad for the kids whose parents don't have the opportunity to up and move. If they did we might not have 11 players. Tate says Vic and Mathis didn't want to play us.
