So prior to tonight Meigs fans were saying we want Marion again. It won't be like the first time, we've improved. They lose, and now say Marion as bad as they want versus team that just beat you? Makes sense. 😂

Sure Meigs wanted another crack at Marion....I mean they were taken to the woodshed 2 years in a row!

Not that as a Meigs fan I thought they'd have a shot at beating Marion but, maybe just tighten the score a bit more.

So Meigs lost .....still the kids made a good run!

Sure I think Marion will do what they do and proceed to the semifinals with ease.

Being from the same region it seems fitting to support them.

Makes perfect sense to me.

The after game activities were very unfortunate. I'm sure both sides will look back and wish it would have went differently. Let's not let that overshadow what was a Great high school playoff game.

I will agree it was a great game. Everyone school has certain should we say "followers" that can get out of hand. Its not tied to just one school or another. But, I would not say say either team was completely innocent. Tension was high it was an important game for both teams. Coupled with teenagers and a contact sport things can sometimes escalate quickly. I enjoyed the game.

I am still pulling for the other MC from Region 3!

Hopefully we can represent region 3 next week. I can remember a few fans losing faith in the Tigers after our game early this season. I along with a few other Marion fans said you had all the pieces there. Just had to get everyone on the same page. 30 seconds away from a qtr final game shows they got it together but just came up a little short. Motivation for next year. Great season Tigers!

LOL......no push off (only the refs had a better view than I), wasn't even close to a push, so that's sore loser delusion talking right there. Meigs may have been one of the dirtiest teams I've seen in a long time. If you don't want penalty yards, don't commit penalties. Its called playing disciplined football. Maybe you'll be better next year. Oh, and leave all the inbred, fight starting fans at home next time.

Let's not cry about it now. Meigs had MULTIPLE penalties over and over again that cost them dearly. Forrest was the more disciplined team; thus, the reason they put themselves in position to win the game. Game-winning TD was caught by a Mr. Football semi-finalist. Big players make big plays when the game is on the line.

 

All I've seen on this thread this week was that Forrest stood no chance against Meigs. That Meigs would win big, that Meigs would win by multiple scores. 84% of CoachT users had Forrest losing. Great to see them overcome every doubter they've face this season.

 

Bring on Marion County. We'll be ready for them.

I am only stating a fact Marion is tough!!!

I'm pulling for Region 3. Marions D is one of the best if not the best in the state.

Meigs was never expected to see a 1st round game. So to make it to a 2nd round and to have all those penalty yards.....yet still be able to take it to the wire. I think they done a fantastic job!

I'm giving credit to the coaches and most importantly the kids!!!! Great season Meigs will have some good teams on the way.

Oh by the way even though we didn't have a Mr. Football semi-finalist we had a few pretty big plays of our own.

On to basketball I think Meigs makes a trip to the glass house this year!!!

Heard Forrest player had an obvious push off to make catch. Any truth?

Lots of people thought so..Meigs had a bunch of penalties offsides and holding. Forrest didn't have very many at all. Still both teams fought hard was a good game. Meigs had a great season. Coach is really building a solid program. I think if things stay on the up and up the Tigers will make some more runs.

 

I'm gonna say after what I saw tonight. I hope Forrest is ready cause the other MC from Region 3 is going to be way more than a handful.

The Warriors will do what they do and score at will!!!!

Forrest as not played well on long road trip games for the past several years. We came out very flat. JC scored just before half to lead 14-0 at half. 3rd qtr was dominated by Forrest and tied the score at 14. JC broke a long run on 3rd down from midfield in the 4th.Missed extra point to lead 20-14. Forrest got the ball with a few minutes left and was intercepted in the end zone. JC made the plays and won with no excuses from us. They were the better team that night. Forrest did not look sharp last week, maybe Tyners D but , mostly very sloppy. "IF" Forrest plays to its capabilities and being home we should win. We play like last week meigs will win by 3 scores

I'm not predicting anything. Hopefully a great game for both sides. Meigs has been looking good as of late. Hoping they can keep up the pace on the road. Should be a crowd of Tiger fans coming with them!

So....I'm curious as to what happened during the Jackson County Vs. Forrest game? I'm not being ugly either I know we saw Jackson County. Our new friend ( and possibly biggest fan) Dr. Amerigha likes to talk about past games but, has never offered a synopsis on that one.

 

Again, not being ugly I'd just like to know. Teams have bad nights. I know Meigs sure had one at Marion. Started out bad and went in a downward spiral from there.

I have to disagree. I've seen video of the nonathletic Meigs kids running around, over, and away from the Tyner kids. There is no athletic shortcoming they will have to overcome with better coaching. #'s 17, 19, 1, and 23 are as good or better than anyone on the Tyner squad. Big lineman and very good looking skill players on that squad.

Not making any predictions here. But, I would not underestimate Meigs County in athletic ability or preparation. These kids have made huge progress since the first of the season. However, it is a long trip. I think it should be a good game.

No matter the outcome I'm awful proud of these Tigers!!!!

For real? LMBO. Boyd Buchanan isn't scoring on anyone. Your region isn't very good this season. Meigs can probably win a game or two in the playoffs, but that's probably the ceiling.

If you had been watching Meigs for as long as I have you'd know that most of us will be happy with one playoff win. I just don't understand why when a team wins it just can't be what it is......We all know they had a very, very bad game against Marion. No excuses for that loss. But, week after week I see the kids improve.

 

The number of seniors has nothing to do with it when most of them haven't even played 4 full years and some don't even start. I'm just saying Meigs out played their opponent and got the W.

 

Respect the kids for their efforts. After all, it's all about them. I'm just a has been in the stands.

FYI I don't think any MC fans said anything about your play. Personally I'm just happy we caught you early. Like myself and other MC posters have said, it looks like you guys are playing much better ball as of late.

 

Some of the MC girls played summer ball with the Silverdale girls. Don't understand why that was even mentioned?

Guess you just had to see it in person to understand. From the comments I heard being tossed around at the tournament I know exactly why I mentioned it. I'm not a fan of Silverdale. With very good reason.

 

Seems we didn't impress one poster "on either side of the ball". So I was just saying I didn't care if we did or didn't.

 

Doesn't matter it's in the past. I'm moving on now. To the games in front.... hoping for a playoff game.

 

With a little luck maybe the kids can scratch out a W Friday.
