I suspected this was coming as the clock wound down in Clarksville in week 11. Maybe earlier than that. Coach Watson and his whole family are just super people, I've loved them from day 1 back when the announcement was made in December of 2018. I'm thankful to call them friends. I'm also thankful for the positives he brought to Gallatin. He did some really good things. Unfortunately the nature of the beast when coaching at most high school programs that have had any kind of success, if you don't win you don't stay. That's just how it works. We want to wish him and his family the very best at where he lands.
So was he asked to leave?

Will Wilson Cates come back home to take over?

Gordy will have trouble with any team with speed

They can pay whatever the board approves...or, they could combine one head coach and one assistant coach supplement and split the total between the two.
Where there's a will, there's a way.
Very good logic! It will work out for SP either way it looks like.
-
Obviously the co-head coaches worked out great for them this year, but surely they can't pay both of them head coaching salaries.

Those 5 returners are 5 very good building blocks.

What is the latest on the coaching search?

Is the Hampton QB getting any looks from any D1-AA (FCS) schools as a DB or maybe WR? He's a FOOTBALL PLAYER!

Summit’s coach was salty, don’t really know why, great performance by Oakland, Wade twins are fighters though
I noticed this as well. Anyone know what the deal was?

I got just a little teary eyed tonight. Worked with these kids in the weight room all summer ,told them they could be special, they worked their guts out and its paying off. I knew if they played as hard as they worked ,we had a shot. To be tough, you have to learn to do tough things. Great things don't come easy.
Best thing I’ve read on here

It always comes back to fundamentals. Cloudland ran for 360 yards out of the wildcat. You can be successful with great fundamentals
Facts! I’m willingly to bet they didn’t run more than 4 plays either.

WHHOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO,Prouwd to be a Bulldog,Thought we were in trouble when Lyons went down, hope and pray the youngun can play with his team in the state, was crying his eyes out when he seen we had the win. Tough luck to Trousdale, you made us ERARN it, those 2 goal line stands was impressive to say the least. Liked Trousdale before they came and still like um now, Like I've said all along,Hampton ,Oneida and Trousdale, my kinda teams. A big shout out to The Highlanders, heard they earned a little respect and THANKS A TON TO ETOWN,for cheering soooooo hard for all of Carter Co. We should be loud and Proud in Chattahhoghi Next Saturday.
Happy for you @pujo. Enjoy the moment. Especially with your son playing. There is nothing like seeing your kids succeed in something they love and work so hard at. What number is he by the way?

Congratulations Hampton hope you’ll win it all. The better team won Hampton out played and out coached TC. Great adjustments in the 4th Hampton my hats off to you’ll. Hopefully this opens TC coach staff that we need to change out of this wing t offense. But TC will be back next year with a healthy starting QB don't know how good we will be but we will see.
Just curious……….
Out coached? Adjustments? It looked like to me both teams did what they have done all year. Nothing unusual by either team. Hampton blocked TC better than TC blocked Hampton. Play calling doesn’t matter as much as kids executing the call no matter the offense. Execution can make any call look good.
Change from the Wing-T offense? TC has been to the semifinals the last 4 yrs. Why change? If TC blocks a just a little better they win. That has nothing to do with them being in the spread, I-formation or Wing-T. You still have to block in any scheme. I love the spread but TC doesn’t have the kids to run it. And just because they have speed doesn’t mean they can or should. Or just because a kid can throw the ball doesn’t mean he should be in the shotgun. There is a lot of good passing plays from the Wing-T. TC just hasn’t been able run them.

Congrats to Hampton! Those kids should be loving the idea of facing a possible future Bama QB. Not to mention a Mr Football I’m sure. That community deserves a taste of the big dance. I have loved the mutual respect from both sides this week.
I would have never expected this TC team to make it to the semifinals and loose by 2. Can’t be up 20-8 in the 4th and loose. But all in all….great season by TC.
The team that blocks and tackles the best will always win. Play calling matters, but not as much as blocking and tackling. Hampton was the better blocking team tonight. And that’s what mattered.

Will this be on the NFHS Network?

How big are those Hampton hog molly's? I know the last time TC went up there they were gigantic!

I hear Eddie George may make a visit...
You mean someone would actually ask Eddie George to come speak to the team before a big game? Can anyone confirm this? This can't be true.

I can't believe a small community would come together to support their football team before a big game.

I’m sure a lot of TC folk will change their tune about Blake and the program after the win tonight lol
-
Injuries and depth in the O-line will make this a very tough game for TC. Especially with Holder going down last week. Overall he is probably the best offensive lineman and very good on defense as well.

No, it did not start with Blake, it starts with what the town will accept as normal. Abusive coaches, parents, authority figures, zero accountability for certain players, and god help us the fencebirds like you guys.
You guys now praise Waggoner, but the truth is he left because of the toxicity. Toxic staff, admin, players, fans, parents.
I guess after last night you guys are ready to scream you're going for a gold ball.
2A is trash without Peabody, easily the worst division in TN.
Sounds like you want a country club atmosphere

I don't need your advice on any decisions I might make for my son's future. Bad apples you say? I will repeat, never observed the likes of a fan base allowed to act like TC (some) act that is.
Just trying to make some sense 2 you lol. Again......everyone has "some" of them.

Nailed it! After last Friday night, I can say 100% with out a doubt, the way some of the TC faithful was allowed to act toward the WHS football players, was the most disrespectful thing I have ever witnessed in over 30 years of following or coaching high school football. And I will follow up again with the security guards, which is even worse that I have found be admission by a TC poster that these "security guards" are exactly officers as well (with some who have kids that play). Then on top of that another TC poster directs all to see on here to an incident where a mascot gets assaulted after a game that TC apparently lost. Don't want any part of that type atmosphere or surroundings for my son or family what so ever! I don't care if a Gold Ball is won every year. Disgusting at best.
You may want to take your son to a private school in Nashville then. I am sure Watertown along with every other community has some bad apples at their games.
Where does DCA go?
