We had to take what we could get!

I hear a few of those good players at DC were DB players not long ago....At least that's the word in Washington Co

No DB guy's or SH, pure DC.  I guess those kids that were talking about coming is wanting to wait it out and see how it goes with DC.  What I understand is Coach Sensabaugh has got his kids understanding that better facilities will come if you win and I believe they have bought into it. A lot of talent, yes 1 OT/DE D1 commit, but there are really at least 4 others that will be able to play D1 on that team. He has a group of guys.

  2. how did the meet and greet go, i was going to go myself but had to work late.  I bet you have some excited people at Crockett.  I am sure he will be very organized and go about installing his offense and defense quickly..  Having been a defensive back for Dallas and Jacksonville he will have some great tricks to equalize crockett's opponents. i am stoked for the upcoming season.  I think i now want to be a head football coach.  You do not need any coaching experience, i can do that, you need to find a class that has an athletic director form a local high school in it, become friends and viola, i can become a head coach. Just remember old davy crockett and his band of Tennesseans went down to Texas and fought at the Alamo, things did not go well.  Again, wonder how many people would let you do brain surgery on your son or daughter?  no, i dont have any experience at all but i did stay in a holiday inn once and i have watched many episodes of grey's anatomy, code black, general hospital.  I dont really see how anything could go wrong.  no medical school but i did mow a surgeons yard one summer.  Sometimes he brought me a glass of lemonade and we sat on his porch.  yes i can be a surgeon!

You got to be kidding me! I guess being so negative about a person that has been given a shot at something that you didn't get makes a huge difference.

  3. helpful hints to the proable next head fb coach at crockett:

-if you are a db indians fans you will be very happy

    -not a certified teacher

-never has been a head football coach

-never been a paid assistant for coaching football, nor a offensive, defensive or special teams coordinator

-only been a volunteer assistant for a very short time, very short

-is a professional bass fisherman as his main job presently

-played professional football, very good player

    -very like able guy

-comes from a very athletic family well known in eastern tennessee

Crockett has been built into a very competitive football team by coach jeremy bosken who when he took over had served as an assistant coach for several years at science hill and also served as a very successful offensive coordinator at a high school  out of state before coming to crockett.  does it not make sense to honor his and his assistant coaches hard work and the players themselves by giving the kids a experienced coach to lead the program.

Any high school football program, especially a 5A program should never  have the settle for a coach who is learning on the fly?

the answer is unfortunately and probably no, in this day and age we go with the big name, the photo op in the paper.  If the person can coach great, if not everyone will learn their lesson and choose better next time.  Never forget it is sometimes about the kids!!!!!!

For a place like David Crockett is that a bad thing? Not trying to be confrontational but with money problems and the program on the rise. Would bringing someone in that has some notoriety be a bad thing? I guest spring practice will tell us all. I'm actually thinking, WATCH OUT FOR THE PIONEERS!!! No one has ever been interested in doing anything for our kids!

  4. One thing you got to put in perspective is Crockett never really had any kids from football going anywhere before Bosken. Maybe 1 or 2 every other season. I don't think that Crockett football even had 30 kids total on the roster before Bosken. Now you do have serious talent coming up. Whoever takes over will be set up right, there is freshman quarterback that transferred in from somewhere that under the right direction will definitely go far. A freshman running back and a sophomore LB that are going to be great for the next few years. You have that 6' 6"  kid that is a beast and already has D1 offers and he would be welcome on any team in the state. I just hope for our community the administration hires someone to fill Bosken's shoes, with at least the same desire to make these kids able to compete with the talent in the conference. But I have a bad feeling Washington Co. will do the good ole boy thing and Crockett goes back to being the bottom dwellers.

  5. I think Crockett is looking for a little redemption from the Musket Bowl loss. If the right kids show up, they very well could give Gibbs a game. Boone and Crockett have some very physical players. Turner and Presnall for Boone have impressed me all season and Barnett, Lewis and Collie for Crockett are a handful for any offense. I know it's a slim chance but wouldn't it be cool to see the Musket Bowl all over again in round 3?

  6. It's almost time! I hope it's also a clean game, but aggressive. I understand that players on both sides will be drawing attention from some colleges at this game. It's been a long time since college coaches attended the Musket Bowl. To me, that is attributed to coaching from both teams. I just can't put a prediction on this game, it is a complete, "who wants it bad enough" game. So, I hope these boys show out.
