Pretty close although i think wilson Central might be true second in AAA, so you could flip those two. After that i would flip soddy to 10th and arlington up to 9th, but at that point it doesnt really matter, but I would love to have seen that dual since both wrestled closely with Brentwood.

Too bad TSSAA doesn't wrestle for true second like they do in AAU.

What is it the kids say these days - shaking my darn head

I was complimenting all those that participated without feeling the need to feel they had find a scapegoat in officiating.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the kid from Arlington blew his nose on the mat?  That is what I understood, though it was not my match.  I could be citing the wrong match, but I know this incident involved Brentwood.

Different match.  That was a match point - the wrestler lost in OT because he blew his nose on the edge of the mat, not a team point.

Hat tip to this thread. I havent been here in a couple of years, but at the Duals all weekend.

For 18 pages the officiating has gone unsathed.   The back and forth has been excellent.

Pulled an MJ?  Meaning undeserved victory?

I think we have all resigned ourselves to the fact that many of the officials in Tennessee want to be the center of the show and insert themselves in too many match situations.  Case in point, you said yourself you haven't been here in a couple of years but felt the need to come on and mention the officials.  Typical official behavior.

That being said, there are some VERY good officials in our state and the officiating at State seemed decent for the most part.  There are always those head scratchers where you are wondering how the official's regressed back to their teenage days when they can't hold their own temper and decide to insert themselves and make a difference in the match.  The Arlington match is a good example.  No excuses but I'm not sure that was the proper call.

  5. Sounds like Coach Smith must have a big landscaping project coming up soon.

I agree that Coach Smith has moved wrestling forward in the state and there are SEVERAL others that have done the same all across the state.  It would be a disservice to try to name them all because there are so many that are not with the high profile teams that will be missed.

Ben that was nice of you to name Coach Smith......now, I hope you get the job. ;)

I have started no fight!  I was simply defending myself against DaBears smart comment about SH fans.  All season long I have simply supported my team.  I have not fought against anyone and tried to keep it positive but as others have pointed out DaBears trolls everyone who is not Region 4.  Last year he as Bradley through and through, this year he bleeds blue and on occasion, as long as they were winning, was a Soddy guy.

I'm here to support Science Hill and will continue to do so.  I will defend my team to the end.  We dropped a close one in the finals but we could have easily turned 3 matches and made a who different dual.  We will show up ready at individual state and give Cleveland and everyone else a battle.  I stand by my comments and we WILL finish ahead of several Region 4 teams.  If you have a problem with anything I've said, come find the Science Hill crowd and we can talk about it.

Dial it back a little TopperKoolAid.  It seems you are drunk on the success you guys had this year.  One year as a state runner up DOES NOT make you the GOAT.  I have to give Cleveland credit for staying power.  The jury is still out on whether you guys can come back next year and back up your success.  From what I see you are losing about 75% of your team to graduation.  What JV kids do you have in waiting?  Can you make another deep run?  Just a suggestion, take your success and celebrate some but quit talking about the should coulda woulda, its a little tacky.

Again, when did anyone from region 4 ever say Soddy or Bradley's was second best team THIS season on any post. Got some money, so put your money where your mouth is and lock it down and get to work, because yes history was on our side, but this year was region 4 year for their second best team finishing high. They won't do it in two weeks either in individuals. Science hill has been everyone's pick as second so get to proving!

I will take you up on that bet CobraChild.  I've got $1000.  Lets do it!

SD beat Bradley 27-21, SH beat Bradley 32-31, Cleveland beat Bradley 33-24 last two matches were forfeits for Bradley. Cleveland beat SD 36-25. It could be alot closer than everyone thinks. Cleveland vs Soddy in the finals. Good luck to everyone at State. It's gonna be fun to watch.

So should I come by your house and pick up my cash?

can someone tell me why Arlington held starters out against Cleveland? I get they would’ve lost anyways but why would you not even try?

    You answered your own question.

Not all coaches are unrealistic.  You have to make the best choice for your team at the moment and make the most of your opportunity.  Look at what is happening to Heritage, they went balls out to beat Science Hill and now they haven't even been close so far against WC.  Not that I think Heritage should have pulled starters against SH, much different situation, but a good example of why Arlington made the right choice.  Live to fight another day.

A certain region that complains that they have the # 1, 2, and 3 best teams in AAA.  And how it is so unfair that they can't bring the #3 team to the duals . . .

They probably have the number 1 , but the so called number 2 has been knocked out.

HAHA so true!  That statement has been made all year long! and the year before and the year before and......

You've been quiet for a while. You decided to run your piehole now cause Brentwood got lucky? Lets talk about tomorrow and see who is the champs. Dont hide tomorrow when you see a Region 4 champ. Come back and "lets talk"

Wow, it appears Wilson also "got lucky."

Unfortunately I think that's all the drama on the winners side of the bracket.  Science Hill celebrating like they just won the gold trophy, I think they must realize whats next and are reveling in their success before the sun goes down.  Good year for them, just one short for Price's last middle school group.

    Consolations will be fun.

I dont see anyone talking about high and mighty this region except when a jackwagon comes on here and bashing us over jealousy. Legacy this and that and all other BS. How overrated Cleveland is this year and such. I remember seeing someone post, (a big bears fan at that) before the season even started that Bradley probably wasn' even a top 10 team this year.

Whatcha expect fans to do when someone that stays hid and only comes out to bash region 4 or Soddy? Agree with him over his jealousy?

And unless I'm missing something, that person that posted that Bradley wasn't a top 10 team was correct.  I keep searching the brackets and can't find them listed among the top 16.  But I guess we're going to do the "the top 3 from Region 4 are top 3 in the state" thing again.  Yeah I get it.

I don't only come out to bash Region 4.  I am an equal opportunity basher.  I have ridden Science Hill pretty hard recently and they are putting me in my place.  Looks like they will be state finalists.  Soddy on the other hand, couldn't pull it off.

Wow I have to apologize for being an air head on that no idea why I didn't catch what I wrote, Jordan not Nichols, guess I was thinking more of the content than the name. But if fact checking is what your after my wrestler was Robert Manier, who did wrestle a Paris graham, and navy.

Now I'm even more confused.  Manier was JV behind Bo Jordan?  In Germany but from St Paris Graham?

Assumed if they are voting...they researching a little bit, lol.

Can't wait to see you this weekend, Coach.

i think you guys (Josh and You) are right about that Halls/Beech match....if there are no bumps...I got it 5-5, with 4 up for grabs.....all four matches up for grabs, are neither teams hammers....I'll take Halls.

The point I've made for the past two years.  And don't take this as a personal attack, but it seems to me that the pollsters are not necessarily the most knowledgeable about wrestling in Tennessee but many are in the good ole boy network.  I understand that one person cannot follow every team in the state but if you are taking the responsibility of being on the poll, I feel that you should at least know the front runners--some of the talk last night regarding the A/AA teams was JV level.  Teams like Greenbrier and Nolensville are overlooked because they don't have a history.  Yet there is always the LEGACY Vote (there it is again, you made me do it!) for Bradley Central and McCallie.  Am I saying either of them beat BC, no but many of your pollsters wouldn't seem to know if they had the ability to do so!

And lastly, I enjoy the show, but Price...my man...how many times are you going to tell us the story that you started these kids at the middle school.  We get it, you built the team, but the show is Tennessee Wrestling Talk, not Science Hill Wrestling Talk.  Bosken, can you bring on some coaches from the other half of the state, maybe even from the West?  I would love to hear a perspective that is not East Tennessee slanted.  Just a suggestion for improvement.  Keep up the good work.

Cleveland is a lot better than they wrestled last night. We got pinned in 2 weight classes where we were winning at the time we got pinned so that right there is a pretty big swing in points if we win both of those matches. That takes Soddy down to 12 points. Im interested to see the Soddy vs. Bradley match. I think Bradley still has too much for them this year but it will definitely be closer than usual. But I think anyone that can say Cleveland isn't the team to beat for a state title this year needs to pay better attention.

I always love the statement "I was winning before I got pinned."  Haha!!!  What's funny is it usually comes from middle school wrestlers, not Big Time wrestling coaches. Haha. Those two guys were winning until they didn't. Using your same logic, WHAT IF two Soddy kids that lost and in some local experts eyes "should have" won actually did win by pin, now it's 31-36.

I already knew that news, but was asked not to break out the secret so I continued my post as if I didn’t know and just added in “if everyone stays at this weight” because I knew nothing would change with those seeds except for the name Hoarst being replaced with Palmer. That still leaves a stacked bottom half fighting for a chance to make the finals and the number 1 seed having a relatively easy path.

Lol!!!!!  Of course you already knew, that's why you spent so much time eloquently laying out your post.  Hahaha!!  Funny guy and definitely in the know.

I had never heard of the Milasauskas kid until last night when I was looking at some scores and saw that he majored Henderson. The score alone was enough for me to realize that he is an OUTSTANDING wrestler. But when I looked at last years SC Upstate AAA state championship 126lb results, it shows #1 seed Chad Milasauskas from Indian Land HS being "upset" by #2 seed Jared Smith from West Oak HS by a 2-1 score. If this is true, that would make him a SC State Runner-Up and not SC State Champion.
