I’m fairly in tune with the schedule the past seven years. I’ve followed them rather closely. I also think it may be worthwhile for you to take a look at JP’s record against William Blount the last two times they’ve faced off. Dawgs are as solid as can be most of the time but find themselves slipping up in crucial times. I expect this to improve as he gains more time coaching in these type of games. That’s good info. Thanks for that journal. Keep working dawgs.

I’m sorry you have a problem with facts. Both coaches are veterans btw. Two great coaches and programs for sure
sorry bud. I dont know as much about bhs basketball as the other folks in this thred. Im just goingby the article I read earlier. just trying to give cjp the benefit of the doubt since hes only been coaching the big boys for 6 or 7 years. didnt count those early Cherokee years. Would say that apples to organs. Didnt mean to offend

Get out of here with that stuff. Fulton has their big 3 recruits that Jody Wright stole from AE and Bearden did not. To me it seemed like Bearden was outmatched, but they coached a good enough game to win and was one chase down block away from winning that one. You are not worth responding to anymore after these takes about "experience".
I dont have a dog inthe fight between you and journal but I don’t understand attacking a good man like cjw character he’s a legend. Seems to me that too good programs played last night and the old guard got the new guard. It’s why you play the games. I personally love it it when a veteran gets the best of a younger coach to show there’s still something about age and wisdom congrats to both on a great game and good luck to both moving forward

I mean, he’s won a state championship and been a state championship runner-up, I don’t know how much points experience you can get.

Anyone seen West play?
D-B has them tonight at Meadowview. I'm honestly not looking forward to tonight and tomorrow's games from a viewing perspective from those I've talked to who's been to the NAIA college games in that ballroom setup at Meadowview.
Guess I shouldn't knock it till I experience it for myself though.
how was your experience at Meadowsview @TribalEmpire would love to hear. Hope it was better than my opinion.

Wow. 2 kids that transferred from Karns and 1 from the East side (all did so coming out of middle school) out of 30+ kids on the roster freshmen, jv, and varsity. That is quite a recruiting job!
I agree. but as this new coach gains more experience and wins more games thye will start heading to west Knoxville like they used to do. its only a matter of time. Knoxville basketball is always better when bearden is good. Im rooting for them.

Should have had this at the Ft. Henry Mall or maybe Wal Mart. Hope I don't give them any ideals.
Walmart distribution center in Mosheim may fit enough people but not sure if they have enough bathroom space

Is it a larger venue? With them being out of their own gym, maybe that's the reason. I remember Crockett and Boone used to play in the mini dome. It wasn't a good place to watch a game, but it was what they did and I heard they had large crowds. Heard the game now has less attendance.

here is a picture of it. Very flat. get there early. But parking and concessions like I said are great -

Interesting venue to say the least after the initial reaction of how it is different wears off it isnt a good place to watch basketballwhen I went last though great concessions set up. So just eat plenty and make yourselfhappy

If he would’ve just stayed one more year, he would’ve won state, but Parrot took over and won state in his first season, which is always a good look.
Wow didn’t realize that dawgs too many times we make it about the coaches but it’s really about the kids anyway. Glad both the kids and cjp benefited

I understand that the history is there from the Blevins days. But he actually invested in the student athletes and developed their attitude effort and toughness. I understand that recruiting is the name of the game but don’t let that be the only thing your program stands on. Leverage the importance of effort attitude and toughness to help grow them, not just focus on their bball skills.
this thread has me doing research. i need to et back to work but found this article. it takes time to establish a program @JournalEntry. 582 ins over 22 seasons. it looks like cjp has them on the right path. but hes a younger coach it seemsso it will take time. like i said though always rooting for the dogs.

That upperman game was frustrating to watch for the green devils. Anytime you have athletes like Gville though youll always have a shot to go deep. year in and year out.

Fulton needed a Fulton guy. good for CJL and good for that school

Nope, there are recruits from Karns and Carter on the squad.
soubds like you have an axe to grind. maybe those boys just wanted to win. kids weere transferring into bearden for years because of what CMB established in the 90s. it happens everywhere.

Great for the kids. i may come down so i don't accidentally turn it on and have to listen to it though.

Dobyns-Bennett popcorn and it's not close. Super buttery.
If we're talking concessions as a whole, by all costs.... AVOID Greeneville and Hal Henard Elementary. Popcorn is stale, pizza was cold and nasty when I was there Monday night.
to have everything else so good I agree greenevill has TERRIBLE popcorn. almost like it was left over from the last game

Yes. I know that Jones hired his youth league buddy who’s an SRO in Knox county to coach his oline, then ran him off so Smith could work with the oline. But because Smith is a trainer and never officially hired by Knox county they couldn’t admit he was coaching. Then after his son got hurt he stepped away and Crawford had to take over. Which just shows how chaotic Bearden is and how many handlers and whoever else just hanging around.
It seems like there are more and more of these handlers hanging around not just bearden but everywhere nowadays a buddy of mine in texas says that you cant be a head or assistant coach in public school leagues in texas unless your a certified teacher. i wonder how they find so many teachers but would have to imigine that would cut down on all this mess

i hate the transfer. play where you grow up...But it's happening every where so maybe makingit legal allows coahces who go by the rules to have a chance to save some players and get some players.
