    Thats what they all say.

Guess you forgot about that silver when you shot off your mouth.

No I remembered lol. I also remember when somebody that was not the head coach took over the white board during half time of that game and made himself look like a fool bc they still ended up losing. I think his last name starts with an S... ring a bell?

I guess from your id that you are from chicken county. Way to lose to 1A gordy 2 years in a row.

You do remember we won silver in 2018. Not gold but at least we were at state. Peabody would have beaten you too.. Where was Chicken County that night?

I am not from smith county lol. I just keep up with programs across the state my man

I partially agree with you. The year Maynard left talent was down from what even he normally had. Scheduling had a lot to do with that also. I remember the year he left when the schedule came out and had Cookeville and Alcoa on it I told my family up there get ready Maynard is leaving.

The 2013 team actually had quite a bit of talent. I wouldn't say the talent level had a massive drop off until the 2016 season.

  4. As someone that is not from the area but keeps up with high school ball across the state, why have they fallen off so bad within the last few years/decade? For years smith co was always a tough team to beat and a tough place to play especially the decade from 2002-2012. Even in the mid to late 1990s they were good and even before that. As of late though, their teams have been very subpar, players on team are down, attendance is down from what I have heard, overall support in the community for the team seems to be down from what I have heard, and the talent level is dramatically down from years past.  I get in small towns talent comes in cycles but it just seems like its getting worse not better for smith county, especially with the last really solid team being in 2017. If the fans or people from the area can clue me in I am just curious because when they were good they always were a fun team to watch.

  5. 2017 CPA at Independence on October 6th... more or less competitive than the trouncing CPA received in 2016 at Vandy versus Knox. Catholic?

I fear the candidness of the replies

Also... who would rank higher, Smyrna or Hillsboro?

I would have to say hillsboro going forward and I will give CPA props for playing KC tho. Most teams avoid competition and Ingle runs to it so I respect him and his staff and the great job they do year in and year out with not always the most stacked roster. The Indy game should be a good one!

  6. BA has played at black schools/areas before but whether you guys in memphis want to admit it or not, memphis is a terrible city with terrible crime. You guys will just say "Its every urban area". Lets do some deductive reasoning here: who lives in urban crime ridden areas? I ll let you guys figure this one out . I just used your own guys logic to prove why people have that fear lol. Personally, I do not care about where a game is I will go watch it but you cant just act like memphis is a great city to live in

  7. support? they get the equipment they need, they have a weight room, locker room.  they have a practice field and a stadium. winning? is that all it is about. do not all kids deserve to be coached. Are you saying that all the coaches that coached in the state championship games could not make a difference here. They can only win with players? I know many schools that have the same support and facilities and still win. this is a good job because you get to coach football and train kids, winning is just a by product of doing the right things.every school has obstacles , most people just call them excuses.

lol man. their facilities, equipment, and locker and weight rooms are terrible compared to ther schools, even within metro. And yes coaching at a school like glencliff is a death sentence even for state title coaches. Lol you still love metro football a bunch don't you. I figured you of all people would understand you can't win big games in metro very often. Most of time metro football is a dumpster fire whether folks want to admit it or not

  8. Look at all the uproar over these matchups that aren't even happening. Again put Lausanne vs Dresden, Trezevant vs Alcoa, Memphis East vs Farragut, Whitehaven vs BA in week one (or other winners following a given year) and watch the people fill MTSU or Vanderbilt. Maybe in some years it would be Maryville or Oakland vs MBA, think that would draw?

    lausanne would kill dresden

  9. I'm so glad you gave us your final words. Here are mine.

Whitehaven and Oakland would just beat the brakes off of BA, MBA, and anybody else you are promoting from D2. Maryville's 'D' would give all three fits as well.

You D2 guys want to come into a 5A/6a forum and spout how dominant and superior the top D2 teams are suppose to be over the top D1 teams as if we are going to read that CRAP and be receptive? How was that EVER going to fly in a 5A/6A forum?

    Condescend much?

You guys are the MOST delusional people I've ever had the pleasure (if you want to caal it that) of sharing a thread with.

NOBODY cares if this is your FINAL WORD dude.

    Be gone!

Again, Whitehaven would crush them like grapes.

LOLOLOLOL .... your final words indeed! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Dude shut up. Stop being ignorant to the fact there are people better than Memphis crap football teams and coaching. Vandy just laid out the facts of why BA would win and you just blew it off like a joke without even thinking through it which tbh does not surprise me about a memphis person. Trash city full of trash football is what memphis is. Stop ignoring the obvious. Whitehaven and Oakland are definitely top teams but not MBA and BA level.

  10. Love this win for my school and especially for Coach Eddie Courtney. I also love this win because of how cocky the Indy fans were on here last week. To hear them talk about it, Farragut and Indy should've saved the money spent on travel buses and just mailed the silver ball to Farragut. Sure makes my heart warm when the clowns from middle TN are made to look like idiots on coachT. This game was the embodiment of the 2016 Farragut season. A team that never gave up and never quit believing, what an awesome year it was. Great win for Farragut and hopefully the team will carry this momentum into next season.

LOL Farragut will suck next year

  11. My final words for this thought and why. BA would beat white haven

Offensively BA offense is very complex with multiple read passes, multiple read zone schemes and fast pace. Do not get me wrong whitehaven definately has more raw talent but their defense i not sound enough to play against that offense. They saw a sacred heart offense that is similiar but not anywhere near it. BA WR are more talented and the type of routes they run is something white haven defense hasn't seen. With the amount of RPO ( Run Pass Option) that they run the white haven linebackers wouldn't even be in the play because they are being read every play. Up front white haven is bigger but their big boys would be gassed at the speed at which BA plays with. They would get frustrated at each other and eventually crumble. Once they are down there is no coming back and do not mention the Oakland game. Oakland runs wing t offense that was gosh awful.

Defensively BA would be able to shut their one dimensional offense down. MBA line is by far bigger than white haven with lineman with SEC offers so their is no comparison there. Running back wise I dont even have to start. A top RB in the country vs white haven running back. Similar offenses but BA could not stop white haven? I saw the most predictable offense when i watched them vs oakland. With NO PASS game what so ever I have full confidence that BA would stop White Haven by just filling the box with 9 people.

Now you white haven/memphis bias will say this is all bias but its truth. There was no offense in 6a state which made it seem like great defense. BA offense is one White Haven has not seen all year their one dimensional no pass game offense would struggle against a well coached defense in BA. D2AA is a different type of football hence why they put some of the best college players out there. There is a reason it is called the SEC of college football.

    +10000

  12. This is ridiculous that the state of TN is about to go to 9 classifications in a state as small as ours. Watered down competition makes the sport weaker and promotes the "everyone gets a trophy" mentality. My question is what is the TSSAA doing with all the money they are getting? Insurance can't be all the money is going to so what is it.  They need to combine classifications like the old days and make it better and have no public/private split.

    1A-2A: 1A

    3A-4A: 2A

    5A and the current D2A schools: 3A

    6A and the current D2AA schools: 4A

this type of classification would promote really good football in the state and allow for good matchups that would draw big gates.

Another thing to is the state title games could all be on the same day instead of the 3 day period they are currently. Also, why exactly is the state game at TTU? It would be better to have the games at a central location to maximize  attendance and Vandy or MTSU would allow for this to have crowds of 10K+ like the old days

  13. I think the whitehaven guys have not had much to talk about on here since 2012 so I am sure they are enjoying it. Sacred heart griffin runs an offiense very similar to ba. Coaches prepare for what they see most often and I assume during that game they thought their athletes would keep them in the game. But their defense was picked apart because they had not practiced or played against what they saw that game.

My point is ba runs the same offense but more up tempo and with better skill players than what shg had . I remember bhs calling them slaw.

Nothing against the boys but they just were not prepared for what showed up that day on the other side and hence why they didn't play another game against them.

I imagine the coaching staff made a decision thinking they would not see that type of offense playing in Memphis or into the state so why bother getting beat so bad when you don't need to.

Ba certainly has had its moments too in the past but I thought I would highlight what a game may look like between the two.

yep. The tempo BA plays with is something Whitehaven has never seen and combine that with great skill players and oline it's over for "DA HAVEN"
