  1. BA will be back... Oatsvall will be tough to replace. He was tough, and made plays and was a strong leader. But as usual, BA's coaches will have them in the mix again!
  2. I believe it will be Trinity for out of state..
  3. What all does Ensworth have coming back next year?
  4. He helped recruit Brandon Adams from our program last year. Just called him to welcome him to East Tennessee... I got know him when they were recruiting Brandon last year so I am a little biased. Now whether he ends up a great head coach for you guys time will tell. Coaches are graded on wins and losses so we all will see soon enough. Yes I am a retired teacher. Was hoping they would take our quarterback at Tech this year but unfortunately they did not.
  5. Agree with everything you said.. TC tradition is as good as anyone and nobody can argue with that
  6. Coach Flatt has done great for us. But one thing that is in common with all those schools you listed... all great programs and great places to be... Not all schools and especially football programs are like ours and y'all s... I know my sons were lucky to have played at BA.
  7. I wish I could get on the PR of someone lol... I understand you wanting someone with roots there especially with all that tradition. But heck, your hall of fame coach is the one who made the decision. I'm sure he had some reason. I wish you guys the best. Really none of my business.
  8. Haha.. I do know your new coach but I'm a Brentwood Academy Fan through and through. We have se real guys that have gone and got recruited by Tech. While I do think it's a great hire, I definitely have no allegience to the new guy. I was born and raised in Nashville. My name is Clint Delayney... not hiding behind a screen name. Just a fan!
  9. Every coach now days have to move around. They all have goals of where they want to get to. I would say making it to a power 5 school at ga tech is pretty good. No question TC has unique tradition and it's different than most schools. That could be why your coaches stay there. Now days at most schools, they don't care about football and the administrators could careless about it. That is why most coaches now days don't stay long anywhere. I will say this, and I have no ambition of ever being a head football coach, TC is one of this places that most of the head coaches I know would love to get to. Heck teachers like myself now days move around due to administration. Changes etc. So I would never knock a coach from moving around until they find what they want!
  10. That right there was funny Roy Dillard... but when TC wins that gold ball that SOS will be right in the TC family lol
  11. I did a little research myself on your coach. Every high school he was head coach at, they hired one of his assistants when he left. So, that says a lot about the type of program he runs I would say! There is one or two he may be bringing with him.
  12. You guys may be surprised. I actually got to speak to your new coach this morning and congratulated him. He has a great plan to get you guys where you are used to being... winning championships. HE is planning on being at TC for the long haul. He has a son that begins kindergarten in the fall and his wife is coming as a counselor at the end of the school year. His wife has been at the same school for nine out of the last 10 years so they wouldn't be moving if it was t serious and good for their family. Great guy and I look forward to watching things happen at TC!
  13. He will be there atleast 5 years I can promise you that!... it takes 5 years to be vested in tenn retirement and it would not make sense for him to come for any less.
  14. KBD.. Andy McCollum who recruits our school said he ran the Wing T and I at most of the schools he was at. He had a running back at chattooga that's in the NFL now I think with Miami (Senorise Perry).
  15. TC will be in the hunt to win it all the next several years. You are getting a quality coach and person. One of our players that plays at Tech now talks very highly of him and says he will be a great coach for the boys at TC.
  16. Will be interesting to see what else comes open in East Tenn after Christmas. Here in Nashville, I haven't heard a lot. Have heard a couple of rumblings in schools in and around Knoxville but nothing to as a definite.
  17. TC got a guy that can coach with the best of them. He is extremely tough and will work them extremely hard in the off season program. He did bounce around a good bit but it was his goal to make it to the college level in which he did. Trust me, having known one of Tech coaches that recruits our school here in Nashville area, he talks very highly of him as a coach and person. Like any coach, time will tell but TC may just have hit a home run with this hire.
