  1. The Lady Rebels are a family and they show that. They are very unselfish in their gameplay and it truly showed tonight. They had 16 assists compared to Pickett's 5. There were several times that Lamb could have taken an easy shot, but instead dished to someone under the goal for an even easier shot. This is why I love to watch them play. Pickett definitely held Braelyn back and you have to Pat them on the back for that but they left the inside wide open with Taylor and Morgan going for 19 each. That has been the theme for SG all along... You can't focus on any one or two players because they have a bench who can step in at anytime. It also helped with foul calls, which I thought were a bit ridiculous. But we were able to spread them out more with the depth that we had. I just love this team. They have been a joy to follow these past two years. And they are really great girls outside of basketball

Family, unselfish, etc etc...Don't make it anything it wasn't. SG is just deeper and more athletic. You have a great team & just won another championship. One quarter was the difference in the game. Those are the best 2 teams in the state. Range is a close/respectable 3rd, then a big ole gap to the field.

  2. Huntingdon struggled with Huntingdon! Three players never shot the ball after the first qtr and played the whole game. You cant win like that, yet they still had a chance to. Pickett and SG by far the best 2 teams i saw in single A.

Congrats to SG on winning another State Championship. Best 2 teams played a heck of a game. SG by 15 over a range Saturday night at 6. Rest of the field was weak....

  3. Ya, bigger offers include TN Tech, Evansville, UT Martin.....

Zero offers from any SEC schools, etc

I agree it's highly highly unlikely he would average 40 a game playing day in day out vs Memphis talent. He might not start over them but would def give them a run for their money. Key had bigger offers than ISU but I think he chose immediate playing time over a bigger name.

Lomax is talented but I think his size hurts him like Darius Garland. They have time to grow but it will hurt them at bigger schools if genetics has other plans.

  4. Wasn't Pickett County mostly Seniors this year? Im pretty sure they returned all their starters from the 15 team and last year was to be their run at the title. Im sure they will have a solid team just not as good as the past 2 years.

PC is really good. Very comparable to the 2 last years.

SG should be real strong. C range is biigggg but slowwww.

Haven't seen any west tn teams

  5. Upperman should...as much recruiting as they do, they should go DII. Upper Cumberland High...if they don't get a title now, they aren't gonna. Their Jr high team might have 3 kids from Baxter. Levy is at her 3rd school.

Elizabethton, Gatlinburg Pittman, McMinn C, Upperman, East Nash, CPA, Westview, Haywood

  6. PC or Clarkrange.....3rd is distant from these 2 teams

I've kept up with all of these programs as a lot of us have and i can say without a doubt that Pickett County has pulled ahead of everyone in 7A however only slightly over Clarkrange. Clay Co. has a very good group of 8th graders coming in and will be very good really soon with Coach Walker at the helm. Jackson Co. is a distant 3rd this year as bad as it pains me to say it and it hurts really BAD!!!

  7. Im torn on this, but if were gonna say SMU is mid major so is Memphis. I wouldn't consider Vandy a mid major and turn around and call LSU a high major. Same conference same level. When i hear mid major i picture schools such as Portland, Pacific, Murray St, Indiana St and schools of that level. Plus Douglas had offers from FSU, Marquette, ND, Memphis, TCU Ole Miss etc. so choosing a mid major wouldn't be the outcome. With a offer sheet of his and how heavy coaches were visiting him over the last 2 months its still shocking that he chose SMU as the front runner I must say. But they have won 25 games 3 years in a row so maybe he was sold on the environment and the direction they are headed after Larry Brown. I guess we also have to look at the fact of the success he has had at a school that isn't known for putting out D1 Bball talent so maybe he wanted to follow a similar mold on the next level.

  8. Ya, Aaron left things in a bind. Amonett stepped up 2 weeks before the first game. Cookeville tromped them pretty good the first game of the year, but since PC is 9-3 & swept Stone Memorial. Look like a different team. Kids are really responding to him.

  9. I would agree. PC is an extremely hard place to play along with c-range. However I don't feel anyone in the district and region will touch Clay this year at either gym. Clay has two strong road wins in VB and Wayne County, KY so they know how it feels to win in hostile territory.

If Key continues to average 40+ppg then it will be hard for any 7A team to get close. Either way I feel Coach Aaron has a good thing going up in PC currently but think the loss of offense in the Ferrall kid and graduated seniors hurts PC when going against an offense like CC and the defensive pressure that they bring for the entire game.

Granted RBS isn't that good but it was like 70-15 at halftime last night with the final being 101-37. Key had 37 or 40 in practically two quarters of work.
