  1. Can't wait to see district play start Tuesday night. i still believe that Camden is better than some think, and they have won a couple already. 2 home games this week to start the district schedule off should give a good indication.

I just watched Camden scrimmage Scotts Hill. SH obliterated them and they will probably finish bottom tier of their district. If Camden finishes 3rd in theirs that just speaks to how weak this district is.

i am hoping that the scrimmage was not a sign, i am waiting for this group to turn around and start winning. i do think that the bottom part of the district will be weak.

I watched Stewart Co and Cheatham Co in a scrimmage game Tuesday night.  Stewart Co is going to have to work hard getting a press break together or they will struggle.  Transition was a problem for them, too.  After the 1st qtr, it was 27-8, Cheatham.  I don't know if all of their players were there, which could be an issue, but the front guards decision making was iffy at times and ball handling was a problem.

Stewart Co was really good last year and I thought they had a lot returning this year. They were a physical group.

  4. Gonna get this ball rollin and give my opinion.

1 Stewart County has good size and will be deep again this year. i only saw them play a couple of times last year but I was impressed by them.

2 Creekwood is always in the top two in this district, I expect them to be the second best because of what Stewart County has coming back.

3 Camden has improved so much over the last couple of seasons. I am excited about the prospect of this years group.

4 East Hickman has been in the mix the last few years, and I think they will be in the upper half of the district. They lost some important pieces but should still be near the top.

5 Fairview is an improved group, and should be better than last year. i have little knowledge here, but have been told they should be improved and have some youth that can contribute.

6 Hickman County has a chance to be the most improved with a good group of young players mixed with some experience. i expect this to be a beginning of a rise for this team.

7 Lewis County dropped hard last year and had players leave the team. I saw them play twice last year and they seemed to get worse.

8 Waverly has not shown any reason to believe they will be any different than they have been.

Camdens drive to start the 2nd half was nice. Drove the ball down the Mustangs throat. # 1 is a tough downhill running back. The Mustangs team speed just to much for the Lions to handle. # 13 and #9 had outstanding games for the Mustangs. Camden played us tough as they always do. Camdens offense looked good at times. Moved the ball on the ground better than anyone has on us.

Drives like that are the improvement I have been hoping to see. I don't think anyone expected much going in to the game but there were difinately positives in the game.  i feel good about the improvement. next week will be a huge opponent and I think Fairview is very good. I am hoping for competitive games here on out and a playoff game.

you're right. if someone has a bad game we should flog them on national TV sundays a noon. they should NEVER be considered worth anything again.

THANK YOU SO MUCH "11AA" for setting us, the entire planet, heck, the galaxy, straight

At what point did I flog the kid? Seriously?

You were going on about how great he is, and someone else said you have a bromance with him. I will be the first to say that I do not follow your 5-AA group. I keep up with Waverly for obvious reasons and I don't miss many Camden games. But, I have heard alot about the Cobb kid over the last couple of years and I have some acquaintences in Lewis county, so I have read some of the posts. I have seen Webb play a grand total of 2 games. My "flogging" was stating a fact that from what he showed in the Camden game is he wasnt the best player on his team that night much less his region. It was only one game. I am sure that he has had better games, probably every game other than Camden for all I know. I will check his stats if they are on digital scout or maxx preps and see.  Everybody getting all upset because I made the comment that he was not impressive against Camden and all the LC people on the board were talking smack about how the were going to drill the lions. He is athletic, but putting it out there that he is the best in your region put expectations on him, and it didnt show in Camden that night. Good luck to all you guys over there chasing Columbia academy, and good luck to the teams that come in 2 and 4 when they know the get rewarded with Waverly. The winner of Waverly and Ca will probably co to the championship.

I think Webb is better than Cobb. Will his coach use him effectively? Remains to be seen. Talent wise Webb is better

Your bromance for Webb is hilarious.

Webb did NOTHING against Camden. I went in expecting to get a real show, especially after a couple of worshippers on here, and he did nothing. He threw 2 picks and  barely got out of the backfield when running.

I don't know any of the other "best player in region 5AA", but if he is top 5 or top 3 then I am shocked. Best 2A players I have seen both play at Waverly.

  8. I have said it for weeks, this team is better and should show growth every week. They dominated the line on both sides of the ball, and took LC out of their comfort zone. LC had a couple of costly turnovers, and one sure thing TD dropped, that cost them field position and momentum, but the Lions did exactly what they were supposed to do to win, eat up yardage, get first downs, and drain the clock. Great win.

Im scared to say only thing I agree with is Camden don't get it together they could loose the entire program I have never seen so much talent wasted in my life

There is talent there, and I still believe that by the end of the season they should be much better than they were at any point last year.

  10. This game went as I expected. The improvements were evident in the first half, but the second half the adjustments made by the far superior and far more athletic team was more than enough to put space between. I still have faith this team is better, and I think by the end of the season the record will show it. I wouldn't want to be Lewis County coming to Camden this week.

The opening round is Tuesday night at the higher seeds home floors.  The tournament semifinals, consolation, and championship games will be Friday and Saturday at East Hickman HS.

Gonna make it over to Creek Wood to catch Camden tonight. I am so glad to get out of the house and see some basketball. Hate that I missed so much. Hope the Lions have a little fight in them, they played better the last time they played Creek Wood.

Creek Wood will be the top seed (coin flip) and they'll host Waverly in the opening round.

Lewis County and Camden will meet in the 4/5 matchup.  They both finished 7-7 in the district and split their season meetings.

East Hickman will be the 3 seed and they'll host 6 seeded Fairview in the first round.

Stewart County will be the 2 seed (coin flip) and will host HIckman County in the opening round.

My favorite time of year. Im thankful to be able to see some games after being sick for what seems like months. Didn't make it to the Camden game last night, but sounded good. Great to get that win and advance to the regions for this group.

  13. Great to have this thread back again. I always like logging in and being able to keep up with this. Thanks for your efforts to keep it all together like this.

Looking forward to driving over to Fairview tonight to see the Lady Lions and Lions. First games I have been been able to make so far.

How are the teams looking? I was expecting Creek Wood to be the best in the girls side, but the score with Stewart County looks like that may not be the case.

Well thats true, but I know of one that can't coach from the sidelines and he's been there for about 30 years.

Are you seriously from Lewis County? How embarassing for someone to bash their own school and coach like that, especially one that has been as successful as Sharpe. You are a pathetic piece of work.

I know how the rivalry has been through the years with us and Lewis  Co, but we have always had a great deal of respect for him and his teams, even when we were  going back and forth with fans. There are alot of schools he has played, and beaten, over the years that would love to have him in charge. And you are bashing after another great year.

I will be the first to jump all over some Lewis Co people, comes from the years we have matched up and when we were in a district together. But this guy has lost his everloving mind. Camden and Lewis County have been playin on and off for years, sometimes as district rivals and others in the playoffs. Lewis County has strung together decades, plural, of playoff teams and that is a pretty big deal. Ddaddy and thestuff have completely taken your argument away from you and you come off like a little kid. You have said they lose in the first round after winning 9 or 10 games, changed it to first or second when given stats. I think you change your mind or change what you are arguing to keep the conversation going. Like I said being from Camden we have history with LC but I have nothing but respect for the run they have had, getting to the playoffs is great, winning a playoff game or two a bonus. And how can anyone complain about who someone has to play in a district? That is not even an argument.

And you keep on with this "Coach is a friend of a friend of a family member of a doctor of a neighbor of the guy who cuts someones grass that is on the board of control."

    That is hysterical.

Maybe the pizzpatriot should apply for a job with TSSAA since he sounds like he thinks he could make better districts. maybe he could make friends with coaches and help them out like he claims is common. Hey, maybe he could help Camden out a little, get us away from Fairview and Cheatham.

i think bass is pretty much on point.

i also think Eagleville can be top 10 and could win 2 games n the playoffs.

I think the R5/R6 matchup is closer this year than the R4/R3 matchups of the last 2 years. Nary an R4 team got past the 2nd round except Forrest last year. Marion was clearly dominant. I don't see that this year.

I see it differently. Waverly and Riverside will finish 1/2 and dominate the 3/4 from region 5. I am not sold on Eagleville, and Lewis County will benefit from likely getting the 4 (Hickman), but after that they could be in trouble. Scotts Hill is not bad, should be better by playoff time.

If Lewis County is as good as some of their posters on here say they are then this won't be close.

Being from Camden I hear from alot of LC fans, mostly during basketball season of course because we are in the same district, but there are usually plenty of LC fans talking football to and at me.  But I have seen a couple posting that are LC people that I find a bit more realistic than others. LC is a pretty good AA team, but I would have a very difficult time thinking they would be top 4 or 5. I dont know alot about Forest but they seem to be down a little bit. By their scores, LC has gotten better, or their opponents worse.

I agree that 8th is a fair ranking. I would also say that while EVille had the best team of all teams they didn't have the best talent. Every team that we have played has had surprisingly good talent. If Loretto and Scotts Hill puts it all together they can beat anyone. I also believe that Camden did the most with what they had. With that being said LC is playing a ton of young kids with 3 Sophomores starting. The future is bright.

I honestly think Camden is better than their record. While they are not what everyone expects Camden to be, they are getting better and I think the LC game might be closer if we played them in October.

  19. Since there is a thread in the girls forum I wanted to see what people were thinking on the boys side.

    My extremely early predictions:

    1- Creek Wood

    2- Camden

    3- Montgomery Central

    4- Waverly

    5- Fairview

    6- Stewart County

    7- East Hickman

    8- Lewis County

    9- East Hickman
