any S town seniors that transferred in to play ball or is everyone homegrown?

S town had #34 transfer in her jr yr. But they like homegrown is my thinking cause they don’t know how to take care of one of the best shooters. Should have seen that kid lighting it up playing in the Nationals in Atlanta. Think I seen her play like 9 games in 3 days there. But hey  even if they did know y’all still would of one but they made it easier on y’all by letting them young ones get experience. Think she ranked in state too for 3s in a game

It's all about speed. It's very hard to beat a team that's much faster than you are! Summertown is better coached but they are slow! Fuller #24 is faster than Alvin Kamara. Huntingdon is not the best team in the state but they are I think the most talented. They didn't play well tonight but were talented enough to pull it out.

Stown didn’t look better coached tonight.  Looked like Huntingdon was ready. Don’t know he might be a better coach but he didn’t show up tonight if he is.

  3. I think you are a dedicated fan to your team. If mine were still playing I probably would be defending my team. I'm not a fan of talking negative about players regardless of my personal opinion. Coaches are grown & it comes with the job. I thought I would join to keep up better but see so many talking crap about kids. Not saying you are but have seen it on here a lot. They are kids & the disrespect shown to them & others posting on here don't have much respect for others either if somebody disagrees with their "opinion" Rethinking staying on here to read opinions of anonymous people talk crap like what was done to you.. anyway- I just wanted to know what colleges or offers does Brooks have?

  4. I am also the one that said Brooks was the best player in the district in my opinion. I agreed with you that Brooks had to play well for them to win, I was trying to make the point that if teams put too much on stopping Brooks they had others that could score. I think she should have been MVP but Graved is a great player also. I still say Hinson, Roberts and Capps can score but no argument from me that Brooks makes them go.

  5. She would have been to blame cause lucky for perry co time ran out. I watched Summertown too last night. Couldn't tell by watching who was high scorer for them but I did see a few girls open & the point drove & threw up a shot instead of passing. Guess kind of like the Brooks girl but she wasn't hitting them. On that coach to. Anybody's game come tourney time. Good luck & will find it on the radio tomorrow.

  6. If PC plays like they played against Loretto last night, Summertown will hold them. PC was up by almost 20 with like 6 minutes left and ends up winning by 3??? How does that happen?!?. If Loretto had 2 more minutes, they would have won that game and I would have put the blame squarely on the PC coach. Brooks is an amazing athlete, but the 4 fast breaks when up by 15 in the 4th is a little greedy and probably a bit nuts...especially when the shot is contested and the fast break just become a long turnover. If Brooks will dial it back a little, let the other 4 players help (and they must), PC has a good shot. Course, then Summertown has to show up and actually score (Something they like to take breaks from).

  7. This thread is turning into a trainwreck. I was not in attendance at either game between Summertown/Lewis County, but I do have friends on both sides of this.

I would normally agree with posters that say "let transfers transfer" or whatever. I would have an issue with the transfer as a parent or coach, or even player, if the "transfer" went to camp with one team one week and go with another the following week. And from what I have been told we are not talking about a transfer that only got on the court in blowouts, we are talking about a transfer that started as a 10th grader.

As far as student sections, I see that as a push. Both sides got their say in it, and it sound like it was quite mild. "She's ours now" vs. "You can keep her". I am quite sure the transfer's parents didn't go down and ask the Summertown students to take the paint off or cover up. Heck, they probably encouraged it and blew it up on social media or whatever. So, don't get all up in your feelings when you go to the other school and get what you get. Unless the student section painted that on their chest for Collinwood or Perry County or any other opponent, then it was directed at LC.

Coaches design game plans in order to win, and LC did that. If they allowed the transfer to get hot, by that time it would be too late. No dog in the hunt, but the plan seemed to work.

The telling stat, not 1,000 points or 3-pt record, will be which team plays longer into the post season. "I am a 1,000 point scorer" that didn't make it out of regionals in high school, or "I broke the school record for 3's in a game" but didn't advance to sub state, both make the season a little less memorable. At least the transfer is just a junior, right?

  8. The definition of Most Valuable Player is the young lady from Summertown who was chosen by the coaches in the district this year. Not sure if there is some kind of unwritten rule, but i seen her play some & she's worthy of this award too. Not saying #40 isn't a great player but the choice was made. Good luck to all the teams advancing to Regions. Hopefully, we will be able to watch some good basketball without all the drama from adults & students at the games, here, & everywhere. Summertown seems to be trying to hard to change up things at a very crucial time here at Region. agree with basketballIQ with what was said.
