Congrats to Richland for posting a signature win over GCA. I heard GCA had lost their running back and had moved QB Amor to that position. Are they so short-handed they had to completely scrap their offense? Just wonderin'.
I haven't heard that they lost a running back. Amor played at the QB position all night, but he definitely rushed more than anybody else on the field too. Maybe that's what they were alluding to.

How did Richland beat Grace? Did not see that one coming at all.
It's pretty simple, really. Richland scored more points than GC did.
The offensive line stepped up and opened up some lanes, so Richland moved the ball consistently and controlled the clock. The defense made some key stops and the offense protected the ball. It was an entertaining game to say the least.

How can you say they didn't give 100% effort? They battled back from being down by 21 or 28 points at halftime! More than half the team is playing both sides of the ball! Shameful that's a sorry response on your behalf! We made adjustments at halftime on d and looked like a different team!
They gave up at the end up the game. They walked away while the PC player was running for the end zone. That's shameful. They should play every play with pride, win or lose.

The Bobcats need to work on playing til the end. They had plenty of game left to win, but hung their heads when they saw a little adversity. I can deal with losing when 100% effort is given. Unfortunately, I didn't see that on Saturday. That's shameful.

Mt. Pleasant is not very disciplined. If you can beat them to the sideline, you'll be able to stop them. If not, they'll score on you every time. It's basically a track meet.

As much as we've heard this in the last 25+ years I really wish it would be reported and not just an urban legend.
No benefactor is needed with our MCPS teams right now, just a good recruiter. Good players are allowed to go to our bigger schools and play sports that their zoned school has. Definitely an unfair advantage for our smaller schools.
Dealing with the same issues a little further south. Better facilities, winning program... of course they'll funnel that direction. More than athletics suffer. The numbers justify more dual enrollment classes, etc at those larger schools too. It's a viscous cycle. Zoning is a must!

Anyone ever heard of a benefactor? Boosters pay for athletes to attend CA. Unfair advantage.

Both teams played a hard fought game. I don't think the world was prepared for the progress the Richland Raiders have made. Excited to see where their season goes after the way they showed out tonight.

Anybody been out to see Richland in any preseason action? I heard they may be a threat. How's it shaping up?

The Raiders are a young team with a young coaching staff, who seems to have finally found their groove in this first season under new leadership. Those guys have a passion for the game that just won't be matched. I think we'll continue to see some interesting things from the Richland Raider football team. FC is talented for sure, but they didn't play their best against Moore County... if Richland continues to play like they did against GC, the region will be a dogfight, no doubt. There's still a long season ahead. It'll be fun to see what happens.
