  16. I don't think this scrimmage will be on Rhea Review. My buddy that works with Elmer hasn't said anything about it yet, but I think they are still trying to get their equipment together. My guess is they should be ready to stream by the jamboree.
  17. They have picked it up really well so far. Kaylor, who also starts at MLB and punter, switched from tight end to fullback this off-season and looks solid there. The younger Pemberton, entering his 3rd year as the starter at QB, looks like he was spent some added time in the weight room and is more than athletic enough to be a triple option QB. I like the switch in offense, and I think the Eagles start better this season on that side than last year. My concern is replacing all but one DB and both OLBs. Everywhere else should be solid.
  18. I have not been told of the location, but I assumed it would be on the game field since there is more than likely going to be a large group of Eagle faithful make the trip. We've always traveled well, even to scrimmages. This year, the coaches have decided to try out the Georgia Tech triple option. While it isn't too awful different than the Wing-T or Power-T, it adds a different dimension to the run game, and it capitalizes on our depth at running back and the athleticism of the QB. We ran it all spring and have ran it so far during summer practices. If you want to see it, a highlight reel of the spring scrimmage against Franklin County is on Rhea Review's YouTube channel.
  19. Enjoyed the trip up two years ago! You all have a nice facility, and I think the set-up is one of the best in the area. Excited to see how the new system is working. Always had high respect for Coach McKamey, and it was a shame to see hard times hit your program as hard as they did. I have memories of Clinton being a tough matchup for just about anyone, and I hope the Dragons get back to that sooner rather than later. I'm curious to see that secondary I've read so much about on here the last few weeks. Sounds like it could be a tough one to pass the ball on should the need arise.
  20. Football time is nearly here! Scrimmage at Clinton this Saturday! Who is going and what do you look for out of the Eagles? I'm definitely going, and I look to see the new offense move pretty well on the Dragons, but I am curious about our defense. We lost around 8 or 9 regular contributors on that side, and I want to see our secondary show improvement.
  21. I don't understand what you mean by being talked down on this board? I guarantee you that almost every poster on here will at least be at every home game cheering on the Eagles, wish nothing but the best for these boys, and probably either know or are related to current players. The boys have worked their rear ends off over the off-season, and, as I have mentioned multiple times, have been super impressive at camps across the state and region. I have given them nothing but total support and praise for what they have done, and have not seen any down talking on here as far as I'm concerned, so I'm at a loss as to what you mean...
  22. As long as he stays healthy these next two seasons, I see him being one of the 2020 class's best athletes. If he is already garnering interest and offers from D1 schools as a rising junior playing in an area lightly/rarely recruited by the big schools, his list of suitors will only continue to grow in number and level of competition. He might never play a down of his high school ball in Evensville, but he is making his hometown proud with his talent and achievements, and I have no doubt Eagle faithful will cheer him on the whole way. I do agree, though, that it hurts not seeing him play for the Eagles, but I understand why he left and wish him nothing but the best.
  23. Tech is his second offer. He picked up one from UTC, but deleted the tweet right afterwards. He is also catching some interest from some SEC and ACC programs as he has already been to Georgia, Mississippi State, Louisville, and Arkansas to throw for their coaches. He is really in the best case for him right now as the offense at Meigs takes advantage of his arm and mobility. Our system does not rely too much on the passing game, so it makes it more difficult for kids to get looks at QB, and, with the depth at the spot, he would've kept his middle school position of RB. I hate to see a kid who played for Rhea Middle not wearing the green and gold, but it is what it is, and he is in a much better situation than he would be with us.
  24. According to Coach on Twitter, senior LB/TE Kaleb Laws is beginning to generate some interest from his performances on the camp circuit at Western Kentucky, Tennessee Tech, Kennesaw State, and Tennessee State.
