Dresden MUST take care of business & not have another Hillcrest Vikings fiasco, them beating us 6-0 here, the years after our first gold.. with just 1 loss to Peabody... THAT loss should never, ever be forgotten.. EVER! And for THIS game, I kind of hope MASE wins, which not many thinks they are "for real", or "that good" and haven't played any real competition, but if they do beat UC.. wow, that'd be a big time win & boom, they good then, right? And then I hope Lions best Middle College & then smoke MASE, silencing more Dresden-deniers.. & on other side of bracket, us having already beat Rebels, I hope we have to face undefeated Moore County, and after beating them, we face unbeaten So Pitt in finals, where we win our 2nd Gold, doing so by beating every other "top" school & #1 ranked team along the way, who also had (mainly) undefeated records too this year. Union City has revenge on their mind, as well as the defending champion Rebels too, no doubt.. both losing to the lowly lions they're wanting to correct that L for sure. Besting us when it matters most. Some picked Dresden pre-season to be third in our district.. but here we are. Beating MASE this game would give Tornadoes some confidence for sure, and they might do so. No doubt about it. But I hope MASE wins, not out of dislike nor disrespect for UC, but I want our Lions' winning path to be through all the unbeaten, best teams out there as we EARN this 2nd Gold, being unbeaten 15-0 champs by beating every other undefeated, top team along the way, thus nobody could say if, and, or but's about it... at least nobody sane & sensible anyways. .. Which, BOOM.. I just disqualified myself right there, didn't I? Oops-si-dasium. .. However it happens, GO LIONS.. & may we all have injury free games & play our best ball possible, leaving it all out on that field. & good luck to everyone until we have to face you, then may the Lions have all the good luck & favorable fortunes go our way 100%.. So yeah, I'm for UC as our worthy, nearby rivals, but also hope MASE wins for the abive reasons. Time will tell all.. won't it?

It getting close! I'm thinking I'm too conservative on my score prediction. It'll be worse for them, & better for us whatever the score is. As long as no injuries happen! For either team. I'm hoping to see us score 77 points in one of these games! Black & Gold is on the roll for this year's GOLD!

Which I agree on.. back to NW Tenn.. namely WEAKLEY COUNTY area, & more precisely the county seat: DRESDEN LIONS earning the gold! But for this game, all eyes will be on this contest, it should be the most competitive one in the whole state this round. All year everyone has been asking.. How good is MASE? You better KNOW they will be playing with a huge chip on their shoulder, AND playing for higher reasons perhaps? More motivation? Namely: to get college offers hopefully, & then to get themselves & their families out of the big city. Never under-estimate the psychology & heart of it all.. UC better be ready, & that's being ready more than just X's & O's. Wont be long now, will it?

Memphis Middle College Bulldogs travel to Dresden Lions' Rotary Field Fri.10th, trying to upset us in the second round. This will be a great test for the Lions as this Memphis squad will be better than the last 4 teams we have faced. Will we be rusty? Over-confident? Overlooking them towards future games? Unprepared? .. We really have no excuses to not win, we are healthy in all positions, have depth, great coaching in how we are being prepared for our next opponents, have an awesome bond & brotherhood on & off the field, and WE GOT A KICKER to top it off (which is often a rarity in 1A, & that is a very important weapon!). Hopefully the winds of fortune are blowing right for our Lions, and that these city-slicker Bulldogs will be overwhelmed by the smells, sounds, & sights of the Lions' Den hog-farm out here in the country and they'll not have enough to upset the Lions this game. May all players & staff & cheerleaders & support people on all teams stay healthy & injury free, & may all fans traveling have safe journeys whether they have small or large trips. Sad to see only what, 5 fans or so for Middleton? It's always great for teams to have lots of supportive fans, but that is often not the case for a whole host of reasons. How many ever fans they have. the Lion Nation will be WAAAAY MORE, & we will be loud & proud, noisy & encouraging of our team, cheering them on in this next MUST WIN game. One at a time, one play at a time.. our hungry Lions are on a mission! BEAST MODE MEN! GOOOO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY! Score? 55-14 Lions win.

Second half is 8 min quarters, running clock, Lions have reserves in. We got ball to start 2nd half. Good playing time for our reserves.

55-0 with seconds left in first half.

48-0 Dresden up early in 2nd. Tigers did bust a big play on the first down of second quarter, they got into red zone, but Lions stopped them from scoring, turnover on downs. then we scored for seventh time. .. Real mauling is underway.. Middleton looking for moral victories.. like that 70 yd play they had, or making first downs, or tackling the Lions instead of a TD on almost every touch.

Bet both coaches agree to a running mercy clock in the first half instead of waiting to second half. And Lions will put in reserves pretty soon, maybe.

Going to be interesting to see how many fans show up for Middleton. I hope alot do.. for once they see the mini-promised land & oasis of awesomeness Dresden has here in Weakley County, we might get some new families moving up here from down yonder in Hardeman County. They about 2 hrs away, their county due south sitting on top of Mississippi, and I used to live down there near Middleton two separate times in live, in Saulsbury & in Whiteville. So I do know both areas. Moving North away from there would be a move upward & onward for anyone there who ever thought about moving elsewhere (now plays theme song for "The Jefferson's" TV series.) But that's just my views, whadda I know anyways, this ol' hoot from da hollers? .. One thing is known, Dresden Lions gonna put a clinic on Middleton Tigers tonight. Get there before 6pm for the pre-game shindigs that'll be happening! GOOOOO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY!

Friday Nov 3 in Dresden the #4 seed Middleton Tigers will try to upset #1 Lions. They got into playoffs because TSSAA has Booker T Washington in the penalty box. This will only be Middleton's 5th trip to playoffs in school history, & they've only won one time. Pity these Tigers, no historic upset gonna happen this week imo. 100-0 final score.
