  1. Like most schools who are 1A, athletes come in spurts because they can only draw from, on average, a 10 mile radius. You may have a good stretch of 5 to 9 year but the pool of athletes you draw from is just too small to maintain year in and year out success over a long period of time. Now if 1A schools were able to bus all over middle Tennessee and northern Alabama and invite 8th graders from all over to tour their facility and offer jobs to their parents, then yes, I think a 1A school could build a dynasty.

I didn't ignore anything. I know nothing of that and I'm sure that is just another "hear say" so no need to reply.

Gotcha! LOL! I just asked if it was legal or illegal, I didn't say any school did it......haha.

  3. I'll repeat this questioned since it was ignored by The Consultant.

Is it illegal or legal to invite public school 8th graders to the football locker room before the first round of the playoffs and then let them walk the sidelines?

    Yes

Ok, ya'll keep on justifying it like the privates did in Nashville for years. If ya'll feel like ya'll are in your christian rights and feel 100% sure you aren't cheating then proceed. Just remember perception is reality when you crush a Hampshire or Sante Fe. I know because of my christian beliefs my kids will never take one step on that campus.

    Buses - No

MCPS drawing kids from over 8 to 10 miles radius - Yes

Lawrence County and other counties kids can and do pay extra $ to attend & play sports for Maury County Public Schools

Kids from Santa Fe playing at Hampshire, Columbia kids playing at Mt. Pleasant, Culleoka kids playing at Central, Columbia kids playing at Hampshire, etc.... it's happening!

Parent(s) from Columbia can and do transport kid(s) to Giles County where they play sports

For one reason or another Its all allowed by TSSAA, which is the only thing that really matters. It won't stop until it's not allowed by TSSAA for any school (public or private) to do it.

And CA is drawing from the same pool originally in Maury Co. as well correct?

Yes CA does have two campuses but a student athlete must attend the Columbia campus to play sports.

Yes CA does have buses that travel to a couple surrounding counties. This is at the extra expense to the parent. *Out of county students can & do attend Maury County Public Schools for an extra expense to the parents.

Does MP, Hampshire, Santa Fe, Culleoka or any other school in Maury Co send buses to multiple surrounding counties to pick up students? Or do they just draw kids in their 8 to 10 mile radius?

Hey Johnny come lately. Welcome to the T... Yes, we can do that. It's called answering others comments on certain topics but refocusing on the thread at hand. Other threads back when those actions were taken were spoke of and praised of/for. Fact is the damage had been done, and a few more costly penalties during a shoot out with Grace Christian didn't help one bit neither.

Grace received more unsportsmanlike conduct penalties than MP.  Next excuse.

I think after reading about it all, I got the point. I think it's great that all involved at MPHS is doing what they can and think that's right for our boys - their perrogative... But, they had 10 games to get there, how many more chances do they need? We both know they have the capabilities to beat a lot of teams, but the disciplinary problems on the field hurt them badly and put them out of playoff contentions losing games with a lot of hurt on drives from penalties caused by those disciplinary problems during games. Take those penalties out of those 3 games and MP could be in 1st or 2nd place in the Region and in the playoffs.... THAT is the lesson that those boys should be learning right now especially the younger ones up and coming... Discipline Matters greatly. Learn it, even be it the hard way.

This thread would be better served on topic. MP season is over.

You can't put your 2 cents worth in and then say "This thread would be better served on topic. MP season is over."  MP started out 3-0. There was some unfortunate issues on the field the next two games, nobody is denying that but your #fakenews is forgetting to report that MP went 4-1 after those two games because disciplinary actions were taken. If you want to finish this discussion, I started a thread about 7-3 teams not in the playoffs.

As far as this topic goes, I hope either region 5 or 6 represents in the State Championship game.

You make a valid point and I would be frustrated as well. But that's the current rules. The funny thing is, if they slid you in and y'all won the east.....would definitely show just how messed up of a system that's currently in place.

I think you missed the point, Not complaining about the current rules, they accept that we didn’t win the “right” games, the petition was to give a team the open slot. It was a long shot, but why not take it if you think your team deserves to be in the playoffs. I for one called. The administration fighting for their kids... that’s great.

Wayne County is 7-3... you guys would be upset as well!

The TSSAA awards 10 champions! Why not give the best teams the opportunity to win it. A system that allows 2-8 teams to compete for a championship is ridiculous while .500 and above teams sit at home cause they play in a tougher region, what was wrong with the last plan?

WC89 someone needs to stir up the TSSAA.

Back to topic; GCA hasn’t played the best defense but has an offense that can run. High scoring ballgame is a possibility. Should be a good one

Hate to post on this thread, but have y'all seen where Mt Pleasant principal has sent a letter to tssaa  requesting the Tigers get that open spot in the east against greenback?  What in the world is this guy thinking? I've heard he's got a lot of parents and fans contacting the tssaa. What a joke on top of a joke.

Everyone knows TSSAA is so far behind the rest of the country it is pitiful. The best teams play for championships, not 2-8 and 3-7 teams. Region 5's top 5 teams would win or finish 2nd in most regions in the state. Unfortunately TSSAA would rather sit on their hands and do less work with region alignments than actually putting a plan together to put the best teams into the playoffs. I for one am proud of the coach and administration fighting all the way to the last second for their kids. If people want to call that a joke, see what your response would be if it happened to your team. Only sad joke is that there is an open spot in the TSSAA playoffs while a 7-3 teams sits at home. That's a joke on top of a joke.
