I saw Elizabethton a few times at the beginning of the season, and they couldn't play dead in a cowboy movie. The way they turned the corner in mid January has been impressive. I've never really ever liked Lucas, but the guy sure can coach, thats apparent.
Probably his best coaching job yet. He was definitely not in the top tier as far as talent but he out coached his way to this point. I see Greeneville and Betsy losing tonight but you never know.

I just seen the pairings. Total bs. You've got us, Pickett, and Wayne County on one side of the bracket. NG has a better chance to make the championship game than we do. We would potentially have a first round square off with Emmy Lowe, Callie Reeder, and Zoe Nicholas arguably the best trio of players in 1a. If we win that one, we get another date against miss basketball Blair baugus.
The random blind draw strikes again. They should seed the teams 1 through 8 based on strength of schedule and record.

Is cocke county girls one of the best teams in east tn? They’re 15-1 after Christmas break with key wins over upperman, Northview.
I got to watch them at the Ladies Classic. Really fun team to watch i love their style and coach.

Sounds like some Charlie Bayless stall ball going on at West Ridge tonight...

Won't know til after Friday's quarterfinals. I think it will be Cosby. If we play like this from here on out, we'll be in the Murphy center. Our freshman is getting comfortable out there and starting to get big numbers. We rotated 6 tonight with my girl coming in
Congrats on the win last night man. Probably gonna be the same 2 teams in the Regional final.

So, last night was a night of pleasant surprises...
We played Greeneville in the season finale last night. The injured Hannah Frye started the game for us. I was sitting there kind of perplexed wondering what was going on. Greeneville wins the opening tip and goes down and scores uncontested. We hand the ball back to the Greeneville player on the inbounds who scores again. 4-0 Greeneville. We inbound the ball to Hannah who walks down and scores. Greeneville hands the ball to her again and she scores again. 4-4. Game is stopped for recognition as Hannah reached 1,000 for her career.
I had no clue when she suffered the season ending injury against Wise Central, she was that close to 1K.
Classy move by Greeneville and the game officials for allowing this to happen last night.
As for the game itself, we won 66-61.
As the boys game is set to begin, Caroline Hill and Hannah brought me and my wife a Thank you Card and a $25 gift card signed by our eight seniors just for being supporters and for not missing a game over their tenure. I don't have a daughter on the team. We're just fans. It brought tears to our eyes that they thought of us like that. What an amazing group of young ladies. Hoping Saturday is the beginning of a long and successful post season run for these girls.
Not going to lie, getting to the glass house will be a tall task with Bearden and Farragut in that same sectional. And even Sevier County being in the same region. But these girls proved a lot of folks wrong that they wouldn't win the conference after Hannah's injury.
That's a really wonderful story. What a great group of young ladies.

Yes volunteer is no slouch. I wish we could've got them for a home and away. We need a tough schedule next season. Everyone in our district will be improved and my daughters class are the types who need to be challenged every week.
Yall should go to The Ladies Classic in Greeeneville King. Tell Matt to make it happen next year. The competition level is very high there. Plus its not super far away all things considered.

We beat Volunteer last night 61-39. Think the Lady Falcons had a solid record coming in. I think they should finish second to Greeneville in D2-3A. Frye had an MRI yesterday, but don't think she got the results back yet. She was on crutches last night. We're at the Hill Friday night in the next to last conference game.
Volunteer is a very solid team. When my daughter had an mri her freshman year it took a good 10 days or so to get the results back. Definitely hoping for good news for her.

D-B beat Wise Central last night 53-45. Was up 16 at the end of 3. Quality win against one of Virginia's better programs. We may have lost something bigger though. Senior post Hannah Frye left the game with a knee injury last night and it doesn't look good. She is also one of the better softball pitchers D-B has as well signing to D-1 Gardner-Webb.
Devastating to possibly lose the remainder of her senior basketball season as well as possibly all of her senior softball season.
Impressive win. I hate to hear that about the Frye girl. Hopefully she can come back and play soon

D-B also beat Greeneville on the road though it was only by a point. We still have them to play at home in the regular season finale. I feel like if we can beat Boone Friday, then the conference title is ours even though we still have two more conference games after that. I'm still baffled how we beat West Ridge by 42. I'm ecstatic about it don't get me wrong. But they have three bigs ( a 6'4 and two 6'3) and we killed them on the glass. If I'm West Ridge coach, I can't be too thrilled about that. Having three girls that size at the high school level is a blessing.
It'll be much closer at their place, but just don't see how West Ridge can be 42 points better the second time around.
And Science Hill is clearly the worst team in the conference... only one good shooter.
But that 1A conference when I get to watch it is fun. Loved watching Unaka when they had Ramsey. Never seen UH play though over the years.
What happened to SH girls over this season ? Seems like they started out well but fell apart

Landers 34 NG 22 final. Defensive slugfest from the start. We won the game by getting in transition at certain moments and NG ran out of gas
Nice win for Matt and the girls. Probably the 1st of 4 matchups unless district 2 surprises me.

8th Grade Grandview
9th Grade Spent the summer with Crockett, went to North Greenes freshman orientation only to end up at Boone.

SG wins on a shot at the buzzer. Great game
4 minutes ago, THE KING said:That's encouraging for James. If he can play sg tight then he can play us tight as well. The lady Highlanders will proceed with caution. Me and theultimatewarrior may have to give him that Bobby knight sweater after all lol
Just give the man his sweater lol.

I'm following them and Cosby pretty close. Our girls want to go undefeated and represent at state but they've got to stay focused. We got a little lazy on defense last night against hv. We have to play with energy every second on the floor because we're not going to shoot lights out every night.
I think that was more of Matt calling the dogs off which I have respect for. I say again this is the best Cloudland team I can recall.

GP is also very good. Gonna be a tough road for everyone in Region 1.
This is probably the best GP has been in awhile and that's saying a lot.

Cland with a big win over the lady dogs 53-46. We were down 29-19 at halftime. The girls were jet legged and Matt challenged them in the locker room. We out scored them 34-17 in the 2nd half. It's always intense when these two play.
That was an intense game. They showed what they are made of in the 2nd half.

All that is true. I just hate it when the real title game is in the quarter finals at Murfreesboro. There is no perfect system for it I agree
