-
Who will take this one?

I was told that Covington would have 3 rounds of playoffs at home, then travel to Middle Tennessee for the semi-finals, assuming that we continue to win, of course.
Great!

I think it's a good chance we will be if we can stay healthy.

Here are the current standings in 8-3A
Raleigh Egypt. 4-0
Wooddale. 3-1
Trezevant 3-1
Melrose 1-2
King Prep 0-3
Sheffield 0-4
Looks as if the top 4 are locks for the playoffs. Apparently it will be Melrose at Covington in week 1 of the playoffs.
Will Covington have the first 3 rounds at home?

Anybody know what Region 8 is looking like? I think the region 7 teams will come out on top in the first round of playoffs.

Covington in a close one. Just hope everyone stays injury free!

How are the visitor's stands at South Gibson? Covington will bring a nice crowd, and we find a big variation in the visitor seating. Some places, like Milan, provide nice bleachers for visitors. Lausanne in Memphis, however, had almost more seating on the visiting team's bench than in the visiting stands.
I recall that the old Dyer County visitor's side was tiny, and had tree limbs that hung down to block your view if you sat in the wrong spot. Of course, they built a really nice new stadium there a number of years ago, so I'm talking ancient history here. Still, visitors never know what to expect,
.
Good Question. I need to know if I need to be there a hour early for a good seat.

I have been seeing a few things about SG having some pretty good skill players. I wonder how they will match up against Covington skill players. Covington's Defence hasn't given up much this year. Should be a good one.

Milan by 21 or more.

Yes. Bolivar has already lost two Region games (Milan and SGC). If Covington does win at SGC, then the most Region losses Covington could possibly have is 1 (if Bolivar were to beat them). Since Bolivar has two losses already, they could not finish ahead of Covington.
Now if Covington did beat SGC and lose to Bolivar, then Covington, Milan, and SGC would all have one Region loss. But with that scenario, Covington would have defeated both Milan and SGC. I'm assuming the tie breaker is head-to -head competition, which would make Covington Region 7-3A champ.
I know somebody will straighten me out if I am wrong here. If correct, then this Covington @ SGC matchup could decide the Region championship. Now if Covington loses to SGC, I don't know how things fall out from there.
Ok! Sounds like Friday night should be one for the books. Hope the Chargers can pull it out! Home field advantage in the playoffs will be great.

Is it 100% that if Covington win they will get the number 1 spot? No matter if they lose to Bolivar?
-
I got Covington in this one. The Chargers are on a roll!! Should be a good one since Covington will be on the road in new territory!
-
Covington will win this one without a doubt. Ripley is still trying to get there program back on track. Covington moved to # 4 in 3A this week ! Go Chargers!!

I don't know if Milan will beat south Gibson or bolivar. We have played far below expectations this year.
I think Milan will still be tough in the playoffs against region 8.

Ok so we are midway through the season and everybody has gotten a pretty good look at everybody. I was just wondering what everyone think the standings would look like at week 10. Mine are
1.Covington
2.Milan
3.South Gibson
4.Bolivar
5.McNairy Central
6.Westview
Great region with a lot of great football teams . The top four could go anyway if you ask me.
-
The Cov. Chargers will pull this one off. I think the players have plenty of confidence coming off the big win in Milan!! This win should put us in the driver seat in the region. Go Covington Chargers!!
-
Who will win this game? It has been a good one in years past.
-
I pick the chargers in this one.. They have been moving the ball well the last two weeks. I see them doing the same this week and the defense stepping up against the pas attack of Brighton. GO CHARGERS !!!
Covington @ Bolivar Central
in Class 3A & Class 4A
