Before this thread goes off the rails anymore, I want to congratulate my friend Coach Harris on another gold ball. I'm sure likes winning these games on his old stomping grounds even more, but I'm happy for him this year and can't wait to see them again in the semis next year.

I guess he will have to settle for the 6A state championship and get the silver ball for the IFL state championship over Alcoa

Mid State bias is real man and you can cite 247 all you want but I wouldn't call Barton Simmons the guru of football recruiting.

Yeah he is real stupid....lol you need ur own website to teach us who we should look at from now on. Tennessee probably has u on retainer with the team we see them field

I doubt that. Look, I'm as big of an Alcoa hater (for one week at least) as there is on the planet but let's look at facts but Alcoa's had more players in Power 5 schools/NFL than Oakland ever has or ever will.

Really? Are u going back to the 80s and 90s? Show me stats? Why don't you look at this year's teams and see who the power 5 teams are looking at for talent. Who has more power 5 prospects, Oakland has more than anyone

They're definitely good, but not unbeatable. I know of 2 teams that COULD beat them if Oakland was on the road. Beating them at their house or a neutral site though, that would be tough....

Having seen both Alcoa and Oakland, I could see that IFL game being a nail biter. The only reason I'd pick Alcoa in that one is because they finally found a QB that could make Oakland pay. Oakland wouldn't run all over Alcoa either and that hybrid Wing T plays right into Alcoa's strength.

IFL games are very hard to win especially for the team that is much better and with better athletes than the other teams had faced ever in their football career.

  5. This Oakland team is the best Tennessee high school football team I have seen in a very long time. Not many weaknesses, ton of speed and athletes everywhere. No wonder they have beat up on weak Tennessee high school football teams this year. You guys are impressive, the unfortunate thing is our university in Knoxville probably won't get your best players because we are so sorry this year.

Really really good game and we sure appreciate y’all!

On a side note, imma give y’all a delayed trophy for sportsman of the match. Whomever #10 is is quite the gentleman. During a game folks usually stand out with their athleticism, speed, skills, etc.. but this dude stood out for his mannerism throughout the game. Among other things, he was picking up folks from the Lions that got knocked down, heck he helped up a Lion that knocked HIM DOWN.  Whomever his parents are, they better be darn proud. That’s a good kid. *Clap*

McKenzie Lunsford and he is a great kid. He's had a great career for the Redskins were going to miss ole Lumpy.

Wasnt able to be there. I knew it would be a blow out from watching them earlier in the season. Offense is downright terrible and a turnover machine. Instead of developing talent they scramble their defense with kids out of position. #34 is a great player. And plays decent at linebacker but he could be an all state end. They are sacking his college opportunities to cover up their deficiency at developing linebackers. This is probably why coach got ran out of Sequatchie after his talent groomed by someone else dissipated. As coach herrons players have graduated out this program has like wise took a step back every year. Monterey may actually be the best football program in the county now. Maybe we can trade him back to Sequatchie for the Stone coach. I got a nephew coming up soon so hopefully they get this figured out or get gone. #overrated #bringbackHerron

 Did someone else log into your account and post on the 1st page of this thread?  Because going off of that you didn't say that it was going to be a blowout. I will say this if you didn't get to come last night you missed hearing cowbells for 4 quarters. I give it to the Upperman fans no matter the score they pull for their kids till the end.  Watching our 3rd and 4th string kind of worried me a bit giving up 2 TDs against a team with that much lack of speed. Were going to have to coach them kids up next couple of years.
