And couldn’t stop a team that 99% runs the ball all the time? Everyone talked about the speed out west, and how Springfield and Heywood were so fast in 2019 and 2020. I personally watched Elizabethton curb stomp them by smothering them on defense and, I admit I was even stunned by this, show more speed than either team. Now, PC IS a well balanced team. But, I just haven’t seen the defense that can stop AC.
Saturday will be an interesting game for sure. Both teams deserve to be there. But only one will walk away with the Title. And as we all know, anything can happen. That’s why we all are on here. Because we all LOVE our high school football.

You’re all over the place dude, this years haywood team was by far better than the 2020 squad.. we had 3 turnovers offensively all year. A key injury hurt us and a few things didn’t go our way. The realist PC know exactly what I’m referring to as well, but hey we got beat. It’s a reason you play the game n not talk about it

You mean the Tomcat team that threw for under 200yds, 1TD and 1int on the season? Man, that ain’t awesome. That’s a one dimensional team. And I didn’t see any defense in that semifinal game from either side. I’ll call it now. AC is a more complete team. That can play defense. Defense wins championships. The offensive side just happens to be good too. AC gets their first Title on Saturday. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong. But that’s how I’m viewing it.

Our QB threw for 1900 yards 25 tds to 2 ints and over 3000 yards rushing as a team this year lol…

On Nov. 22, Coach Smith tweeted, "Haywood County is looking for football games on August 18th, August 25th, September 1st, and October 6th. If interested, please DM me or email me at …"

That tweet has aroused my curiosity.  Who do we have scheduled on September 22 and September 29?

    Sept 22 is filled

I knew they played Bartlett in the preseason. Didn’t know if they played Henry County or not (and if the Henry County game was jamboree, to me that doesn’t count because only a few amount of plays due to running clock).

But it’s a PC team that played Cane Ridge and MBA. Cane Ridge kept their game with Beech somewhat competitive in 6A quarterfinals. To me, Montgomery Bell is probably a top 5 (maybe top 3) team in the state regardless of classification.

I do realized Haywood played Covington, which I believe is their toughest game so far. Y’all can add Milan and Lexington as “quarterfinal” teams. Well, someone has to be there. They’re not quarterfinal teams in the eye test. Everybody knows what to expect out of Lexington.

Again, tremendous respect for Haywood and I like them to win. Don’t love them because I have respect for PC, and I can see them pulling off the win as well.

Haywood plays who they play I’m sure as well as everyone else knows how difficult it is for Haywood to schedule games

What kind of offense can we expect to see PC run? I am assuming it will be similar to what Haywood runs. Uptempo good mix of run vs pass. Is their qb a dual threat? Can he throw it?

From watching on YouTube, he has a pretty good arm. A good mix of run and pass. Not much of a hurry up, they don’t huddle much though

My first reaction was to say I wouldn't be surprised, but on second thought I agree. I think he wants to fry bigger fish. Also, not a lot of coaches want to jump in and have to deal with Haywood every single year.

Hookfin is making too much money as an Administrator in Arkansas i high doubt a return

Better resources and more money = more in depth offenses?

You can’t make kids want to play ball. Outside of Haywood and Henry Co. who is dressing more than 70 kids? It come down to coaches not being innovative. Haywood shook that 8 years ago. Some coaches are just stuck in their ways
