What about White House? They have the worst schedule in 4a with Ac a close 2nd
White house coming off an 0-10 season to an undefeated season says a lot. I do feel that they are overrated because most teams that they have beaten are if not 500. teams are below 500. best team they've played was springfield. I wouldn't say Haywood is underrated, they just aren't respected to be honest. They've been quietly handling teams left and right, and possibly has played the toughest schedule in 4a this year

lol Haywood isn't chester county.

I agree that Haywood is the more athletically gifted team than Obion. But, the final score in their contest a couple of weeks ago is a little deceiving. Obion had the ball inside the Haywood 10 twice in the first half and didn't convert. That is a credit to Haywood's very stout defense. Also, in the 2nd half, a couple of Obion turnovers (a fumble and an int) deep in their own territory gave Haywood a short field for two scores. Again, kudos to Haywood's defense for forcing turnovers and converting on offense. They were the better team at the end of the game. Period. But, it could have easily been 14-13 OC or 13-7 HC at the half, then without those two turnovers, possibly a 21-14 score heading into the 4th quarter. With any game, when you are outmanned, you try to get to the 4th quarter within striking distance; you give yourselves a chance. A couple of plays here and there, and OC would have been right there. Again, this is not taking away from Haywood. Deservedly, they are the best team in our region, and they are the class of West Tennessee AAAA. They will quite possibly will be playing for the gold ball in December- with a good chance to bring it home.
I'm not saying that Haywood wont win by 50; but I'm also not conceding that it's an easy victory against an OC team that plays ball control, and if they can take care of the ball and get a few defensive stops, it could be a slugfest.
All that said, on paper, Haywood should take OC to the woodshed. Good thing the game is played on the field. Good luck to both teams for a hard-fought, injury-free contest!
Side note: Region 7AAAA is one of only 3 statewide in all public classifications to sweep in Round 1. Great job by 4 class-act coaches and teams. Congrats!
I agree, I'm looking forward to a great play off games! My prediction Haywood 35 Obion 17

Haywood’s playing with a chip on there shoulder and honestly all odds against them

Of course Haywood needs to worry about Obion, that is the smartest thing for Haywood people to say. But come on now, Haywood beat Obion Central by 4 touchdowns just 8 days ago, and that game was in Troy. Now, the game is in Brownsville. Crockett and Dyersburg will give them everything they got, but I believe in Haywood's defense and McRae and Reed will get the job done offensively.
I wasn't trying to throw a shot at White House, and if they (WH people) feel like I did, I apologize. South Side is getting better, but they're still a tick above mediocre. Hardin County is good, but they can't find a way to get out of the 1st and 2nd round. Lexington is a good quality team with a predictable offense.
I just thought coming in Friday that 3 of the 4 Region 6-4A teams will go down, I didn't expect all four Region 6-4A teams to have a competitive game on Friday. That's all.
I was Jus finna say Haywood beat obion by 28 the last game of the regular season, and that’s was after a 15 penalty game by the tomcats. Obion turned the ball over on downs twice, and fumbled 3 times. They are not a team who can play from behind. That got them in trouble against

This one will be a dog fight, I agree that whoever stops the run will win.
-
It will be a very tight game both teams playing for a homegame!!!!

Your boys will get their shot at revenge in the playoffs...I’d focus on that...but not too much...I’ve seen what happens when you look too far ahead to a specific opponent...although that means district is a complete sham
i expect Haywood to drop another 50 or so tonight, working on things...finishing off a game...
Crockett needs to focus on there last two regular season games, because if they lose tonight then lose to dyersburg there confidence will be shook
-
Crockett didn't take out there 1st string on offense and defense until he ran in for his 5th string, Haywood then took out its starters on on defense and when got the ball back took a knee. The game was way closer than you think. you take away Crockett's interception, and that late fumble, They are still in the game easily
-
well when your two running backs only play offense and they're both in a game, its hard tryna jus throw somebody in there when you only practice 2 running backs.

Haywood has a very good team no doubt about that. Crockett Co. didn't lay down after getting down 35-7 and actually got it to 35-28. One thing I didn't understand though....why did Haywood keep it's starters in with very little time left up 3 TD's? Did they just want to rub salt in the wound? I was really surprised Hookfin did that. From the looks of things, Haywood will be strong for several years to come but karma is real.
He doesn’t leave his starters in always, hookfin has been in playoff mode since the loss to MUS. It wasn’t to rub salt into the womb, he repeatedly says he is working on his teams weaknesses
-
Decourtney Reed 200+ yards and 5 TDs!!!! Too much speed for the Crockett county faithful
-
don't know we shall see
-
Haywood is very good against the deep ball there hasn't been a deep ball thrown on them all year literally lol
-
It'll be a great one to watch, finally some hard nose football and what better way for it to be Haywood@Crockett.
-
I'm not counting them out haywood doesn't run outside they run at you kind of how crockett does. Like I said none of the teams they've played are as physical as Haywood. I'm excited to see this game. I watched the Obion game and saw him favoring that knee of his coming off the field at times. I don't underestimate crockett's defense at all, but are you underestimating the young offensive line of haywood who has moved the ball against teams such as henry county, usj, braircrest, MUS, as well as a stout defense in dyersburg.

Branch doesn't start both sides of the ball he starts d end and comes in on short yardage downs, and I guess you haven't seen the speed we have also on our defense? We seel the edge great and big strong players in the middle I guess we will see Friday night
I've seen it, they aren't as fast as haywood, crockett has speed but not like haywood. I know he doesn't start both sides, but he plays both sides. That can play a factor especially since no one for haywood plays both ways.
-
I still say Haywood edges them 28-24, not one team has matched the physicality of crockett this year, the best team they've played is South Gibson
-
The Physicality will be matched by Haywood's front, they are all young, but all saw time last year, haywood has 5 new starters on there oline and are averaging well over 270 yards rushing a game. It's gonna come down to who makes mistakes. haywood will also have advantage over Crockett in the speed area. if Crockett wants to win it easily, Jordan Branch can not play both ways against the Tomcats
-
Will be a great game, I'm think both teams will come out a lil sluggish at first with them both coming off by weeks. Key for haywood will be to wrap up on tackling, and executing on offense. I like Haywood in this one 28-24

It’s Haywood vs Everybody. Taking down a team twice in the same season. Haywood Jus completed it first game was 63-35 they won tonight 49-21 after a smash mouth first half. If your players are playing both ways, i hope they’re conditioned
