It looks like a great hire for Meigs. In the long run a better coach than the one that left for Sweetwater, from everything I hear. This year it will be between Central and Tyner. I don't think anyone else can hang with them.
Pretty sure you are right about Tyner. Not heard much on Central. If our new coach is as good as advertised it should be an upgrade from Tommy. I personally believe we sent Tommy to Sweetwater so we could extend the streak we have going against them.

good hire for meigs...seen him operate the last couple years...he obviously wanted to be there and wanted a HC title....them CoC'ers wanted to keep him and couldnt
Booger just sayin
I don't know alot about him, but he seems to garnered some respect from the coaching world that he's been a part of. May take a few years to get things going his way, but if he sticks around Meigs outlook is definitely turning around.

I wonder if we have integrated a Trojan horse ?
Just sayin, If we beat them after sending them our coach then it was a planned event all around.

This is a homerun hire! I've known Nathan since he was in middle school. He's a well-rounded young Christian man who has worked his way up by coaching under some awesome head coaches.
I was told he was a great offensive mind. Look forward to seeing what he brings and who as far as assistance coaches.

Pretty sure we have a coach
And a good hire from what Im told.

Who is the next captain YETI, any news out of your guys camp?
I've still nott heard anything but also haven't spoken to anyone. Most of the people I got info from have had their kids graduate. Guess I'll know when they let it out. I'm curious who has interviewed so far if anyone.

YETI would know more about this statement and its not bashing by the way just statement been said, said that the SUPER and admin is the issue at MC.
Meigs being down just likely means we will be an average 3A team in 2024. It's still better than half the teams out there. We ikely won't win the region, but probably wont plast last either. As far as beating Sweetwater, I'm sure it will still be a good game between us. If they win congrats them. I'm sure they will be happy. If we win its also not a big deal. We were used to it for about a decade anyway.

I was told Friday night at the BB game that no one had any idea, not even the assistants, supposedly he dropped it on them Thursday. He definitely burned some bridges the way he went about this, if it doesn’t work out at Sweetwater, I don’t see him coming back to Meigs.

Yeti where have you heard the Meigs kids transferring to? I’ve always thought of Meigs and McMinn as sister schools so to speak. I hate to hear Meigs losing players
He did go to central I'm told, he was already considering a transfer before Tommy left though I had heard mid season.

Something has happened behind the scenes at Meigs. Youre not going to be an assistant for as long as he was, and finally get the head coaching job like he did, and have a 12-1 season your first year to give it up to go to a dumpster fire like Sweetwater is. Everyone knows what happened at Sweetwater and how the previous coach was treated. Im sure i could find out what happened, but honestly I just dont care. It has to be bad to choose Sweetwater over what he had despite a talent level drop. That's just my opinion and assumption honestly. Nothing more. Again I wish him well. It will be funny though if we Continue the streak against Sweetwater next year.
That being said I'm pretty sure we pay the head coach for football pretty good at Meigs. Ive heard the figure not that its entirely accurate, but considering the amount we should be able to to afford a proven individual if one is available. Ofcourse we could get someone on staff again you never know.

I was told about this last night. Meigs will be down and some kids are already transferring knowing this fact. Shame though, He's a good coach. Sweetwater has had more talent than Meigs more often than not. With a good coach if he doesn't get hammered by the parenting like the last football coach and basketball coach he will likely do really well. The only flaw out of Bunch that I seen last year is discipline was out of Control. Best luck to him.

Just guessing but I’d say after the one transfer traditional rules apply. Parents will still move and things will still happen. My guess would be after one transfer then you sit a year unless a legitimate move or waiver occurs.
I think this would be the best way to go.

Roll Call...
l. The state office has been charged by the state legislature to ask TSSAA member schools about their desire to modify the existing transfer rules of the association.
The state office asked the membership to vote for one of three options:1) Keep the current transfer rules.
2) Provide students the opportunity to transfer one time after establishing a high school athletic record.
3) Provide students the opportunity to transfer one time after establishing a high school athletic record provided the transfer takes place before they begin their 10th grade year.If #2 is chosen, and you transfer a 2nd time. Do you have to sit out a year before you can play a sport? Or you can't play any sport after your 2nd transfer?
I'm ok with either one. Just curious if they will try to throw in *hardship* rulings to accommodate that criteria.

Game over.
Giles you got a good team. Safe travels home.
Proud of our team regardless of the loss. #7 was a treat to watch this year. Wish him and the rest of the boys the best.

Giles controlling the clock too? A missed face mask and the missed live ball and the late hit earlier in the game that wasn't called? Come on man
I said they weren't good lol. They've missed alot from your team too, strange you didn't mention that. Come on man

Truth is, refs have been horrible both ways. They have an army and are missing alot and calling nothing alot of times. Truth.

Meigs getting mad now, number 4 is not the only player on giles
We haven't had much of anything happen since 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. #7 getting hurt fornusnpretty much seals the deal.. not to mention letting your guys run for 20 yards a carry since.

We lost a coach and are supposed to be down in talent. One problem already fixed it looks like and a good coach will get the most out of what kids he has. So yeah things are already looking better than expected the way I see it.
