  1. 1. Coffee Co . 2. Tullahoma 3. Lincoln Co. 4. Lawrence Co. 5 Franklin Co. 6. Shelbyville 7. Columbia

All-District - Bella Vinson - CC, AK Richardson - LC, Julia Duncan - THS, Ashton Holman - FC, Chloe Willis- Lawrence Co.

The media and coaches votes were tallied together.

Mo Patton with the Columbia Newspaper has a very good article on the meeting.

  2. 8-AAA is having a Media Day on Oct 28. Coaches will be conducting a pre-season poll as well as the media. Should be a very competitive district this year. I really think the 1st team all disrtict team will have a player from 5 different teams and i could see 3 teams receiving 1st place votes. Gonna be a wild year. I'm ready for some hoops.

  3. Ashton Holman is the PG at FC, very athletic. Columbia got a transfer in from Oakland that will be all district. Saw them this summer and they are much improved. I predict they win their first district game in 3 years this season

  4. Alexander is very good but its real hard to farm without hey in the barn and the barn is empty at Shelbyville. Holman cant make anything outside of 4 feet. I saw every team in our district pick her up about the 2nd block lol. Richardson is very good at Lincoln co and makes her team even better. Should be a fun year in 8-AAA.

  5. yeah shelbyville only had 7 to 8 players this summer. We are up to 9 now lol. Coffee got an 8th grader from Grundy Co. She scored 1000 points in middle school, she sees the floor and understands the game really well and will get Vinson the ball when she is open.  I bet nobody calls Vinson by the wrong name lol, just messing with you Lady Cavs Fan. Good luck to you this year.

  6. Tullahoma returns everyone and Coffee lost Morgan and Vaughn but they do return All-State district MVP Bella Vinson. I agree Lawrence will be much better. I think Coffee, Lincoln, Tullahoma will be 1-3. I think Lawrence and Franklin will fight for the 4th region spot and Shelbyville and Columbia will be at the bottom. Tullahoma will have the advantage early because they will have a 3 month head start on practice lol

  7. How does everyone see this district finishing this season? New coaches at Franklin Co and Shelbyville. Can Columbia snap a very long district losing streak? I can see spots 4-7 being very competitive.

8 total players or 8 good players?

8 total players, we only had 1 new girl at tryouts, gonna be our worst team ever. Columbia will beat us, it’s that bad.

I have been told my lady rebels at fc are starting to come together and new kids are looking good. I believe cc is only team that has played and maybe schs but cc has scheduled weak teams and dominated.  I can not wait to see my rebels take the floor under new leadership and it will be fun to see schs with a new coach and what they are able to do.

Lmao - warren co beat your lady rebels at vb camp and the refs exact words were and I quote, I should get hazard pay for basketball this bad.  We have 8 girls at Shelbyville now, I did watch Lawrence co get throttled by Farragut and I saw Coffee beat Cookeville handily.

Several new head coaches going into next season, I didn't expect coach cretton to retire so early from walker valley but they are getting a great coach in soddy daisy old coach and a assistant in a former Bradley standout in kaylan withrow. I expect walker valley to actually compete this year and finish 2nd or 3rd in district so all three Bradley county teams will probably finish in top 4 in district. I'd pick McMinn 3rd then Cleveland 4th. Cleveland is rebuilding so it will be a tough season for them, walker valley and McMinn will both compete to 2nd. Bradley is the Alabama of aaa girls basketball, they don't rebuild they just reload lol. I'd expect them to get picked to either repeat or at least make it back to state but another team from district 4 could surprise. East Hamilton won't be as good without Madison Hayes, of course they said same thi mg about Bradley last year without Howard So well see..  So my early prediction for district 5 is Bradley, McMinn, walker valley, Cleveland, East Hamilton, soddy daisy and ooltewah. District 7 got a shakeup too with couple coaches retiring or going elsewhere like Jennifer grsndstaff

Hayes will be back, know what your saying before you speak and please, please, please, get spell check!!!

  11. No, she was fired, heard she had been working 2 jobs and they thought that was taking time away from the program. Had been working in the alumni office at mtsu and it is hard to devote enough time to a high school program when your trying to double dip.

What the heck Ole Eagle Eye? Thought she was a good one and did well with what she had.

I thought they would keep her, 29-29 overall, missed the region for the first time in program history, won district tournament her first year and I thought that would have earned her a couple years..

In basketball you can look it up - won 22 games in 2017, but I know math is difficult for you.

I am not Jan, but good guess.

Mike - I didn't even know you coached AAU lol, I wouldn't play for you nor let any of my children play for you - nice try.  sleep well, I do too

Yall have a great day letting me live rent free in your heads =)

In 2016-17 they went 10-19 and lost by 60 in region and in 2017-18 they went 20-10 and came in 4th in the district. Banner years lmao

I have been watching FC for years and I am not sure why you and some others keep saying their best player left last year and went to Huntland. The little black PG by far is the best player on that team.  I think her last name is Holmes or Holman, and as far as losing 6 seniors they were a help, but were not the leading scores.  Yes  a good player did go to Huntland, and yes they lost 6 seniors, but unless 1 of the 6 is the little PG(above) with a good coach/ support case, FC could be a surprise in 8AAA.

LOL Been watching them for years and don't know the best players name. The girl that went to Huntland is a great scorer and Holman can defend better but is a liability on O. I've seen teams literally not guard her until she gets in the paint. Next time you go to a game try and read the program and learn the names, or get someone to read it to you.

  15. 58-61 the last 4 years, 26-22 in the district and 8 of those were against Columbia lol. Never higher than 3rd in the district and double digit first round losses in the region. I can see why you are proud.
