  1. Upperman will not agree to this game ever. It would kill the recruiting factor. Although kids had rather play smith, watertown and cannon rather than Sparta, Cookeville, and Stone Memorial on a nightly basis. Upperman can compete for a state with the kids they have, on the other hand Cookeville can't play within 25 of Riverdale. Mom and Dad tend to prefer the easy road to Murfreesboro and i promise it doesnt run through Cookeville.

  2. it can be anywhere and i've even seen that rule waived. Penny Hardaway was Head Coach at memphis east without being a teacher and now he is at the University of Memphis. Kirk Haston coaches at perry county and was a lottery pick in the NBA. TSSAA can do what they want when they want.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but the TSSAA requires certain head coaches to be faculty members: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Track and Field/Cross County. That applies to head coaches only. All other coaches (JV, Freshman, Assistant) can be non-faculty members but must pass a general background check administered by the county. The person may or may not be paid... could be volunteers and not paid.

The topic is a little vague but I'm assuming the AAU coach was just on the bench and not the Head Coach.

Where the problem may lie which is why this was posted in the first place is if athletes from the AAU program begin transferring to the school they volunteer or assistant coach at. At that point a violation occurs with coaching connections. The athlete would be ineligible for a year. There are a few loopholes with private schools... etc...

If you have been a non-faculty assistant for 5 years  then you can be a head coach. Pickett Co., Memphis East, Perry County all have or have had non faculty head coaches. White Co just hired a non faculty Head Football Coach who won a state championship in Georgia.  Many many many schools have non faculty head coaches who do a great job.

  4. They dribble on sidewalks really well lol     - SWOLE PATROL LMAO - District mvp is now 20 games below .500 in her career and the little guy stopped coaching last night in the 2nd half. On the positive side, his assistant aka HYPE-MAN SCREAMED YEAH 71 TIMES DURING WARM-UPS AND THE FIRST PERIOD!!!!

I agree with everything you are saying except wildcats played blackman and not central.  your theory is air tight but you fail to research anything you talk about and have no basis for the argument but to simply start the news cycle.  riverdale preseaso ,white county, blackman, oakland, cannon is about as tough of an opening stretch as any first year coach has to deal with especially with a young team and no seniors.  this coming from a fc fan for over 30 years.

I have not been around it for 30 years so you probably know way more than me. I'm sure that tough schedule will come in very handy when you play 1 win warren co. When is that game btw?

  6. Didn't Shelbyville and Coffee Co have first year coaches last year? Central Magnet and Cannon co were a combined 16-36 last year and neither got out of district. Tullahoma has the district MVP and has a losing record all 3 years of her career. Only bright spot is that they get Warren Co next lol

  7. OK, I stand corrected, my girls may be in for a long season. We really struggled last night at Cannon. Mccord was the only bright spot, we gave up 60 to a mediocre AA team. We will come in 4th at best. I say it will be a 3 way battle between Coffee, Tullahoma and Franklin Co.

  8. How does everyone see this district shaking out. I stopped by the gym yesterday and our boys look 20 points better than last year. That being said I think we are still towards the bottom.

    1. Columbia

    2. Coffee Co

    3. Lawrence Co

    4. Tullahoma

    5. Lincoln Co

    6. Shelbyville

    7. Franklin Co

  9. I was in Tullahoma yesterday and a parent told me that TSSAA has taken away the first week of practice from the Lady Cats for practicing early. Illegal players, early practice, not a good start for the little guy!!!!

  10. How does everyone see this district shaking out?

    1. Shelbyville - Tradition Continues

    2. Coffee Co - lost only 1 starter

    3. Tullahoma - district mvp returns and illegal transfer will help

    4. Franklin Co - Could but won't, hard to overcome 30 fouls per game

    5. Lincoln Co - well coached, not much hey in the barn.

    6. Lawrence Co - Rebuilding

    7. Columbia - Got mule day to look fwd to.

  11. They already live in Tullahoma and drove to community each day which puts them outside the 20 mile radius. No chance she is eligible next season. Tullahoma has hired her dad as a volunteer asst but he is not a certified teacher which is the only way an exemption would be allowed.

  12. Saw where the freshman post from Community is at summer camp with Tullahoma. Very interesting move, why would you leave a program who has a shot at a district title to go to a perennial door-matt and have to sit out a year. Makes no sense!!! She will not be eligible until 2019-20.

  13. What is going on in Franklin Co. - My stepdaughter told me yesterday that they lost a good player to Huntland and that the twins quit. They had a really good freshman class before this mass exodus started!!!
