  1. I am shocked noone has tried to take the slant away. That is a great play for them for sure. Oh Footballpops is taking a break from trying to fight Greeneville fans to comment on our thread. He is an All State receiver, obviously he is very good. I think he hurts teams most with the sweep, just my humble opinion. No need to try and fight me in the parking lot over it. :thumb:

  2. They don't run a 3-4, they run a 3-5-3. If they did run a 3-4 they would have two safeties and would most likely be running Cover 2. I seriously doubt you will see a team like Central try to cover 23 in man. He is too fast and too shifty for that. You put a corner to press and a safety over the top. He is a decent receiver but what I think he does the best is when they have him run the ball on a sweep. He is so fast getting to the edge that athletic teams like Clarksville have trouble stopping him. Can't wait til Friday, may be biggest game in Centrals history or at least as long as I have been around (which is longer than I would care to admit).

  3. Now I know all the Springfield fans are football experts but is it possible that WH ran into an opponent that just wasn’t a good matchup for them. A team that likes to grind it out is often a bad matchup for a team with great speed. Or you could all be right and they lucked into an undefeated regular season and district championship. Playoffs are a different beast all together when your playing opponents your not familiar with.

I'm gonna say this. Montgomery Central has no business being mentioned like they are some sort of premier team.  Last year they were bottom of the region. In almost every case of a team turn around it takes time. It did with Springfield, and 99% of the teams that turn the corner. I'm wondering if it ain't some shady business going on up there like some of the Montgomery county schools. I said it because it needed to be said. 35-14 Springfield.

They were supposed to be decent last year but quarterback got hurt. These kids this year have been three year starters for the most part and that experience is paying off. I guess when White House went from winless to undefeated its because they were shady too right? Give me a break

  5. Nothing. They have done nothing to be impressed by, what I said is they have impressive athletes. The safety and running back could play for anyone in the state. They just run a junior pro offense. Put Springfields coaches at Kenwood and they would be destroying people. I actually really have no affiliation with MC, I pull for all the schools in the county to do well. I would argue just as passionately for any of the county schools. MC is just having the best year so far, since Northeast had their issue. I would love to see this rivalry grow but MC has to be good consistently for that to happen. I do enjoy reading your "analysis" Kevin, just think these teams are too evenly matched to call this a blowout.

  6. If you think Springfield has more athletes than Kenwood, your crazy. I have seen both teams play in person and it’s not even close. With that being said Springfield has by far better coaches than Kenwood. As far as MC being one dimensional, by no means is Springfield super complicated offensively either. They have one special athlete but don’t fool yourself into thinking they are just way better at every position than Montgomery Central. This will be a close game, I just can’t see this being a blowout. Can’t wait to see what happens.

  7. No respect for the Indians here, guess they just lucked into 7-0. They have played athletic teams, Kenwood is freaky athletic and they handled that pretty well. Portland is a very good team with a running qb and they did pretty well with them. Just something to keep in mind. I am calling for the upset

    MC-24 Springfield-21

  8. As far as Central/Portland I understand the bus issue but getting to the stadium late doesn’t take away from the fact they got shut out 30-0. I went to Central game tonight and they struggled defensively but their running game is top notch. They have a thunder and lightning combo going on with 33 and 3. Both those backs run hard and love contact. Springfield may be a tough matchup for them but they are playing with house money right now, no one expected them to make the playoffs much less play for district championship. It will definitely be a huge game!

They make the school self report after it has been turned in. Guess you don’t know the rules as good as you think.

So you think that once they are turned in, the TSSAA calls the school and says hey guys you better self report yourselves. Are you serious? That doesn’t even make sense, it seems way more likely that a deal was made with a media member to claim it was self reported to make the school look better. Keep telling that Truth though.

  10. It would have took any idiot a max of ten minutes to look this rule up and not have had this problem. Everyone feels for the kids but at the end of the day the HC has to take responsibility. I wouldn’t want to look those kids in the face and admit I didn’t know the rules. Also, didn’t the newspaper say it was “self reported” Guess that was a lie since now everyone is pointing fingers.

  11. So now that we have established that Central shut out Portland because their bus was late I have completely changed my mind. But seriously I have not seen every Central game, I usually go to the best game in the County and I was at NE last night. Seems like Creekwood have them all they wanted last night, I would place them ahead of Portland and possibly BDP as well. Of course this could change depending on the health and continued development of Portland’s bus driver.
