Looks like Malachi Rider from Paducah Tilghman isn't wrestling this weekend. State champ from KY would've been a great addition to 152.

Dupill gets revenge this time around. Great match. Didn’t disappoint.

Also shows how tough duals was in small school considering their history in small school.
2021: No medal
2020: Fourth
2019: No medal
2018: No medal
2017: No medal
They were runner-up in 2019

Not sure why the brackets haven't been posted on TSSAA, but if you go to the event on track you can figure it out if you click on Teams. It's looking like:
Fairview
Tullahoma
Munford
Greeneville
Signal Mountain
Page
Gibbs
Pigeon Forge

Looks like 106, 113, and 120 were the last three matches of the dual. Dual was already won…maybe they just forfeited out? Not sure, just speculating.

In my experience, if schools don't do it matside, it's usually whichever coach gets to it first. One will enter it in then the other has a chance to approve or change it. Doesn't matter if it's visiting or home team. Obviously some coaches don't care about putting in results while others are pretty good about it. Is there strategy involved? Maybe, who knows.

Parton was a state champ in 2020. Again, doesn't change what everyone has said about the matter, but just setting the record straight.

Alex Ables beat by Hunter McKenna 13-11

Can anyone explain why Lewis forfeited to Uhorchuk at 126?
Would also like to know. Was looking forward to that one.

Did not see match between Lippincott and Johnson...says Johnson won by MFor. Anyone know what happened?

The NFHS feed is already driving me crazy. Keeps going out and I have to refresh and watch another commercial before getting back to that match.

Fairview over Pigeon Forge 39-36. Injury default in the second to last match (in what looked like a sure PF win) gave Fairview the lead 39-30 which sealed it.

Right, but if you follow the matches, there is not a conso semi match scheduled which would only take place after the championship semis match. It looks like they are giving everyone two matches.
I see what you're saying now, I guess that's right. Interesting

There is not a conso bracket. How I am reading this, you can only make it to the third place match if you make it to the semi-finals. Am I wrong on how I am reading the bracket?
It doesn't show it, but if you look at the schedule it includes consolation matches and 3rd place match. Not sure if they included all the rounds like a normal bracket or if the consolation side is shortened.

Same. If the two were to wrestle, I'd bet on Mason.

Good question. I was discussing team state, but I like PF & Gville in the individuals as both squads return 3 state champions.
I heard Dalon from PF moved to Lakeway Christian. Not sure if true though.

Fairview oughta be pretty strong again this year.

Also noticed they made an AAA and A/AA for DII Dual Wrestling. Kept it all one class for traditional.

I think I agree with most all your pics except HW. Alcoa kid should win that, he’s undefeated and has beat Devotis 3 times this year already. So I will take Lance vs Devotis in finals with Lance winning it all.
I'm with you, I'm taking Alcoa. Kid is good.
What happened to Kechter from Elizabethton? He was pretty dang good too, but didn't wrestle regionals.

This almost happened last year. I believe they were inviting the 3 state champions in each weight class plus a 4th wild card wrestler in each weight. As I understand it they were going to do a 4 team quad match with wrestlers mixed among the teams. It was supposed to be the same weekend as AAU State. I'm not sure what finally made them cancel, but I assume it was lack of wrestlers wanting to commit to it. Some didn't want to cut weight, some didn't want to risk injury, some for other reasons. Not entirely sure though, just my understanding of it.

Oh man, had no idea this was an option. That will be fun to watch. Need an individual tournament too like Kentucky.
