We have a Fargo Champ!!!!   Big Shoutout to Dayne Dalrymple for bringing a Fargo Championship home to TN!!  Dayne dominated his Junior Greco Bracket at 132p.  A bracket that was absolutely loaded.

Christian Brothers has become a Greco producing machine.  They just seem to keep producing these Greco Champs.

Big Win for UTC wrestling as Dayne will be reporting to UTC in a couple of weeks.

Also, big shoutout to Ashton Davis of Cleveland who finished 4th in Greco at 220p and is bringing another stop sign for him home!

That's the 4th champ from CBHS, just wondering numbers from other schools. Anyone have any idea?

Of course you gotta get it going!! I think what Scott’s saying is congratulations Tony ! And the ground zero meaning new school new program new kids not all but some !  Tony’s a strait good dude cares about kids has open door policy  for any kids that need practice ! So please don’t start bashing him when you don’t know him ! My kid will be there soon I dig the guy ! How about trading that jealousy in for some encouragement ? Guess he’s a threat to ya  Johnny LOL

I think he is one heck of a coach, and has brought these kids along great. And well deserving of the Coach of the year award.

My comment was solely on the "ground zero" remark. And why would he be a threat to me?  Stop reading into it any further than what I said, if you know me or anything about me, I call it like I see it and say what I mean.

He spent two days in the hospital. Come on now. We should be talking about how awful the kids luck is, not assuming we know things because he wasn't there.

I spoke with his dad, and he is doing much better. But that was an extremely scary situation, and a sad one for a senior that has been working hard to get there.

Could it be that someone has a much easier path to a state championship because everyone runs from them?  Don’t ever punish someone for having talent and working hard.

yes, but that shouldn't be part of the MOW for the state tournament.

Are we still thinking Baylor beats Cleveland in a dual this year? I would love to hear some opinions on possible matchups and dual outcomes.:popcorneater:

I would say Baylor, but it would be close (assuming no bumping, and wrestling straight up). Would go with 32-30

    I agree...

Actually, I would have given it to either your son or Bowers, brackets were much tougher. But that's just my thought. But Peterson totally dominated everyone he saw.

This would be a valid argument if Tre had pinned everyone but he wasn’t able to pin all of his Opponents so the time on the mat doesn’t matter.
The only wrestler in tournament to pin all of his opponents was Chittum.  Let me repeat that, the only wrestler to pin all of his opponents was Chittum.

He should have been the OW.  How anyone can justify giving the OW to a kid who scored less points and wasn’t able to pin all of his opponents is mind-boggling.

I get the Cleveland jealousy but let’s be real.

then the same should have gone to Peterson in DII. But that didn't happen either.

I think you need to word this every qualifier in the state should have had the opportunity to get tickets.  Because if they actually got tickets this conversation would not exist.  And I don’t think it matters what school and coach, I am sure the parents are dealing with that privately.  Plus, I’ve never seen any wrestling coach walk on water, last time I checked they were all human.

    right, some just screwed up.

I would want those parents to get to see their kids wrestle.  They did not create this situation.  If emails were sent directly to parents from TSSAA this would be a different conversation, but parents had no control over knowing WHEN the link was sent to their perspective coaches.  Enjoy watching your kid wrestle.  I am sure those who can’t watch their kids can gather in their perspective rooms and watch online.  It will be the same experience.

So you would get an email from TSSAA, but not from your coach? And how is TSSAA supposed to have the email address of every kid participating? Posts were made on this site as well, about the parents having first opportunity. You could always reach out and see if someone might have a ticket or two that they are not using, and buy if from them. I hate that you or anyone might miss out, but seriously blaming this one on TSSAA is reaching way too far. Seems that the rest of the state new the process, heck our coach emailed us several times reminding us of the deadline

I don’t imply anyone thought it was going to be normal.  I said the entire season hasn’t been normal.  And for the coaches letting their parents know a week ago how tickets were going to be purchased is great, BUT IF those parents never received the link they still would not have had anyway to know ticket sales were open.

so again, what would you want to happen?

Even if parents knew to watch for email from coaches, it’s going to be unfortunate for them to be punished and not to get to watch their kid for a code they never received.  It’s easy to throw coaches under the bus and call for their “firing” as in previous comments,  but they are human and this season has been anything but normal.

what do you want to happen?

No, I wasn’t and none of our qualifiers (6) did either.  At this point I would think a lot others did not.  Why did TSSAA not communicate this to the parents and why did they open it up to the general public without checking with wrestling parents?  They caused this whole nightmare with their arbitrary, undisclosed process.  Sorry for rant but I’m fed up with incompetent bureaucrats masquerading as leaders.

They did, we were all sent an email with a code that allowed for a set amount per team prior to them opening it up before Friday.

Do Alvarez and Spell have any common opps or have they wrestled each other this year?  If Im going to pick an upset it would be Omaury over Spell at 160.

The most recent common opp that I can see is Jack Revere of BGA.
Spell pinned him in the 1st, and Alvarez beat him 13-7. They both also beat Miller from FR by pin

Looks like one of the 14 coaches on our panel finally came around and no longer believes that Baylor is the 2nd best team in our state which leaves us with one coach who still does. I have to ask whomever you may be... Coach, do you honestly believe that the 2019-2020 Baylor Red Raiders are the 2nd best high school wrestling team in the state of Tennessee OR do you dislike them so much that you refuse to vote them #1 no matter what?

I don't know, but just throwing this out there. "Could it be that one coach just didn't vote"?
