Exactly! It's in another county (Giles). It's not our fault the US Postal Service decided to let our post office deliver the mail there. The Town of Cornersville does not claim those businesses and they are not in Marshall County. Besides, the original post comparing East TN entertainment to Cornersville entertainment is flawed. A more accurate comparison would be to put East TN entertainment up against Middle TN entertainment, and Middle TN would win easily.

It just dawned on me that Greenback looks just like Richland when they take the field. Putting Richland colors in front of a Bulldog is like putting the color red in front of a bull.

I'm sure you could find a couple of fine upstanding young ladies down the road from Cornersville off I-65 at the "Bungalow" that will do a rain dance for you for $20!!!
That nastiness belongs to Giles County. We're happy to keep that filth on the other side of the I-65 bridge.

MCHS won the 2a title in i believe 1984.That was back when there was just 3 classifications.
You're correct. I just called a friend and he said to look up Bob Edens. Coach Edens is legendary in Lewisburg as a coach and in Cornersville as a principal. I never realized he won it all. I was a kid at the time and too young to remember what was going on in football.

Cornersville will bring the county another gold ball in less than 48 hours!

I was talking with someone earlier who said this is the first title game for any team from Marshall County. I was thinking MCHS had appeared in a game and lost many moons ago. Do any of you know for sure?

Unaka had a post season ban placed on them because they refused to come take their butt whipping in the first round last year.
Shouldn't another team have gotten the spot? A bye week is in no way fair to all of the other teams in the playoffs. Not that it matters, though. That entire part of the bracket was the weakest section and Greenback would have gotten to the game with South Pitt anyway.

I will agree. That quadrant does look like a girl’s basketball district tournament bracket.
Also, why did Greenback get a freebie in the first round?

You'll find out I like to goof off and have a little fun.
Now to get down to the serious talk.I finally got to do a little research and see a little film on you all. You all caught Huntington at the right time. They had bought into this deal that they were the greatest thing since sliced bread and they were already polishing their gold ball. You beat a decent Lake County team but nothing special about them they're just a decent team,Young they have a bright future it looks like in the next couple years. There's one thing I want to promise you you're not going to catch this Greenback team looking past you all they're coming ready to play and they're going to give it to you on Thursday, I'm just going to tell you right now it's coming and these boys are going to finish the deal this year! It's going to be a fun day and your kids should take it all in because it doesn't happen very often for most teams, let them enjoy it they've had a ride and a half so far but it's coming to an end.
"Let them enjoy it" is the philosophy of someone planning to lose a title game. Our kids will have their fun on Thursday night and into the weekend. Before the game, we are about nothing but preparation for war. Cornersville is coming, and there is only one thing on these kids' minds. Gold ball.

According to the forecast, it looks like a rainy Thursday in Cookeville. That might benefit the ground game and hurt the passing game.

All of us find joy in different things.
I find joy in seeing our kids have such a great season, the community coming together, and the support from other parts of the county. It's a fun time to be a Bulldog. Win or lose, I know these kids will give 100% and will not go down easily.

Because that wouldn’t be any fun.
Everything that happens on this board is meaningless. The fun happens on Thursday. All of the disrespectful predictions of mercy rules and blowouts, all of the mean-spirited back and forth between fans, and all of the commentary from people who have never stepped foot on a football field means nothing. These kids and coaches, on both sides, are coming to Cookeville to smash each other in the mouth. That's the fun part, and to get this far in the playoffs I am confident both sides will enjoy every minute of it. For all of us observers, the fun happens from the stands, not at a keyboard.

I have been viewing this site for years but never saw a reason to reply until today. I assume most of you here are grown men, which makes the lack of class in this thread all the more disturbing. Go back and read the lack of respect that has been shown to Cornersville's kids. Read the nasty swipes that numerous fan bases have made at each other. It is unbecoming of men. The kids show more class than many of you in here are showing, because they shake each others hands at the end of the day. The truth is that both teams are hungry for this win, and they will both be preparing to leave everything on the field. Both have been forged in the fire of hard fought playoff games, and both will be sifting through the results to fix weaknesses and uncover the weaknesses of their opponent. All of the garbage being spewed here is meaningless to the kids and coaches, so why not enjoy the week instead of coming in here to be nasty to each other?

People who are worried post stuff like this to make themselves feel better. This game should be a fight to the finish. I look forward to a good game with both teams shaking hands at the end.
